Life Is Good in Mayberry!

Image
If you have read my previous posts you know how much I love the Mayberry paper from Close To My Heart.   In May, my clubs are going to be doing the Mayberry Workshop on the Go kit.   I found the perfect pictures for the feature layout.    I still need to find just a couple more and the layout will be complete but I wanted to go ahead and share.    My daughter is now 21 years old and I'm not organized enough to find pictures easily.    I'm still at the 'box' stage for anything older than 6 years!  It takes me FOREVER to dig through photo boxes.   When I find one, I have to scan it, adjust the color, crop it and then print.   Back when Kirsti was little, I was not a scrapbooker so my pictures weren't taken with pages in mind like I do now.   Sometimes now, I will take a picture to MATCH the paper!  Is that backwards or what?! Here is my Mayberry layout that is the Feature Layout of the WOTG kit.   (Kirsti is the one with the blond hair and my niece is the other litt

H2H - Bunny Hop!

Image
Are you ready to see some Easter and spring cards?   Today, H2H is hosting a Bunny Hop!    We were asked to create anything Easter theme or 'springy'.    For the first time in a week I finally had a chance to sit down at my scrap table and do some creating.   Only problem....my creativity level was running on empty.      I searched around for something really cool to create - maybe a 3D item.    But it just wasn't meant to be!   I couldn't pull it out of me. I reached for my #1 paper pack  - Mayberry.   This paper just says "EASTER" to me.   Maybe it is because the colors remind me of the Easter eggs we used to dye as kids.  I decided to make a "Spring" card using a card from CTMH's xlear card set.  The challenge in creating with the clear cards is you have to think 2 dimensional as you create.  So as you are creating the front, you have to think about the other side and how you will hide the adhesive of the pieces you've attached to the fr

4 Crafty Chicks - Getting Sketchy!

Image
I love it when I find blogs that challenge my creativity!  I found another challenge blog over at 4 Crafty Chicks .   This one is a sketch challenge.   I loved the sketch when it was posted and couldn't wait to try it out.   Problem was.... I really was not feeling the 'love' when I sat down to make some cards for a few challenge blogs.   The first card I made for 4 Crafty Chicks I wasn't happy with.   So I decided to move on to another challenge.   As I was making my card for the next challenge with the Mayberry paper from Close To My Heart, it hit me..... This is the paper I needed to use for the 4 Crafty Chicks challenge!  I couldn't wait to get back to it.  I was much happier with the end result.  I hope you like it! Here is the sketch for Challenge #33.                              Here is my card! Recipe: Mayberry WOTG Kit (G1022) Coloial White, Olive and Cocoa Cardstock (included in the kit) Stamp: Mayberry (included in the WOTG kit) Ink:  Cocoa

Play Date Cafe Challenge PDCC76 - Bless This Nest

Image
One more card to show before I am banned to the bleachers at the softball fields for the next three nights! This is for the Play Date Cafe Challenge.   This one is a color challenge.  Here are the colors we were supposed to use:                                 BEAUTIFUL!  I love them!  SO I just had to create something with these colors.    The Close To My Heart colors that I felt were close to these colors are: Pacifica, Dutch Blue and Topiary.    I chose "Bless This Nest" stamp to use for my card.   It's a favorite of mine and I have made several other cards with this set but have not used this particular stamp from the set! Here is my card: I used the "Gallery" pattern from Originals . Cardstock:  Pacifica, Dutch Blue and White Daisey Stamp: Bless This Nest (C1445) and Eclectic Edges (C1450) Ink : Topiary Accents:  Sparkles - Blue & Green Assortment, White Daisy Grosgrain Ribbon All Products are Close To My Heart.

Mojo Monday #186 - BINGO!

Image
Finally I got some MOJO!  I was beginning to have withdrawals from my scraproom and Mojo Monday was just the fix I needed.   For this week's Mojo I wanted to use a stampset that I haven't used yet.    Sitting in my box all nice and clean was my Bingo Alphabet set.   I loved this set the moment I saw it and it was one of the first stamps I purchased from Close To My Heart's new Spring/Summer Idea Book.  But I still had not used it!  This stamp coordinates so well with the Lucky paper that I decided to use paper from this pack for my card.    Here is this week's Mojo sketch:                   Here is my Birthday card using this sketch: All Products are Close To My Heart RECIPE: Lucky Level 2 Paper (X7137B) Bingo Alphabet (D1478) Kraft Cardstock (Z1375) Sunset Cardstock (X5758) Lucky Level 2 Assortment (Z1356) Kraft Color Ready Border (Z1377) Natural Hemp (Z280) Sunset Mini Medley Collection (Z1338) Colonial White Grosgrain Ribbon (Z1102) Cocoa Exclusive Ink (Z211

On This Day - Creative Ideas!

Image
YIKES! It is Thursday already and I have not had time to do any creating this week! I've been working many long hours in what I call my 'real job' and attending my daughter's softball games at night.  My scrap room is probably wondering where I've been! Since I haven't had time to do some creating of my own, I thought I'd share this Close To My Heart video that shares some really neat ideas for using the On This Day stamp.   This is a stamp that has been on my 'wish list' but I wasn't sure what I'd do with it.   Now I've got some ideas and maybe you will too! Enjoy!   Hopefully soon I'll have some things of my own to share!

Play Date Cafe Challenge - Hope for Japan

Image
I've been pondering this week's colors on The Play Date Cafe Challenge Blog since they were posted.   I love the colors!   I had to think about it a few days deciding what stamp I would use.    Then I thought.... What a great opportunity to show off our special Hope for Japan stamp set!   This exclusive stamp was designed for a cause - to help in the relief efforts after Japan's earthquake and devastating Tsunami.  This A-size stamp would normally be priced at $7.95 but Close To My Heart is offering it for just $5 and every bit of that $5 goes to the American Red Cross.    Consultant's get no commission off the sale of this stamp and this makes me very proud to be a part of this effort!   Here is the color inspiration:                                            And my creation using these colors: I used Close To My Heart's colors of Juniper, Tulip and Silver Embossing.  All products are Close To My Heart.  For complete recipe list see below.
