Convention 2011 - Day 1

What a day it has been!  The morning started out with a team picture of the Scattered Hearts Unit (will post that when it is available).    Then we all gathered outside the convention room doors anxiously awaiting for them to open.   It is almost like Christmas Day waiting until the parents get up and you can start opening your presents!

The doors finally open.....  and it is magical!   The stage has been transformed into a fairy tale.

Cinderella and her prince danced for us.....

Jeanette introduced Close To My Heart's new Mission Statement:

We show you how to celebrate relationships
through discovering your creativity,
to preserve and share the moments
that matter most.

This encompasses all aspects of preservation no matter how you do it - whether it is classical scrapbooking or using our Studio J program.    Times are changing and Close To My Heart is embracing the change in every way.    AWESOME!

Next, 2 fairies and a elf came out to share some news that we were waiting to hear.   The air was electric with anticipation.

New products were introduced Disney style.    Some of the big announcements.... decrease in prices in our stamp sets!  Also now our B&T papers are printed on cardstock weight papers - each side is different - similar to what we saw in the most recent You & Me kits.   Our Level 2 kits are reduced in quantity of paper (6 B&T - still have 6 different designs and 6 sheets of cardstock).   Low price of $9.95.    Goes with our new motto - CONSUME it, don't Collect it!   Now our customers won't be stocking up on paper that they wonder if they will ever use it all!

There is more - but I'll save some of the news for another post.

After General Session, we were given a VERY CUTE tote and the new Idea Book.   Then we headed to Extravaganza.   This is where we got to see new products and learned different ways to use them.    I saw some AMAZING artwork today.   Close To My Heart has many talented artists and consultants.   We attended 7 different classes (20 minutes each).   At the end of each class we received a new product.
The cute bag is covered up by all of my new products!
We wrapped up Extravaganza around 4:30 this afternoon.  After a quick freshening up back in our room, my roomies and I headed to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping and then got a bite to eat.  After dinner, we shopped some more and headed back to hotel.    It's been a LONG day so I'm signing off for now.
More classes tomorrow and our Create & Takes!
