Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring A Flowering Bunch a set of 10 stamps.  Four of these stamps coordinate with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge!  If you have come here from Helen's Blog you are on the right path!  The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around.   If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE We have over 60 consultants participating in the hop. Following the hop is easy, just click on the link at the end of the post and it will hop you right over to the next blog! I created two cards with this set. Card Size - 8 x 3 1/2 For my first card, I stamped the flowers, stem and leaves with Outdoor Denim ink.  Then I used our Alcohol Markers to color! I used Sorbet for the flowers and Olive for the stem and leaves. I wrapped Outdoor Denim Baker's Twine around the card and tied it in a nice little bow. C

Summer Vacation is Here!

Image
School is out so I thought I would create a fun card that reminds me of the beach.  Somewhere I long to go but not sure when I'll get there. The colors in my card were inspired by the colors from this week's Color Throwdown .  I used Close To My Hearts colors of Honey, Sky, Cotton Candy and Slate.  (Boy - don't those color names just make you THINK summer?!)  My card design is from Freshly Made Sketches #88 .  The stamp set used is Tropical Paradise (C1531).   I just love those surf boards! I used cardstock from the Dream Pop Paper Pack.  This is last week that you can get the Dream Pop paper pack and I think there is still a smidgen left in inventory so you'd better hurry!   I've had so much fun this past month creating with this paper pack!  I hope you've enjoyed my creations!  You can always find more inspiration on my Pinterest Dream Pop Board .  I've collected great works all art from many other consultants so be sure to check it out!

You Are a Ray of Sunshine

I did manage to get in a quick card for a challenge today.   I used the sketch from Retro Sketches #65 and a stamp set that I've had for a while but hadn't used yet. I stamped a 4 x 3 1/2 piece of White Daisy Cardstock with the pennant stamps from Patterned Pennents (D1534) .   I loved this stamp and couldn't wait to order it but once I did, I just couldn't seem to get around to using it!  So I was excited to use it today.  I used Sunset, Buttercup and Cotton Candy inks.   I stamped the first pennant with the left edge of the stamp at the center of my piece of cardstock which made it easier to stamp the other pennants.   Next I cut off the bottom at 1".  I cut another 1" and discarded that piece leaving the top to measure 3".    My accents are retired mini medley medallions with Pink Glitter Gems in the center (X1807).  As you can see, I'm still using cardstock from the Dream Pop paper pack!  This pack will only be available through F

Later Sk8r not just a BOY paper!

Image
I know that the first thing that comes to mind for most people when they see Close To My Heart's Later Sk8r paper is "A great paper for boys!".   For me, having no boys to scrapbook and needing to create the Workshop On The Go layouts for my clubs, I originally planned to use the layouts for my daughter's softball pictures.   I think that paper would be perfect for ANY sports! My oldest daughter ran in the Color Run marathon earlier this year and when she and her friend sent me pictures on my phone from that day I knew then what would be going on these pages!  I thought it was perfect!  I wanted to share them here. This is the featured layout from the Later Sk8r Workshop On the Go (G1057)  kit.  The kit comes with an exclusive Later Sk8r (c-size) stamp set, Blue and Green Epoxy bubbles, Later Sk8r assortments and a full color step by step instruction guide!   Inks needed to complete the layout were Pear, Outdoor Denim, Slate and Lagoon. Once I completed the f

A Dream Pop Birthday Card

Here is a quick card I made with the Dream Pop paper using the Freshly Made Sketch #87 . One reason this card was so easy is because I used this piece from the Dream Pop paper pack: The strip down the side of the paper gave me exactly what I needed!  The other portion of the paper provides a nice background for the card. I just love the Honey and Slate colors together.   I stamped a flower from Girls Rock  stamp set onto  coordinating flowers I cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge .   I added slate buttons and Creme Brulee Bakers Twine.   Recipe for 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Card: Dream Pop Paper Girls Rock (C1538) Joyful Birthday (B1419) Mini Medley's Accents Slate Collection (Z1787) Baker's Twine Paradise Assortment (Z1702) This National Scrapbooking Special Dream Pop paper pack won't last long!  Inventory supply is showing just 24% today!  If you haven't ordered yours, be quick!  Get it today before it's gone!  It's just $10

Graduation FINALLY came!

Image
My blog has been quiet for about a week but my craft room has not!  I've been working on things for my youngest daughter's high school graduation party!  I took two days off from work to try to get things ready. I ordered the announcements but created the party invites!   Stamps used: Congrats Graduate (A1139) and Sightseer (C1534) for the chevrons Get ready, this may be a lengthy post!  I've got lots to share! The commencement exercise was held at Middle Tennessee University's Murphy Center.  The Oakland High School Class of 2013 consisted of 406 graduates. After the graduation, we headed out to Slayden Farms to celebrate.  For the last three weeks we've had rain (LOTS of rain) every single weekend.  The beginning of the week had a great graduation forecast but as each day got closer to Saturday the percentage of rain increased.  When I checked the forecast Saturday morning, it was grim - cloudy all day with 60% chance of THUNDERSTORMS from 4pm o

Congrats Grad!

My daughter graduated from High School on Saturday and of course, I needed to make her a card!  I saw this card on Case Study and wanted to do something similar with my Congrats Graduate (A1139)  stamp set.                                     Her school colors are Red, White & Blue but Kayli didn't want her graduation announcements to be school colors!  She wanted PINK!  Once we stepped away from the traditional school colors for her announcements, I decided we might as well go PINK for her party too!  (Read all about her party  HERE ) So, when I created this card I used Pink and Black ink. I layered the card onto a piece raspberry Dream Pop cardstock. (I LOVE this paper pack!) Inside, I used a sentiment from a special stampset that convention attendees received at the 2010 Close To My Heart convention in Disneyland in California.   I thought it was perfect! We are nearly to end of May already!  WOW..... so do you know what that means?  There is just a little over

Happy Mother's Day!

Image
Happy Mother's Day! Here in Middle Tennessee it has been a beautiful day!  Today my girls are doing one of my most dreaded chores for me..... going to the Grocery!  The past week has been very busy and I never had a chance to go.  Yesterday we drove to Kentucky to spend the day with my hubby's mother so Saturday grocery shopping was out.  That left today - and what Mother wants to go to the grocery on Mother's Day?!!  Certainly not me!   So, I gave them a list and sent them on their way.  awww... so nice. I've still got to run by and see my mom. They've been gone this weekend visiting my grandma so that gave me an extra day to work on a card for my Mother.  My mom spends many hours working in her back yard and it is beautiful! So any card I usually create for my mom HAS to have flowers on it! Here is a picture of my mom and my sisters in her backyard. Here is the card I created For this card I cut a large tag with the out of the Dream Pop cardst

Dream Pop Mother's Day Card

After a really busy week I managed to squeeze a tiny bit of creative time.  Next week will be busy too as I get ready for my daughter's graduation party next Saturday.  I've got so much to do!  Last night I had about an hour of ME time so I created this Mother's Day card using our special Dream Pop paper and the Mojo Monday sketch. I absolutely adore this Dream Pop paper!  It's only available during the month of May for just $10 with a $35 purchase of current Close To My Heart products.  We have so many accessories that look great with this paper.   Here, I used the Slate Polka Dot Washi tape (Z1817),  a resin flower pin from the Slate Mini-Medley Accents (Z1787), Silver Glitter Paper from the Black and Grey Glitter Paper (Z1829) and Baker's Twine - Sunset from the Paradise Assortment (Z1702) and Grey Wool from the Neutral Assortment (Z1701).   I used Close To My Heart's Silver Metallic Marker (Z1768) to create 'stitching' around the ou

What a busy time of the year it is for me!  Graduation is coming up soon - May 18 to be exact.  Plus, in the midst of getting ready for that, we are in the middle of the High School District Softball tournament!  Rain came in Friday night and set in for the weekend so the games were cancelled on Saturday.  My first thought was "YEAH!  I'll spend all day Saturday in my scrap room and create! Nothing better to do on a rainy day!".  Or so I thought....  I ended up spending ALL DAY Saturday shopping with my daughter looking for the required "dark dress" that she needed to wear underneath her graduation gown.  So, we set out about 10:30 to look for a black dress.  Finding a black dress (or even a dark color dress) in May is not easy!   Most that we did find, looked better on the hanger than actually on!  Too long, too short, etc.  FINALLY about 3:30 that afternoon we found the dress.  By the time I got home, I was no longer in the mood to create.  I just wanted to re
