Autumn Winter Open House - New Close To My Heart Products!

Yesterday I held my annual Autumn Winter Open House.  It was so much fun and I had several people stop by to check out the new products from the Autumn Winter Idea Book!  If you missed my Open House, here are a few shots from yesterday!

This month's Stamp of the Month is called "A Chocolate Affair" so it was only appropriate that I had a Chocolate Theme going on!

This is the Make & Take area:

Everyone got to create the card I shared for the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - "Chocolate Understands".  Details for this card can be found HERE.  I displayed a couple of other options on our new Designed Decor Black Frame (Z1880).

I created the frame's title using the new Framework Alphabet (E1027) stamp.  This is a new favorite! I also used then new Corner Rounder (Z1912) to create the scalloped edge.
Here is a closer look:

Check out the new Hair Clip (Z1876)!  I used it as an accent to my frame!  This is one of the new Base & Bling pieces.  I used the Slate Houndstooth Sparkle & Shine Textiles (Z1884) to create my flower and added a rhinestone accented flower from the Base & Bling Floral Accents (Z1883)

Everyone go to check out all the new papers and see two completed Workshop on the Go Kits - Laughing Lola and Proplayer.  I had all the WOTG Kits there so they could see the contents of each kit including the stamps.  I also had a few other new products that coordinated with the paper packs.

Next was my display showcasing the new Hostess Reward Stamps.  (I'll be sharing close ups of these cards later this week!) Also displayed is my next Girls Night Out coming up August 23rd.  We will be doing the Fabric Necklace Kit and a ring!  I had several of the Base & Blink pieces displayed.

Here is my Cardmaking WOTG kits and the new Artbooking Cricut Collection display.

Twice a year I gather up all the cards that I have created and package them with a envelope to sell at my Open House.  Since I create so many card for my blog I found that I had quite a few - more than I would every send out.  So I decided to sell them!  But I do not keep the money.  All of the money from the sale of my cards is donated to Operation Smile.   My goal each year is to raise enough money to pay for one operation through the sale of my cards.   One operation costs $240.  I am very happy to report that yesterday I raised $112 at my open house for the cards I sold!   Added to that, I held a silent auction on a Halloween Banner I had created for Extravanganza the year I taught.  The banner brought $20!   So I have a total of $132 to send to Operation Smile!

Door Prizes are a fun part of the day!  I give away tickets to my customers for door prizes.  They have a variety of ways to earn the tickets.  First, they get a ticket if they RSVP that they are coming. (that's easy!).  One more ticket if they brought a friend! Then they got tickets for every $10 they purchased, 3 tickets for booking a Gathering or Book party, 1 ticket for every Operation Smile Card they purchased, 2 tickets for signing up for my Girls Night Out Workshop.  Oh yes!  And one ticket for each correct answer on their scavenger hunt!   Here are the prizes they tried for:

Sticky Goodness - Bonding Memories Glue and Liquid Glass
CTMH Tumbler filled with Kisses and a M-size stamp
Stitched With Love Stampset
Chocolate Platter - Dessert Plate filled with Chocolate Cardstock,
Chocolate Ink Pad, Chalk Distressing Ink, Chocolate Mini Medleys and
a BIG CHOCOLATE KISS!
Of course, all this shopping can make a person hungry so I had a table full of chocolate goodies!

And of course - a little Chocolate Bar for the road!

Thanks to all who came out!  I had fun and hope you did too!

  1. Your open house looks awesome. Your Artbooking Display Board is great! You really captured the main elements without being overwhelming. I will definitely use your board as an example to create one.
    Thanks for the inspiration.
