August Stamp of the Month - What a Hoot

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring What A Hoot, a set of 17 stamps. If you have come here from Maureen O'Sullivan's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

This set is just adorable and I think kids young and old will have fun playing with this 'dress-up' owl!  For my card I decided to use a technique that I haven't done in a while.  Actually, I used the spray pen technique with a challenge I participated in a few weeks ago and I had so much fun I wanted to do it again!  This card and technique will be my next Technique Tuesday class this month! (See my Upcoming Events tab for those details)

Here's my card!

I stamped the owl on our new Scardy Cat paper and the wings and face were stamped onto the new color - Thistle Cardstock.  Before placing the owl on the card I cut a spiral image from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge and adhered it to the card with our Bonding Memories Glue.  I let the glue dry before placing the spiral on the card.  This enables it to be sticky and easily removed.  I did the same for two stamped owl eyes. I used our Spray Pens to spray Thistle ink onto the card and then added a splash of sunset spray.   I removed the spiral and the eyes.  Next I stamped the eyes in the space left from my masking.  I used our two black expoxy stars for the eyes.  These are from the Scardy Cat Assortments.  The new Purple Shimmer Trim adds just the right amount of sparkle.

Remember!!  This stamp is available ONLY during the month of August!
Get it for just $5 when you spend $50.

Now it is time to hop over to my dear friend Krista Hershberger's blog.  I can't wait to see what she has created!
