May Stamp of the Month - Just Sayin' Blog Hop

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Just Sayin'a set of 14 stamps. If you have come here from Maureen O'Sullivan's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

This stamp set is great for adding to your scrapbooking layouts but I needed to create something quick and easy to use in my Technique Tuesday class. I found a Triangle Fold Card that I thought would be fun.

I used paper from the Wanderful paper pack (X7191B) to make this card.  The flower is made from scallops that I cut with the Art Philosphy Cricut Cartridge.  The center of the flower is the the circle image from the stamp set that I punched out using a 5/8" circle punch.    I added flourish from the Sparkles Black Flourishes - Small set (Z1916).

When you open the card, a little note is revealed:

Pull out the note and write something special!

This is an easy fold card and fun to make!  If you are local to me, check out my Upcoming Events Tab here on this blog for the date and time of this Technique Tuesday Class!

Remember!
This stamp is just $5 when you spend $50 in Close to My Heart products during the month of May!  If you don't already have a consultant, shop my website at www.stampinheaven.ctmh.com

Now it is time to hop over to Michelle Jones' blog and see what she has created!
You are in for a treat!

Complimenting Jackson

Have you seen the new Jackson papers in Close To My Heart's new Seasonal Expression 2 book? I love the colors and textures in this pack.  These are great papers for those outdoor trips and events.   I put together the Jackson Workshop On the Go layout and had plenty of paper to create another layout.  On the back of the instruction guide, CTMH always suggest another layout that you can do with your leftover papers.   I loved the layout but I wanted to use the coordinating compliments so I created this layout.

I added 3x3 flip flaps to the photo mats in the upper right page.  This is a great way to add additional pictures to your layout.  I dressed up the flip flaps by added a few compliments directly to the flip flaps.

Products used for this layout:

Jackson Workshop on the Go - G1094
Jackson Compliments - X7195C

Brushed Layouts with Compliments

WOW... how did I let more than a week pass by with no posts?!  It's been busy.  I haven't had much time to create.  The last two weeks has been full of driving back and forth from Kentucky trying to get my Mother In Law moved.   This past Sunday we were finally able to get her down to her new home in Tennessee.  It has been a VERY long process and we still have much to deal with back in Kentucky but at least she is here and now we can focus on getting her house and contents sold.   This has been a new phase in our lives and I sympathize with anyone who has had to go through this.

Here is a bit of good news in my creative world though!!  Tomorrow I'm leaving for Virginia for my Annual CTMH Spa Girls Reunion!!   After the last couple of weeks this will be a much needed break! My group of "Spa Girls" were the first group to win a weekend scrapbooking retreat in Utah 5 years ago at the Close To My Heart Convention.  There were 9 of us and we all never met before!  That weekend we hit it off so well and have stayed fast friends ever since.  We meet up at convention each year for a reunion lunch.   Convention has so much going on and we are always busy with our own teams.  Last year we decided that a one hour lunch just wasn't enough time to 'catch up'.  So we planned a weekend retreat in Virginia at one of the gal's house who has an AWESOME place to scrap!  Not all of us are able to be there - this year there will be 5 of us.  The others will be there in spirit!

I packed my new Rolling Tote last night with all the projects I plan to work on!  I'm so glad I got it! Everything fits into it perfectly.  Other than my rolling tote I only have my Cricut Explore and small file full of paper pack and kits.  Last year I had tons of totes and boxes!  My "To Do" list is long.  I hope I get most of it done.   If I'm successful, I'll have alot to post when I return!

I do have a bit of artwork to share today though.  I've had this done for a while but haven't had a chance to get pictures and get them posted on here.   This month, my clubs are creating the layout from the Brushed WOTG kit.  This paper is so pretty and the layout is lovely!  The layout uses an Artbooking overlay as a template for sponging ink onto the paper.
The WOTG kit includes the Brushed Assortments and Topiary Washi Tape.

I created 2 more layouts using left over papers and cardstock adding only 2 additional sheets of White Daisy Cardstock and used the Brushed Compliments.   The compliments are vellum and they are so pretty!

Thank you for stopping by!!  I'll be back on Monday with more artwork to post from my trip!!

Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop! Today we are featuring artwork created with products from Close To My Heart's new Seasonal Expressions 2 Book. We have over 40 Consultants participating in this circular hop so when you get back to me, you will know you have visited all of the blogs! Be sure to leave comments! We LOVE reading comments. If you came from Michelle Battitori's blog you are on the right track! If you get lost along the way you can find the entire participating hoppers HERE.

I am so excited about the new SE2 book!  The front cover is yummy isn't it?  I immediately fell in love with everything inside.  I had a difficult time deciding what I wanted to do for this new product blog hop.  I love mini albums and there are 2 new ones in this book.  Finally, I decided on the My Creations Mini Folio Album Z3070.  This cute little accordion fold album has 5 4x4 panels.  It has a string that wraps around a clear plastic closure to keep the book closed.

I chose a sports theme for this album because I think it would make a great little individual gifts for teams.  Simple and quick!

I used the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge to cut frames and coordinating shapes for the new Team Player Stamp Set (D1652).

Colors: Juniper, Glacier, Pear and Slate
