InstaLife - Keeping Those Social Media Memories is Easy!

It's getting close to that time of year that we begin to start thinking about Christmas shopping.  I know many of you have probably already started!  Today I have a great suggestion for your tweens, pre-teens, teens, and even the grown-ups in your life that LOVE taking photos on their phones!  This past September, Close To My Heart introduced a product called Insta-Life.

This little album is perfect for preserving your favorite social media memories or really any miniature keepsakes. Add Instalife cards to the Memory Protectors™ for an extra pop of color next to your photos, or stamp on cute dates and messages using our Instalife roller stamps.  This album is available in two styles: Teal (Z3183)  and Berry (Z3182)

When I went to convention back in June, I took most of my pictures with my phone.  So using this little album was a great way to keep all those fun memories!  I used the Teal album and jazzed up the front a bit with Gold Glitter paper.  I cut out the letters using the font from the new Artistry Cricut Cartridge.

Here are just a few pages that I put together in minutes using the Instalife Colorful Me Cards and the Memory Protectors.

The Memory Protectors are available in two styles - 4x4 pockets and 4 pockets that are 2x2.  Add Instalife Cards for even more fun!
The Bright Side (Z3187) and Colorful Me (Z3186)

Add even more fun to your Instalife Album with these fun roller stamps!
Day to Day (Z3115) This Happened (Z3114)

Be sure to add these to your Christmas list and give these fun Instalife products to someone who loves making memories!

Create Your Own Countdown to Christmas

This past weekend I was shopping with my daughter.  She now has her own place so we were browsing the Christmas aisles at Hobby Lobby looking for Christmas decorations.   We came upon a cute framed chalkboard with a countdown calendar on it.  I told her "Oh I could do that!" I still have my Design Decor Magnetic Chalkboard.  It was currently sitting in my craft room erased clean from my last project.

I couldn't wait to do this when I got home!  Here is my completed project and it didn't take that long!
Note that I used chalk because I like to change out what is on my board for my business.  But, if you want something that is permanent you might consider using our Chalk Marker (Z1767).  The chalk marker is not erasable and it would give you finer lines.

How do you like those squares?  Pretty straight too.  Let me tell you how I did it!  First, I created a template.  I used the Square<4> image from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  Using Design Space, I spaced the squares out evenly on my 12 x 12 grid.  I then cut them out to create my template. The inside of the frame is just under 12" wide so I had to trim 1/8" off the edge.  I then used painter's tape to tape the template down to hold it in place.  Using a piece of chalk, I traced around each square.  I free-handed the numbers.

I created a template for Merry Christmas using letters Art Philosophy again.  I centered this on my cutting mat in Design Space and then cut.  (I actually chalked all the squares first, and then I flipped the frame upside down to chalk "Merry Christmas" so that I would not smudge the squares)

My little marker is a corduroy flower from the Mini Medley Accents Ruby Collection on a magnet.  I had the magnet in my stash from a Michael's purchase a while back.  It is 3/4" in diameter.  Just perfect for the flower which is adhesive back.   What a fun project to share with your kids!  Order your Magnetic Chalkboard today so you will be ready December 1 to start your countdown!

My Top 10 Reasons You Should be a Close To My Heart Consulant

In February 2016 I will have been a consultant with Close To My Heart for 10 years.  WOW.... I still can't believe that much time has already passed.  You know what they say.... Time flies when you are having fun!

We have just about a week left in our October It's In the Bag Campaign.  During the month of October, you sign up to be a Close to My Heart Consultant you will get an exclusive Convention Bag for FREE along with your new consultant kit! These bags are just the coolest and they ARE exclusive because only the consultants that attended the 2015 CTMH Convention in July received this bag.

With just a little left remaining to sign up, I thought now would be a great time to share my Top 10 Reasons that you should become a CTMH consultant!   I could probably list 20 reasons -- but I will keep it short.

#1 - The Kit!!

Oh my word!  This is the BEST KIT EVER!!  This kit will get you started right away because you will have everything you need to do your first gathering!  It contains over $445 worth of product and you get it for $129 (plus ship and tax). That alone is reason to sign up - the kit value, over 60% off if you bought the items separately! See a detailed list of each item in the consultant kit HERE

#2 - The BEST products on the market!
Close To My Heart has top notch products - papers, exclusive Cricut Cartridges - 5 cartridges with OVER 700 images each!, beautiful CLEAR stamps, coordinating ink colors and accessories!  Close To My Heart is ON TREND and they keep up with the industry demands by introducing fresh new products every 4 months!  I never need to shop anywhere else because CTMH has everything I could ever need!

#3 - The Discount!
Of course, how could this NOT be in my top 10?!  Every consultant gets a 22% discount on all products orders right off the top! For any order you place, you will instantly receive 22% off the retail total (excluding tax & s/h). For example, on a $100 retail order, you would keep your 22% discount ($22) and pay only $78 to CTMH.

#4 - FREE Product and More Cash!
Each month you have the ability to earn additional commission and FREE product in SPC Commission!  The more you sell, the more you can earn.  Check out this earning chart to see what you can earn!

#5 Lasting Friendships
I can not have a Top Ten list without listing friendships in the top 5.  The sense of community among the Close To My Heart Consultants is incredible.  They are there for me as friends, business partners and mentors. These friendships will last a lifetime.

#6 Flexibility
When I first signed up as a consultant for Close To My Heart I had two daughters that played softball - nearly year round.  I was worried how I would find the time to run my business.  The great thing was, I ran my business as my schedule permitted! I scheduled workshops and gatherings around my daughters busy game schedule - when it worked for me - and I was able to meet my quarterly minimums.  My oldest daughter graduated from High School so that freed up a little more time.  5 years later my youngest daughter graduated and suddenly I had A LOT of time! If I had not joined Close To My Heart before this sudden abundance of free time, I think I would have been lost with nothing to do!

#7 FREE Resources
The amount of resources that is provided to CTMH consultants phenomenal.  Just to name a few important ones:
On-line Business Address (websites) that our customers can shop from 24/7.
Free Credit Card Processing -  we can accept Credit Cards on our websites and at gatherings!
Free Newsletter Service and there are no processing fees charged to us!
Free Training on Products and Services through videos and events.
Free Hostess Rewards - NO spending of our own commission to provide free Hostess Rewards!

#8 Early Preview to New Products and Specials
I love being among the first to know about something new coming out.  Even better, I love it when I can get my hands on new product before anyone else!  As a CTMH Consultant we get early notice of monthly specials AND we get to order new products one month before they are released to the public.  This helps me be more knowledgeable about our products when my customers ask me questions.  It also helps me to be about create art that will get my customers excited about purchasing something they may only see in a book!

#9 Creative Inspiration
The amount of creative inspiration I get from the Close To My Heart and other consultants is never ending. My own creativity has evolved over the last 10 years.  One of the reasons I joined nearly 10 years ago was because I wanted to do more creatively. I thought it would be a good 'excuse' to do more crafting.  Now I get paid to get creative! With so much around to inspire me, it is so easy!

#10 Opportunity to Travel
This on HAS to be on my Top Ten this year!  This year for the first time, I earned an all expense paid trip to Hawaii!  They paid not only for me but my husband as well.  They even paid the airfare to get us there!  It was truly a dream vacation.  CTMH didn't stop with just getting us there, they treated us like royalty all week long with daily gifts!  I'm already working on earning the trip to Puerto Vallarta Mexico in 2017.

#JUST ONE MORE - #11
I have to had one more reaon - CONVENTION!  Close To My Heart puts on the best convention each year.  All attendees get the opportunity to order brand new product bundles at an even deeper discount.  The amount of product and training we receive at convention is amazing. Each time I come home my brain is buzzing with ideas for future classes and workshops.  It is a great jumpstart for inspiration and business building.  Once you go the first time, you won't want to miss one every again!

Christmas Joy - Diffusing and Masking

Close To My Heart has a new product in their Annual Inspirations that you may have overlooked.  It is the new embossing diffusers on page 122.  These nifty clear plastic plates are perfect for using with our embossing folders when you want to emboss a selected area of your project.  On the card below I used the Square Diffuser with the Dot Embossing folder.  When I ran it through my cuttlebug it left a square with no embossing. This makes a great place to stamp!

Don't you love the stamp?  It was one of my immediate favorites in the Holiday Inspirations book.
Spray of Joy A1174
You may be wondering how I stamped this image with the Fern and Cranberry Inks.  Here is a short visual tutorial on the masking technique that I used.

First, stamp the image on a post it note - make sure that part of the image is on the sticky part of the note!  This helps to temporarily adhere in place while you are stamping.

Next I cut away the portion of the "Joy" including the flowers and berries that I would be stamping with Cranberry ink.  Place this on your card where you will be stamping.

I placed the "joy" piece of post it note onto my card and stamped the leaves in Fern Ink.  Since our stamps and block are clear, I'm able to perfectly line up "joy" to get a perfect placement for my leaves!

It looked like this when I removed the post it note

Next, I placed the leaf portion of the post it note right on top of my stamped image.
Now I'm ready to stamp "joy" in cranberry ink!

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial!  My next Technique Tuesday Class will be featuring the Embossing Diffuser.  If you live local to me, be sure to check out this class!  See my Upcoming Events tab for date, time and info on reserving your spot!

Close To My Heart = Friendships

October is a special recruiting month for Close To My Heart for several reasons.  During the month of October, all brand new consultants that sign will receive a FREE Convention bag with their new consultant kit.  I got one of these bags at convention this summer - ONLY convention attendees get these bags.  It is something that everyone can't wait to see on the opening day of General Session. Not only are these bags stylish, but they are also great for carrying everything from Idea books to everyday business essentials.

But really, is it all just about the bag?  Let me tell you, it is more than a just the bag.  In February of 2016 I will be celebrating my 10 year anniversary with Close To My Heart.  Every time I think about it I'm amazed.  Am I amazed that I am still here?  No, not really.  I am amazed at how Close To My Heart has changed my life.  I really can't imagine my life without all the friendships that I have made over the past 10 years.  Not only have I made life long friends with customers, I have made lifelong friends with sister consultants all across the United States, Canada and even Australia and New Zealand!
Spa Girls Reunion at Convention every year
We even try to get together now each year for a weekend getaway!
Recent Making Connections Event in Memphis.  I got to meet other consultants in the Tennessee and surrounding area.  I rode to Memphis with 2 CTMH sisters who live near Nashville area.  We were able to spend the car trip sharing ideas and experiences!
Recently I spent the weekend with several of my wonderful customers who are more than just 'customers 'to me - they are some of my very dearest friends!
If someone asked me to name just one thing that I liked about Close To My Heart (and believe me, there are tons of things I could name), it would have to be the FRIENDSHIPS.    Friendships are Number 1.  Some of the best times I have had during my almost 10 years has been with my customers and CTMH sisters.   I just could not imagine my life without these precious people sharing their time and talents with me.  I have been truly blessed more than I could ever have imagined.

If you are looking for a few new friends, consider joining my StampinHeaven Angels team. You will be blessed beyond measure in that department!  And, yes, during the month of October we will throw in a special bag too!

Halloween Memories with Nevermore

Recently I shared a layout I created using the Nevermore Paper for a non-Halloween themed layout. Today, I'm sharing my layouts I created using the paper for Halloween!  I no longer have trick or treaters at home but it was fun creating these layouts for my clubs.

I love the compliments for the Nevermore collection.  They consist of Stickers, Kraft Die-Cut shapes and Plastic Die-Cuts as well!  These were so much fun to work with.   Since these compliments are a bit smaller than the compliments that we have had in the past, I found that the best way to use them is to cluster in groups.  It really does add dimension to your pages.
Check out my 2nd layout below.  I have several groupings of clusters on this layout too.  I really like the moon and bats on the right page.

Like these layouts?  Order the products used and I will send you a free cutting guide to create BOTH of these layouts shown!

Blog Hop - Holiday Expressions New Product Spotlight

Welcome to our Holiday Expressions Blog Hop! Our new Holiday Expressions book is a supplement to our Annual Inspirations.  The Holiday Expressions has everything you need for your Holiday papercrafting projects including fall, Halloween and Christmas stamps, papers and more!  The Holiday Expressions is also where you will find the Stamps of the Month.  This book is only good through December 31 so you don't want to wait until next year to order your favorite things!

Today we are featuring artwork created with products from our new Holiday Expressions book. We have over 20 Consultants participating in this circular hop so when you get back to me, you will know you have visited all of the blogs! Be sure to leave comments! We LOVE reading comments. If you came from Haley Dyer's blog you are on the right track! If you get lost along the way you can find the entire participating hoppers HERE.

Today I wanted to go 'out of the box' a little bit with our Halloween paper pack.  Each month my clubs create a WOTG Scrapbooking Kit.   There was not a WOTG kit for the Nevermore paper so I created 2 fun Halloween Layouts for them.  (I will share those in a few days)  Not all of my club members have small trick or treaters at home anymore so I also created a layout that was not Halloween themed for those ladies.

I used several of our Close To My Heart Cricut cartridges for this layout.  The large butterfly is from our newest Cartridge - Artistry.  The smaller butterfly is from the Artbooking cartridge. The gears are from the Artiste Cartridge and the word "Amazing" is the font from Artfully Sent.  I stamped the word "SIMPLY" with Jennifer's Hand My Acrylix stamp and added purple shimmer trim and Purple Heart Glitter Gems to finish the layout.

Come back and visit my blog later this week to see the Halloween layouts I created using the Nevermore Paper Pack and Nevermore Compliments!.

Now it is time to hop over to Catherine Nowak's blog to see what she has to share!

October Stamp of the Month - Twinkle

Welcome to the October Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Twinkle, a set of 10 stamps! If you have come here from Jennifer Dykstra's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

I created a pretty simple front for my card using the White Pines Paper with New England Ivy cardstock.  I cut the shape from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge and used Gold Embossing to stamp the frame and the word Peace.

For the inside of my card, I used the Christmas Tree pop out from the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge.  Before I made all the folds, I stamped the light strand, the little stars and the light bulbs with Versa Mark ink and then Gold Embossed them.  I added some gold dots from the Fundamental Assortments Gold (Z3105) to the tree.  The strip at the bottom of the card is from one of the White Pines B&T papers.

This stamp is just $5 when you spend $50 in Close to My Heart products
during the month of September!
