Animal Greetings Valentines

It's not too early to start thinking about Valentines Day!  Recently a friend of mine asked me to design a Valentine Workshop for kids as a fundraiser for her mission trip.  I knew immediately the stamp to use!  Close To My Heart's Animal Greetings!  Not only are the animals adorable color-able images with cute sayings, it has a special purpose too!

Animal Greetings - D1679
For every Animal Greetings stamp set that is purchased, $7.00 will be donated to Operation Smile. Operation Smile is an organization that provides free, life-changing surgery that repairs smiles and reshapes lives, one child at a time. Since 2008, Close To My Heart has provided support to change the lives of over 1,500 children and their families.

For my workshop, I kept it simple, using our Fundamental Cardstock in Whimsy and Enchantment colors to make twelve 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 flat cards.  I layered the cardstock so that the opposite side with the pattern provides a mat for the stamped image.  These images can be colored with markers, watercolor paints, color pencils - any coloring method you choose!  At my workshop we will be using the Watercolor pencils and blending pen technique.  It is easy enough that anyone can do!  The final touch for Valentines is a little red heart placed onto each card.

To create these cards, here are the basic supplies needed:
Animal Greetings Stamp - D1679
White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Paper Fundamentals Cardstock - either Whimsy (Z3127) or Adventure (3125)
Red Hearts - Z2009
Black Ink - Z2105
2x2 Acrylix Block - Y1003

To color I used:
Watercolor pencils - 3505
Blending Pen - 3175
