Bridal Shower Banner

Image
Sometimes it can be quite advantageous to have a mom (Me) that is into papercrafting.   My daughter is throwing a Bridal Shower for her best friend and asked me to make her a banner.   I love it when I get a chance to do something different.   Banners are fun and this is the first time I've made one for a Bridal Shower! She wanted to use a pink color that was close to the color in her wedding.  I still had a few sheets of the retired Baby Pink cardstock which turned out to match perfectly. I used the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge to cut my banner and the letters. The letter are cut from Colonial White Cardstock.  I went for a little different shape rather than the usual 'triangle' for the banner. I used the Artistry cricut cartridge to cut the 'stone' that is behind each letter.  These were cut from the lighter gold glitter paper from the Gold Glitter Paper (Z3076).  I found a wedding ring image on the Artfully Sent Cartridge so used this image behind the &qu

Seasonal Expressions 2 Launch Event in Atlanta

Image
Wow..... so unlike me.  It's been over a week since I have posted anything.  I seemed to have taken on the upper respiratory crud that has been going around and it has really knocked me for a loop! The only crafting I did last week was to work up a brand new Workshop Your Way Kit from the new Seasonal Expression 2 book.  This was for the SE2 Launch event that I attended in Atlanta this past Saturday!   I wish I could share it already - it is so stinkin' cute!  But I will have to wait.  The book goes live to Customers on May 1.  You will LOVE IT!!! Several of the Scattered Hearts Team attended the Atlanta Event I love it that CTMH does these small events.  It gives a chance for consultants that are not able to attend convention to meet other consultants.  It's very motivating PLUS we get some creative time with brand new yet to be released products!  I will be sharing all the projects we created as we get closer to the SE2 launch. Ten Things I Love with Flip Flaps!

Image
Today, I'm sharing a layout that we did at my Winter Retreat.  This one was fun. We used a 4x12 and a 8x12 flip flap.  Below is a picture of the layout as it would look in an album.  (sorry for the glare - sun and page protectors don't go.)  For this layout, I used Georgie paper pack which has a baby theme but this shows that this paper pack can be very versatile.   By adding the darker peacock color, it gives the paper a different feel. The theme of this layout is 10 Things I Love.  Each participant was to show 10 random things that they love.  It was fun for me to show the 10 things that make me happy. The flip flaps are attached to the left page.   Below you can see how it opens. Once the flip flaps are opened, the pages still flow together in the layout. Flip Flaps are a great way to expand your layout and add more pictures. The 10 Things and numbered list were cut from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. We used a variety o

A Watercolor Safari Ballet

Image
I've been playing with my watercolor paints lately and decided to use this cute little stamp I've had in my stash.   For my card I used a Picture My Life card from Penelope. I lightly brushed on blue watercolor paint in the background. I used Watercolor Paper to stamp them dancing hippo from the stamp Safari Ballet and then colored her with my watercolor paints before cutting her out. To accent my card, I used a Silver Metallic marker to draw a line around the outer edge. The vellum umbrella is from the Penelope compliments. I added a silver butterfly puffy. Originally, I had another card all ready to go for this blog hop.  But this stamp set kept coming to mind lately - alot.  I think maybe it is because a couple of my customer have ordered just this past week.  The other night I went to bed with this stamp on my mind and woke up in the morning with an idea of how I wanted to use it.  I couldn't wait to try out my idea. Here is how I created this card. (Hint: To help reduce the amount of buckling when using watercolor paints I taped down my

If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's  HERE . For my card, I used paper from the Penelope Paper Pack.  I added the green piece at the base and the Thistle washi tape.  Then I stamped my images,  I stamped another bird onto Thistle B&T paper and the sun on some Canary B&T.  Before layering the bird and sun on top of the stamped images, I ran my card base through the Vine Embossing Folder (Z3019) .  (Hint: I like to stamp the bird on the card base so that when I cut out the bird from the B&T paper, I don't have to worry about cutting around his little legs or feathers on top of his head!) We will be crea
