Bridal Shower Banner

Sometimes it can be quite advantageous to have a mom (Me) that is into papercrafting.   My daughter is throwing a Bridal Shower for her best friend and asked me to make her a banner.   I love it when I get a chance to do something different.   Banners are fun and this is the first time I've made one for a Bridal Shower!

She wanted to use a pink color that was close to the color in her wedding.  I still had a few sheets of the retired Baby Pink cardstock which turned out to match perfectly.

I used the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge to cut my banner and the letters. The letter are cut from Colonial White Cardstock.  I went for a little different shape rather than the usual 'triangle' for the banner.

I used the Artistry cricut cartridge to cut the 'stone' that is behind each letter.  These were cut from the lighter gold glitter paper from the Gold Glitter Paper (Z3076).  I found a wedding ring image on the Artfully Sent Cartridge so used this image behind the "To" in the center.

I felt like just a little something else was needed on the banners so I stamped a flourish in Desert Sand ink.  Desert Sand is the perfect color for a gold look.  The flourish is from the set - Mr. & Mrs. (C1621).   The gold ribbon is just some ribbon I had on hand in my stash.  It worked perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by!   I think I'm getting my creative mojo back after all these weeks.   Be sure to stop by on Saturday to check out April's Stamp of the Month blog hop!

Seasonal Expressions 2 Launch Event in Atlanta

Wow..... so unlike me.  It's been over a week since I have posted anything.  I seemed to have taken on the upper respiratory crud that has been going around and it has really knocked me for a loop!

The only crafting I did last week was to work up a brand new Workshop Your Way Kit from the new Seasonal Expression 2 book.  This was for the SE2 Launch event that I attended in Atlanta this past Saturday!   I wish I could share it already - it is so stinkin' cute!  But I will have to wait.  The book goes live to Customers on May 1.  You will LOVE IT!!!

Several of the Scattered Hearts Team attended the Atlanta Event
I love it that CTMH does these small events.  It gives a chance for consultants that are not able to attend convention to meet other consultants.  It's very motivating PLUS we get some creative time with brand new yet to be released products!  I will be sharing all the projects we created as we get closer to the SE2 launch.

Creating with my downline Cathy Swank and sideline Heather Hicks!
I was so excited that my downline got to attend this event with me!  I think she came back motivated! April brings us a new special for anyone that is interested in joining a Close To My Heart team!  My goal is to build my team by 5 new members by the end of the year.  I don't want YOU to wait until the end of the year though!  April will be the BEST month to join!

If you have ever considered any direct sales business I ask you to take a close look at Close To My Heart!  Next Monday night I will be hosting a Question and Answer session on Facebook about the Close To My Heart Opportunity!  Join me at 7pm!

Ten Things I Love with Flip Flaps!

Today, I'm sharing a layout that we did at my Winter Retreat.  This one was fun. We used a 4x12 and a 8x12 flip flap.  Below is a picture of the layout as it would look in an album.  (sorry for the glare - sun and page protectors don't go.)  For this layout, I used Georgie paper pack which has a baby theme but this shows that this paper pack can be very versatile.   By adding the darker peacock color, it gives the paper a different feel.

The theme of this layout is 10 Things I Love.  Each participant was to show 10 random things that they love.  It was fun for me to show the 10 things that make me happy.

The flip flaps are attached to the left page.   Below you can see how it opens.

Once the flip flaps are opened, the pages still flow together in the layout.

Flip Flaps are a great way to expand your layout and add more pictures.

The 10 Things and numbered list were cut from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.
We used a variety of stamps on this layout:
Our Story - C1635
Snapshot Memories - D1648
#makesmehappy - D1658 (Hostess Reward Stamp)

Other products used:
Georgie Paper Pack - X7203B
Artbooking Cricut Cartridge -
Whisper Ink - Z2172
Peacock Ink - ZZ2649
Juniper Ink - Z2165
Canary Ink - Z2643
Silver Foil Tape - Z3130
12" Assortment Flip Flaps - Z1325

A Watercolor Safari Ballet

I've been playing with my watercolor paints lately and decided to use this cute little stamp I've had in my stash.

For my card I used a Picture My Life card from Penelope. I lightly brushed on blue watercolor paint in the background. I used Watercolor Paper to stamp them dancing hippo from the stamp Safari Ballet and then colored her with my watercolor paints before cutting her out.

To accent my card, I used a Silver Metallic marker to draw a line around the outer edge. The vellum umbrella is from the Penelope compliments. I added a silver butterfly puffy.

Products Used:
Penelope Paper Pack - X7207B
Penelope Compliments X7207C
Silver Metallic Marker - Z1768
Playful Puffies - Z3205
Stamp: Safari Ballet -A1180
Watercolor Paints - Z3132

A Watercolor Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Watercolor Blog Hop! In this blog hop you will see creations by over 20 CTMH Consultants using Watercolor Paints or Watercolor Pencils. This hop will be a lot of fun and I'm sure will inspire you! If you have come here from Darlys Recker's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

Originally, I had another card all ready to go for this blog hop.  But this stamp set kept coming to mind lately - alot.  I think maybe it is because a couple of my customer have ordered just this past week.  The other night I went to bed with this stamp on my mind and woke up in the morning with an idea of how I wanted to use it.  I couldn't wait to try out my idea.

Here is how I created this card. (Hint: To help reduce the amount of buckling when using watercolor paints I taped down my watercolor paper with washi tape.)  First I painted a blue background on a piece of watercolor paper.  I set this aside and worked on a piece that I was going to stamp my balloon on to. First I used a generous amount of water washing it across the paper to get it really wet.  Then, I added color making sure to have lots of water so that I could push it around the paper.  I started with yellow paint and went to orange and green next.  Then added a wash of pink into the yellow and top of the orange.

Once this dried, I stamped my hot air balloon on top of the Blue watercolor piece and again on the multi-color piece.  I cut our the balloon on the multi-color watercolor paper and using Thin 3D Foam tape, I attached it on top of the stamped image on the blue background.

Products Used:
Paper Fundamental Cardstock Whimsy (Sweet Leaf) Z3127
Balloon Wishes -D1667
Black Momento Ink - Z899
Watercolor Paints - Z3132
Paint Brush Set - Z3188
Watercolor Paper - Z3146
Sparkles Clear Assortment - Z1752

March Stamp of the Month - Sunshine Birdies

Welcome to the March Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Sunshine Birdies. This is a fun set of 11 stamps! If you have come here from Vickie ODell's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

For my card, I used paper from the Penelope Paper Pack.  I added the green piece at the base and the Thistle washi tape.  Then I stamped my images,  I stamped another bird onto Thistle B&T paper and the sun on some Canary B&T.  Before layering the bird and sun on top of the stamped images, I ran my card base through the Vine Embossing Folder (Z3019).  (Hint: I like to stamp the bird on the card base so that when I cut out the bird from the B&T paper, I don't have to worry about cutting around his little legs or feathers on top of his head!)

We will be creating this card at my next Technique Tuesday class!  If you are local to me, check out my upcoming events tab for more information!

Remember!  You can purchase this Sunshine Birdies stamp set for just $5 with a $50 purchase!

Now it is time to check out all the other fun things created with this adorable stamp!   Hop over to Nancy Womerley's blog to see what she has for you!
