Stampaganza Still Going On!

July is a great month to stock up on your favorite Close To My Heart Stamps!  Our Stampaganza special is still going on.  During this month only (July) you can purchase 2 stamps and get a third stamp for FREE!!

To sweeten the deal Close To My Heart even brought back some retired favorites PLUS a collection of stamps that at one time were available ONLY to our Hostess!  If weren't able to get one during that time, you can get it now!!

I looked back through the Hostess only stamps that are now available to see which ones I had.  I immediately remembered the Paper Birds set (C1613).  I thought it would be fun to create something new with this stamp.

For this card I used the papers and ribbon from Rustic Home Fundamentals.  I have really loved using these papers this past year. These will be retiring at the end of this month!!  I stamped the bird and butterfly onto Cashmere cardstock with Cocoa Ink.  (Also retiring!!).   I added a piece of our Color Of the Year - Sea Glass just behind the ribbon to peek through with a bit of color.

Special Scattered Hearts Stampaganza Blog Hop

Hello my Crafty Friends!!  If you didn't already know... July's Close To My Heart Special is STAMPAGANZA!!  This month, when you purchase 2 stamps you get a 3rd equal or lessor value stamp for FREE!!   What a fun deal!  July is the best time to get your favorite stamps!

I am on the Scattered Hearts Team and we have put together a special Stampaganza Blog Hop just for you!!  We will be sharing some of our favorite stamps!  If you came from Andrea Sherman's Blog, you are in the right place. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to participate at first.  I had not even had a chance to unpack my craft room since my move so finding everything I needed took a little bit of time!  Not mention, clearing my craft table of miscellaneous half unpacked boxes!!

I decided to create a Birthday Card since for me, July is full of birthdays for family members!  I used Wise Guy Birthday (C1662).   This stamp coordinates with our Artistry Cricut Cartridge.

This card is a shaker card.  I cut my frame using the Artistry Cricut Cartridge.  I cut a second from in White Daisy leaving the frame solid cut so that I could use this space for my foam tape. I cut up a 4x6 Flip Flap to use for a window of my Shaker Card.  A piece of lemon stripe B&T from our Adventure Fundamentals serves as the backdrop for the card.

Here is a list of all the products I used:

White Daisy Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254)
Wise Guy Birthday (C1662)
Adventure Fundamentals Paper (Z3253)
White Daisy Cardstock (1385)
Lemon Cardstock (X5785)
Pacifica Ink (Z2892)
Raspberry Ink (Z2812)
Emerald Ink (Z2806)
Tangerine Ink (Z2809)
Prickly Pear Sequins (Z3324)
Artistry Cricut Cartridge (Z3167)
3D Foam Tape (Z1151)
4x6 Flip Flap (Z3231)
Random Sequins (Non CTMH)

You can purchase all of these products from your consultant or at

The next blog on the list is Laura Lee's Blog.  I Hope you have a great time on our hop and check out all the creations using our wonder My Acrylix Stamps! If you get lost, just hop on over to for the full list.

Getting Back to Normal

So... I see that my last blog post was June 19.  WOW.... so much has happened since then.   My daughter got married on May 5th and the next day I told my husband, "I can't wait for my life to get back to normal".   Little did I know that it would be a while for that to happen!

My husband and I have always talked about moving once our girls were grown and on their own.  It was always a dream to find some land and move out away from the hustle and bustle.  We lived in our home in a nice little subdivision on a little less than an acre lot for 23 years.  While we did LOVE where we lived we still had that yearning for trees, woods and nature.   We looked occasionally but not ever with real hard effort.  Taking action was a little scary.  It would mean fixing up our own home, putting it on the market, putting up with showings - and we had a dog that we would have to schedule around!

So, a week after the wedding my oldest daughter sent me a text and said "hey, this house went on the market today and I think you and Dad should take a look at it".   Wow.... it seemed to have everything on paper that we said we wanted... on the other side of town (making our work commutes shorter), 16 1/2 acres (mostly wooded), and even a Mother In Law apartment (because if we moved we really needed to have Jeff's mother move too so we could keep a closer eye on her).  Once we saw all the pictures we knew that we needed to see it in person.  In case you haven't heard, Murfreesboro, TN is one of the TEN fastest growing cities in THE UNITED STATES!  So that means anything with any bit of land is becoming scarce around here and we would need to jump on this quickly.   Sure enough, we had to wait a day and a half to get our turn to see it.  That is how many people were interested.

Jeff and I knew that if this was meant to be, then we had to trust God that He was lead the way.  We were certainly not going to force it to happen.  From there, everything just kind of fell into place.  I think God knew last year that this was going to happen, and He started putting things into motion. For starters, back in the fall of 2016 my other daughter Kayli was showing us a house on facebook that she thought would be perfect for us.  To be able to see ALL the pictures you had to fill out the your information.  Unbeknownst to me, Kayli filled out MY information and shortly later (after Kayli had gone home) this realtor called me!!  We talked and I told her we were not ready to do anything at the time.   She called me off & on after that and I kept putting her off.  I had put her number in my phone so I would know it was her when she called.    So fast forward to May.   I decided to call Misty - this realtor that I had plugged into my phone several months back.   I asked her to take us to see the house.

After finding out that the sellers would not take a sale contingency  - we REALLY needed to get our house ready to put on the market - we felt we had stalled.  We didn't think in today's market - here in Murfreesboro, that selling our home would be hard, but it is scary not knowing.  We didn't want to put in an offer without knowing when/if our house would sell.   About three days later, Misty called me and asked if another agent could look at our house.  WHAT? NO?  we are NOT ready!! But it turns out that he was looking for something for his mom in an established neighborhood that they could fix up.   So long story short, with ALOT of ups and downs, in 4 weeks we sold our house (buyers didn't want us to do anything to it) and we purchased the home of our dreams.

So for the last 4-6 weeks we've been packing, moving and unpacking.  Oh and 4 days after we moved in, I flew out to Salt Lake City Utah for our annual CTMH convention.  What a whirlwind this has been!  Friday night as soon as I got home from work I started setting up my new workshop space. My Saturday Hostess club was coming here for the first time the next day.   Now I'm able to add an extra table and display more product!  I can't wait to start holding more events here.

Here are some pictures of my workshop space:

I've brought up my own personal cricut cartridges and stamps for use during my open crop nights.

Need cardstock?  I've got every color you might ever need?  Stamps? new or used - I've got those tood!  Plus lots of other product!

Cricut Station for open crop nights

I'm sure I'll keep rearranging for a while but for the most part, I think I like the way I have it set up.
People ask me if this is where I craft.   Actually it is not.  I have taken over a bedroom for my own personal crafting space.  I'm too messy and I would have to constantly clean my area if I used the same space as workshop space! Now I'm working on organizing my own craft room. As soon as I get it set up, I'll share those pictures as well!

I'm not sure what God has planned for us here but I can't wait to see!  Stay tuned!  I'll be sharing some upcoming events and more!

Celebrating 100 YEARS with Grandma

I come from a family history of longevity.  Yesterday, we celebrated my Grandma's 100th birthday!! (Her actual birthday is really tomorrow - Monday, June 19th).  My Great Grandma (Grandma's mother) lived to 105 so it was no surprise to us that my grandma would strive to do the same!  So of course, we had to throw her big a party!!   Family from all around came by to wish her a Happy Birthday.

I wanted to do something special for my Grandma and give her something she would enjoy - looking at pictures from the past and reading everyone's birthday wishes!   I took an idea from fellow consultant Karen Pedersen.  Karen shared a guest registry she created for her son's wedding that was an album with layouts that the guests could sign. What a beautiful gift. So, I took Karen's idea and created a similar type album on a smaller scale.   I created 8x8 layouts and included pictures of Grandma through the years.  We had a special table set up, where I placed a couple of layouts on the table at the same time.  As the pages filled with signatures and notes, I would change them out with other layouts.

Now after the party is over, Grandma can enjoy the pictures and sweet notes over and over.

Here are the layouts I created with some specific notes about some of the pages.  Enjoy!

For this album, I used last year's Scrapbooking Month special paper - Happy Times.  I had just enough scraps left that I was able to use most of what I had left!  You will see, that with this type of album, you don't need ALOT of extra papers but I did use ALOT of cardstock!  The "Happy Birthday" and the balloon were both cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge (now retired).  I dug around in my stash and found some paper flowers from years ago!  These were big round flowers that I folded in half and then folded in half again!  I used the mini staple to hold the folds together.   The stem is from the Happy Times stamp set!

For all of my pages I used an 8x8 piece of cardstock for the base page and layered it with White Daisy cut to 7 1/2 x 7 1/2.  Since the pages are smaller I wanted to allow plenty of white space for the signing area so all of my pictures are either 3x4 or 4x3 in size.

Originally I was only going to have the pictures with no headings or names... but as I thought about it, I knew that eventually this album would end up handed down so adding names and dates where I was able became very important.

The flowers stamped on this layout are from the Happy Times Stamp set that was exclusive to National Scrapbooking Month in 2016.  I used Canary and Glacier Inks.

There are a couple of pieces on this layout that are from my stash...... The Glacier Heart washi tape and the Glacier Thick Twine.

This layout is one of my favorites.  My Grandma was a quilter and she had a group of ladies at her church that she quilted with.   Since it was something she loved to do I wanted to be sure to include a picture in her book.  I decided to piece together the pattern papers like a quilt for this page.  I also tied little knots of twine and added with a few wooden buttons.

Here are more paper flowers and a butterfly I found in my stash.  Perfect Accent!

I ended the book with a layout of Grandma and husband Ed.  The picture on the left is a trip they took a few years ago to Venice, Florida.  I love how happy they look.   The picture on the right is probably one of their more recent photos in their new home.  After living on the family farm all her life (the farm had been in the family for over 100 years), she sold it to move to town.

I hope this Guest Book will inspire you!  The concept is a wonderful idea for creating a keepsake - whether for a wedding, milestone anniversary birthday!

Retiring Stamps Blog Hop!

Today our SOTM Blog Hoppers are sharing some artwork created with their favorite stamp sets from our Annual Inspirations catalog which will be retiring August 31st. If you landed here from Michelle Loncar's Blog you are on the right track!  Look for the link at the bottom of my post that will take you to the next blog!

I have several stamp sets from our Annual Inspirations that I love to use over and over.  It was difficult trying to decide which one to feature for this blog hop. But I finally decided on So Many Smiles.  I have used this stamp for cards and layouts!  For this layout I pulled out a few pages from the Enchantment Fundamentals and used the lined notebook page from Memo Fundamentals papers as my base page.  I cut a 5x7 frame from the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge and rather than using it as a frame for the picture, I just used it as part of the page elements.

I stamped cascading circles from So Many Smiles with Sapphire, Ruby and Saffron inks.

Products Used:

So Many Smiles C1619
Memo Fundamentals Z3294
Enchantment Fundamentals Z3254
Sapphire Ink Z2848
Ruby Ink Z2879
Saffron Ink Z2851
Twine - Enchantment Ribbon Pack Z3288
Prickly Pear Sequins Z3324
Marvy Uchida LePen Journaling Pen Z1979

Remember, most of the stamps are retiring JULY 31.  If you have some favorites on your list, get them before they are gone!  Once they are retired they are gone for good.

Now it is time to hop over to Judy Faye Garner's Blog and see which favorite retiring stamp she has to share!

Let's Party!

Today I'm going to share with you one of our Workshop Your Way Cardmaking Kits - Let's Party!  I love these kits because you get everything you need to make 12 cards (just add your ink).

This kit includes 12 cards and envelopes, Burlap Ribbon, sequins, paper and cardstock, and an exclusive stamp set that you will see ONLY in this kit!  There are even FREE instructions that guide you through the cutting and assembly of the cards that can be downloaded from my shopping website.

These are the cards that you can create when you use the instruction guide:

I like to create a few of the cards as shown in the guide. Then I like to venture out on my own and see what kind of design I can come up using the stamp and leftover supplies.  Here are two cards I created using the supplies in this kit.

I love the background stamping I did with Happy Birthday.  I used the Masking Technique to get this look. First, I stamped Happy Birthday on the White Daisy Cardstock.  Then, I stamped "Happy Birthday" on a sticky note and trimmed it out really close.  I placed the stamped sticky note right on top of my Happy Birthday on the white cardstock.  (I like to use sticky notes because the paper is thin and the sticky on the back holds it in place).  Next, I stamped the stars in Tangerine, Glacier and Sorbet all over.  You can see where some overlapped the "Happy Birthday" but because I used the masking technique, it looks like the sentiment is in front of the stars.

For this card, rather than stamping the pennants directly onto the card, I stamped them onto the pattern paper and cut them out.  I used my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to color inside the "Let's Party!" sentiment. To get the Glacier color with my markers, I used Warm Grey 4, Turquoise Blue and the Blender (in this order).

There are endless options with this stamp and I still have plenty of paper and accents left to create even more!

Pocket Plus Memory Protectors
In addition, we also offer our line of Pocket Plus Memory Protectors. These provide the opportunity to add extra photos or artwork to layouts without creating additional 12" x 12" layouts. They feature a full gutter, which allows them to lie flat in post-bound albums. The Memory Protectors Pocket Plus are offered in 4 different designs, each of which includes 10 protectors.

June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Hello Foxy

Welcome to the June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Hello Foxy. This set has 11 stamps. If you have come here from Michele Rowley's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

What a cute stamp set!!  Aren't these little foxes just adorable. For my card, I used Kraft paper and I stamped the images with Chocolate ink. I colored the images with my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. Because I was coloring directly on the kraft cardstock, this gives the colors a more subtle look. I used our Gold Shimmer brush on the green leaves.

I tucked Blush Shimmer Ribbon behind the crochet ribbon.  This is layered on top of a piece of copper foil accent vellum from the Rustic Home Fundamentals paper pack.  My final touch was gold glitter gems.

Products Used:
Colonial White Cards & Envelopes X1410

Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop

Welcome to our Seasonal Expressions 2 New Product Blog Hop! We are showcasing many of the new products in our 2017 Seasonal Expressions 2 that was just released this month! If you have come here from Haley Dyer's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

We have 4 new cardmaking kits in the new SE2 catalog.   I love these kits because they are versatile enough to keep using over and over.  I like to purchase the kit and make at least one of each of the card designs as shown in the instruction guide but then I'll go out on my own and create something different with additional supplies I have on hand.  Today I'm sharing the Workshops Your Way Anniversary Cardmaking Kit and the extra cards I created using the All About the Gold Fundamentals.

This kit includes:
1 – exclusive workshop stamp set (B-size)
1 – sheet No Worries paper
2 – cardstock sheets (1 Sea Glass, 1 Smoothie)
1 – aqua shimmer trim (Z3086)
1 – No Worries sequins (Z3322)
12 – white card bases & envelopes

These are the card designs you can create using the instruction guide for this kit.

Here are 3 cards I created using my leftover kit contents and All About the Gold Fundamentals.  For my 1st card, I used a larger piece of the woodgrain paper and stamped the flowers right onto the paper.  I stamped the heart border across the bottom using Smoothie ink.  I stamped the hearts with Smoothie ink onto the Smoothie cardstock and cut them.

For my 2nd card I added a piece of All About the Gold Fundamentals. I stamped the flowers onto the Smoothie cardstock that is included in the kit and then I fussy cut them out.  I added some aqua shimmer trim and sequins for accents.

For my last card, I used the bold diagonal stripe piece from All About the Gold Fundamental. Before adhering to the card base I make small marks where to stamp my sentiment and then I stamped onto the card base before overlaying with the  All About the Gold Fundamental piece.  I stamped the small rose onto Smoothie cardstock and cut it out.  I stamped the banner onto the Sea Glass cardstock and trimmed it.  I added aqua shimmer trim to finish it off.

NOTE:  When adhering these overlays, apply your adhesive where it will not show.  On the "Happy Anniversary" card, I applied it behind each gold dot.  On the "thanks" card, I applied the adhesive behind the gold stripes.

Products used:
Happy Anniversary Cardmaking WYW Kit - G1131
All About the Gold Fundamentals- Z3246
Black Exclusive Ink - Z2805

You can find all of these products on my website!

Live Beautifully - Smile

Here is Layout #3 that I created with our special Live Beautifully paper pack and stamp set!  This layout features the bold floral paper along with the 2 gold foil designed papers. I was also able to incorporate the diagonal gold zip strips into my layout.  I used Pomegranate Cardstock as my base pages.

I stamped the roses in pomegranate ink, and I also used gold embossing powder to heat emboss two of the roses. I stamped the word "smile" and sentiment in Desert Sand ink.  I have found that this color looks great with the gold embossing. I also used some of the gold glitter complements from the You & Me complements along with a few Gold Glitter Gems.

May is National Scrapbooking Month!  Close To My Heart has several exclusive products available during the month of May to celebrate!  I believe these products will fit every scrapbooker's needs whether they are first time scrappers, experienced scrappers, those that love to stamp and those that love to design their own layouts!  ICYMI - See my May 1 blog post that gives the details on all of our Live Beautifully products HERE.  But, for now, lets get started on the hop! Today, I'm sharing one of the five layouts that I created with the Live Beautifully paper pack.

On this layout, I used the subtle Whisper diagonal stripe paper for my base pages. I chose the sea glass floral paper accented with the 2 gold foil designs. I stamped the flowers onto Whisper Cardstock with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed the White Embossing Powder to get my White Flower accents. Using the Whisper cardstock, gives the flower's line a color that blends with the base pages.  I used Fern ink for the leaves.

I stamped the word "dream" directly onto the layout on the left page and the sentiment on the right.  I added a touch of sea glass glitter paper for trim and Gold Glitter Gems as accents.

This is Bliss - National Scrapbooking Month with Live Beautifully

Today I'm sharing one of the FIVE layouts that I created with our exclusive Live Beautifully Paper.  This is Close To My Heart's special paper for National Scrapbooking Month.  ICYMI - See my May 1 blog post that gives the details on all of our Live Beautifully products HERE.

I love watercolor pages in this pack.  One side is pink and the other side is sea glass color. I used the pink side of this paper for most of the layout cutting off 3" to save for my Thin Cut Hearts and some of the pennants at the bottom.  For the top border, I used the black/white stripe paper that looks like big watercolor brush strokes.  I love how the You & Me Complements go so well with this paper.

The word "bliss" is one of the compliments.  I stamped "this is" from the stamp This & That to complete my title.

Products Used:
Live Beautifully Paper Pack (CC1212B)
You & Me Complements (Z3269)
Black Cardstock (1386)
White Daisy Cardstock (1385)
Thin Cut Hearts (currently unavailable)
