Getting Back to Normal

So... I see that my last blog post was June 19.  WOW.... so much has happened since then.   My daughter got married on May 5th and the next day I told my husband, "I can't wait for my life to get back to normal".   Little did I know that it would be a while for that to happen!

My husband and I have always talked about moving once our girls were grown and on their own.  It was always a dream to find some land and move out away from the hustle and bustle.  We lived in our home in a nice little subdivision on a little less than an acre lot for 23 years.  While we did LOVE where we lived we still had that yearning for trees, woods and nature.   We looked occasionally but not ever with real hard effort.  Taking action was a little scary.  It would mean fixing up our own home, putting it on the market, putting up with showings - and we had a dog that we would have to schedule around!

So, a week after the wedding my oldest daughter sent me a text and said "hey, this house went on the market today and I think you and Dad should take a look at it".   Wow.... it seemed to have everything on paper that we said we wanted... on the other side of town (making our work commutes shorter), 16 1/2 acres (mostly wooded), and even a Mother In Law apartment (because if we moved we really needed to have Jeff's mother move too so we could keep a closer eye on her).  Once we saw all the pictures we knew that we needed to see it in person.  In case you haven't heard, Murfreesboro, TN is one of the TEN fastest growing cities in THE UNITED STATES!  So that means anything with any bit of land is becoming scarce around here and we would need to jump on this quickly.   Sure enough, we had to wait a day and a half to get our turn to see it.  That is how many people were interested.

Jeff and I knew that if this was meant to be, then we had to trust God that He was lead the way.  We were certainly not going to force it to happen.  From there, everything just kind of fell into place.  I think God knew last year that this was going to happen, and He started putting things into motion. For starters, back in the fall of 2016 my other daughter Kayli was showing us a house on facebook that she thought would be perfect for us.  To be able to see ALL the pictures you had to fill out the your information.  Unbeknownst to me, Kayli filled out MY information and shortly later (after Kayli had gone home) this realtor called me!!  We talked and I told her we were not ready to do anything at the time.   She called me off & on after that and I kept putting her off.  I had put her number in my phone so I would know it was her when she called.    So fast forward to May.   I decided to call Misty - this realtor that I had plugged into my phone several months back.   I asked her to take us to see the house.

After finding out that the sellers would not take a sale contingency  - we REALLY needed to get our house ready to put on the market - we felt we had stalled.  We didn't think in today's market - here in Murfreesboro, that selling our home would be hard, but it is scary not knowing.  We didn't want to put in an offer without knowing when/if our house would sell.   About three days later, Misty called me and asked if another agent could look at our house.  WHAT? NO?  we are NOT ready!! But it turns out that he was looking for something for his mom in an established neighborhood that they could fix up.   So long story short, with ALOT of ups and downs, in 4 weeks we sold our house (buyers didn't want us to do anything to it) and we purchased the home of our dreams.

So for the last 4-6 weeks we've been packing, moving and unpacking.  Oh and 4 days after we moved in, I flew out to Salt Lake City Utah for our annual CTMH convention.  What a whirlwind this has been!  Friday night as soon as I got home from work I started setting up my new workshop space. My Saturday Hostess club was coming here for the first time the next day.   Now I'm able to add an extra table and display more product!  I can't wait to start holding more events here.

Here are some pictures of my workshop space:

I've brought up my own personal cricut cartridges and stamps for use during my open crop nights.

Need cardstock?  I've got every color you might ever need?  Stamps? new or used - I've got those tood!  Plus lots of other product!

Cricut Station for open crop nights

I'm sure I'll keep rearranging for a while but for the most part, I think I like the way I have it set up.
People ask me if this is where I craft.   Actually it is not.  I have taken over a bedroom for my own personal crafting space.  I'm too messy and I would have to constantly clean my area if I used the same space as workshop space! Now I'm working on organizing my own craft room. As soon as I get it set up, I'll share those pictures as well!

I'm not sure what God has planned for us here but I can't wait to see!  Stay tuned!  I'll be sharing some upcoming events and more!
