Dad is Rad Blog Hop

Welcome to our special Blog Hop!  Today we are featuring one of our June specials - Dad is Rad!  The products in this workshop kit include the stamp set and other items to create one 12" x 1Lets get started on the hop! If you came from Melinda Everitt's Blog you are on the right track! At the bottom of my post, you will find the link that will take you to the next blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of hoppers HERE.

I was inspired by one of the cards to create this one page layout.  Can you guess which one from the picture above?

I cut 1/4" strips in Sapphire, Crystal Blue, Juniper and Toffee and used White Burlap Ribbon.  To Stamp "Rad" I started with the 'd' and worked backwards inking in Juniper, Crystal Blue and then Sapphire ink. This was a fun layout to create and I liked how it came out!

Remember!  Our special Dad is Rad workshop kit is ONLY available until June 30th!  Contact your consultant to order or you can order from my website HERE:

June Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - A Bushel & a Peck

Welcome to the JuneStamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is A Bushel & a Peck. This adorable stamp has 15 images!! If you came from Michelle Johns' Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop! If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire list of participants HERE.

What an ADORABLE stamp set!  This stamp is a lot of fun for coloring!  Even though this is the JUNE stamp of the month, it made me think of August and autumn colors so I pulled out some Enchantment colors to create my card.  I started with a Sapphire pattern paper from the Enchantment Fundamental paper pack and New England Ivy and Saffron cardstock.

I felt the New England Ivy cardstock piece was too plain, so I used the 'stems and leaves' image to stamp a pattern onto it.  It gave it a nice background texture.  After coloring my bushel of apples, I cut it out and adhered it to my card with 3D foam tape.   To finish my card, I added Gold Glitter Gems - you can get these gems for 25% off in June!

Here are all of the products I used to create my card:
June Stamp of the Month - A Bushel & a Peck
White Daisy Cards & Envelopes (X254)
Enchantment Fundamental Paper (Z3352)
Saffron Cardstock (X5961)**
New England Ivy Cardstock (X5959) **
Gold Glitter Gems (Z3312)**
ShinHan Touch Twin Markers -
   Sap Green Marker (Z2463)
   Pastel Peach Marker (Z2460)
   Marine Blue Marker (Z2458)
   Golden Yellow Marker (Z2452)
   Mahogany Marker (Z2456)
   Clay Marker (Z2451)
   Barely Beige Marker (Z2445)
   Carmine Marker (Z2448)

** These products are 25% off the month of June ONLY!  Saffron cardstock is included in the Yellow Cardstock Bundle (CC6187) Goldrush, Saffron, Canary; New England Ivy is included in the Green Cardstock Bundle (CC6186) New England Ivy, Fern, Sweet Leaf.

Seasonal Expressions 2 Blog Hop

Have you had a chance to check out our newest Seasonal Expressions?  Today our blog hoppers are featuring products from this new book!  This hop will be fun. I can't wait to see what everyone has created. If you came here from Jean McNulty's blog, you are on the right track! The hop is a big circle so when you get back to me, you will know you have visited everyone's blog!  In case you get lost you can find the entire list of hoppers HERE.

When I first looked at the new SE2 catalog, there was one layout that I just fell in LOVE with.  So I decided to create a layout using the Beautiful Friendship paper and Coordinating Cardstock pack.  Here is the page from Seasonal Inspirations that inspired my layout:

I loved the stamped flowers behind the pictures.  So I recreated this same stamping technique using Pattern #11 from our Make It From Your Heart Vol 3.  Here is my version:

The Beautiful Friendship Scrapbooking Stamp has a base and shade flower image.  To stamp the flowers evenly across, I drew a line at the 6" mark and then stamped the large base flower with Bashful ink overlapping the line.  I filled in the spaced with the smaller flowers.  I used Smoothie Ink for the shade image on the flowers.

I added the 4x6 PML card from the paper pack - "True Story" and also a 3x4 PML card for journaling.

Here are the products I used:

Beautiful Friendship - Scrapbooking Stamp - D1779

Other Products Used:
Make It From Your Heart Vol. 3 - 9043
Beautiful Friendship Bows - Z4195
White Ribbon - Z4196
Sapphire Ink - Z2848
Bashful Ink - Z2819
Smoothie Ink - Z2896

National Scrapbooking Month - Postcard Perfect

May is National Scrapbooking Month! Close To My Heart has several exclusive products available during the month of May to celebrate! I believe these products will fit every scrapbooker's needs whether they are first time scrappers, experienced scrappers, those that love to stamp and those that love to design their own layouts! ICYMI - See my May 1 blog post that gives the details on all of our Postcard Perfect products HERE. But, for now, lets get started on the hop! If you came from Katy Taylor's Blog you are on the right track! At the bottom of my post, you will find the link that will take you to the next blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the complete list of hoppers HERE.

After months of dreary cold and rainy weather, working with this FRESH FUN paper was so much fun!  I created a one page layout that I plan to put into a frame.  This picture was taken by the Indian Ocean in Phuket, Thailand.  This was a trip my husband and I went on in February that I earned with Close To My Heart!

For this layout I used the ombre waves paper with the palm leave vellum as an overlay.  (See the picture below which shows the papers I used) To hide the adhesive that shows through the vellum, I added it at the top and the bottom of the ombre page, layered the vellum and then covered vellum with zip strips!  I used many of the cut out accents to embellishment my page.   Can you find where I used the "CHILL" accent?  I turned it around to hide the words behind my 'title' showing only the 'blue tile'.

Products Used:
Postcard Perfect Paper Pack
Postcard Perfect Coordinating Cardstock
Black & White Dots
White Twine

THAT'S IT!!

The Postcard Perfect products are only available
during the Month of May! (while supplies last)

May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Classic Summer Bash

Welcome to the May Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Classic Summer Bash. It has 25 images!! If you came from Jean McNulty's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop!

What a fun stamp!!  I love the jar and I couldn't wait to create something.  I decided to do a scrapbook page.

I wanted my jar to look like it had lemonade in it and I wanted the straw to look as if it was IN the lemonade, not just on top of the jar image.  So, after a lot of trial and error of different techniques, I decided to stamped my jar with peacock pigment ink onto vellum paper. I used clear embossing powder to heat emboss the ink.  Next, I sponged Lemon ink on the back of the jar.   I used the same embossing technique for the ice cube using Pewter Pigment Ink and added the ice to the back of the jar to show through.
I stamped the straw with Sorbet ink, cut it and an inserted the straw in a slit I made at the top of the jar.  So part of the straw is inside the jar and the top of the straw is out.
Here is a closer look:

When I first stamped the lemons with Lemon Ink, I didn't feel like they showed up enough on the page so I decided to stamp them with pigment ink and again used the clear embossing powder to heat emboss the lemons.  They really pop on the page now.

I added some splashes of color on the White Daisy base page.   Giving the page the the "spilled lemonade" look.  :)

Here are the products I used on this page:
White Daisy Cardstock
Sorbet Cardstock
Lagoon Cardstock
Sorbet Ink
Lagoon Ink
Lemon Ink
Peacock Pigment Ink
Lemon Pigment Ink
Pewter Pigment Ink
VersaMark Ink
Clear Embossing Powder

Remember!!  This stamp is available only during the month of May!
Get it for $5 with a $50 purchase!

Picture My Life Blog Hop - Put Your PML Cards to Good Use!

Today we have a fun blog hop for you - and it's one of my favorite things!  Using those Picture My Life Cards!!  If you came here from Brandi Robinson's Blog, you are on the right track!  This hop is big circle so when you get back to me, you will have completed the hop!  Look for the next blog to hop to at the bottom of my post.

Originally, the Picture My Life cards were created to make scrapbooking easier for those that didn't want to 'scrapbook'.  It was a quick and easy way to make your albums look great just by adding the beautiful cards along with your photographs into pocket pages.   Many people still use them that way today.  But leave it to CTMH Consultants to find OTHER ways to use these cards!  When these cards were introduced, consultants began creating cards with them because they were a QUICK way to make some beautiful cards!  I, for one, LOVE using them this way.

Close To My Heart's paper packs include 2 sheets of paper that are cut apart PML cards.  The great thing about these cards is that one side can be used vertically and the other side can be used horizontally.  Awesome, Right??   After I've created my layouts using the papers I always have leftover scraps and PML cards.  So, it only make sense to use everything I can!  Today I'm sharing a card I created from my leftovers of the Gimme Some Sugar paper pack!  Can you tell which THREE PML cards I used??

Two were probably easy to pick out.... but the third one?   I cut out "LIFE IS SHORT" from the 4x6 card (see below) to use as part of my sentiment!

Here are all the supplies I used to create this card:
White Daisy Cards & Envelopes Value Pack - X254*
White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack -X7228B*
Gimme Some Sugar Cork Shapes - Z4153*
Gimme Some Sugar Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts - Z4156*
Watercolor Pencils (out of stock)
Waterbrush - Small  Round - Z3224
Thin Cuts—Party Banners Z4152*
Heather Exclusive Ink - Z2826
Charcoal Exclusive Ink - Z2831

* - Retires April 30, 2018!

Contact your consultant today to order or if you do not have one, you can order here:

I hope you enjoyed my card!  Let's see what other creative PML things are in store! Hop over to Michelle Loncar's Blog and see what she has created!

It's a Southern Thing

I realized that I have been neglecting my blog!  Not totally because I do participate in at least 2 blog hops a month to keep my blog active but it's been a while since I've posted artwork just for sharing.  Life gets busy sometimes and I do what I can that is the quickest.   I have a decent size following in my Facebook Group so I admit, that is where I've been the most active.   You can find it at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/StampinHeaven/   Ask to join!  I'd love to have you.  (Please note - this is a closed group for anyone that loves Close To My Heart.  Although I LOVE my CTMH Sisters - this group is not for other CTMH Consultants.)

So what have I been up to???  The year started out VERY busy with a Winter Retreat and then a trip for my husband I to Thailand!  The trip was earned through Close To My Heart!  What an amazing opportunity!!  I had no idea over 11 years ago when I joined CTMH that I would be going to places I never dreamed of!  Now, here we are in April - it's almost over already and we are almost finished with our Seasonal Expressions 1 book!  Today I'm sharing a card I created with the Gimme Some Sugar paper pack and compliments.  I LOVE this paper!  The colors, the flowers... oh it speaks spring and we so need that here in Middle Tennessee.  (I'm tired of getting teased with warm weather and then the next day pulling out my winter coat!)

So for everyone dealing with the crazy springtime weather, I say:

I know what you are dealing with.   This card was REALLY quick to create.  I had put together the Gimme Some Sugar Workshop Your Way Kit and had leftover papers and complements.  So I created this card!  The flowery piece of paper you see is one of the leftover Picture My Life Cards that is included in the paper pack.  I used some of the stickers to layer on top of the kraft flower and heart.  I just love the little cork shapes!!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:
White Daisy Cards & Envelopes Value Pack - X254
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack -X7228B
Gimme Some Sugar Complements - X7228C
Gimme Some Sugar Cork Shapes - Z4153
Juniper Cardstock - X5979
Adventure Fundamental Ribbon (Yellow Polka Dot) - Z3362

The Gimme Some Sugar products all retire April 30!!  So if you love this paper as much as I do, you will want to order before it's gone!!  You can order directly from my website at:

April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Color Your Life

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Color Your Life. It has 12 images!! If you came from Michelle Loncar's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop!

Many times I'll make a card for the featured Stamp of the Month, mostly because it's quick and easy.  But this time, this stamp just said LAYOUT to me.  I knew that I needed to showcase this stamp in a layout.  I had a vision in my mind what I wanted to do but needed a layout sketch for my jumping off point.  So I grabbed my Make It From Your Heart Vol 4 and started thumbing through the sketches.  I came across Pattern #11 which I thought would work perfectly with just a little adjustment to the pages.  (Instead of have the pretty papers on the outside edges of the layout like the sketch, I turned them so that they would be on the inner edges - leaving plenty of room to stamp on base pages!)

I created a banner for each of the large words by painting swashes of watercolor paint on watercolor paper.  Once it dried, I stamped the words and cut out the banners.  I used Gimme Some Sugar paper for this layout so I mixed my watercolors to create tangerine and juniper colors to coordinate.  My photo mats are the Blossom washed watercolor papers from the Adventure Fundamental Paper pack.  All of the flowers on the layout were actually hand cut from paper.  The large cluster on the left page is from one of the PML cut apart cards that is included in the paper pack.

Here are a couple of close ups of the layout.

Products used:
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack - X7228B
Adventure Fundamentals Paper Pack - Z3351
White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Watercolor Paper - Z3146
Watercolor Paints - Z3132
Waterbrush-Medium Flat - Z3226
Heather Ink - X5948
Sparkles - Z3274
3D Foam Tape - Z1151
Thin Foam Tape - Z2060

I hope you enjoyed this layout and this inspires you to create something!
You can purchase this stamp for just $5 with a $50 purchase!  Contact your consultant to order, or if you do not have one, you can order from my website:

If you came from Catherine Nowak's blog you are on the right track! Just look for the link for the next blog at the bottom of my post and keep on hoppin'! When you get back to me you will know you completed the hop! This is going to be FUN!!

Here is the layout that I created with this bundle.  I still have plenty of cardstock and embellishments left to create another layout.

I used the Sapphire, Cranberry and Flaxen pieces of cardstock for this layout.  This layout could be used for a Carnival Themed Birthday or even Theme Park visit!   I stamped a pattern onto the Flaxen cardstock with the argyle stamp using the same color - Flaxen ink.  I used 2nd generation stamping so that it would be a lighter pattern.  I also used Sapphire, Cranberry and Flaxen inks to stamp the stars in a scattered pattern across the two pages.

Creating the 2 color Ferris wheel was easy.  I just stamped it twice, once in Sapphire and once in Cranberry.  Then I cut out the inside of the Ferris wheel (star pattern) and attached it to the top of the Sapphire Ferris Wheel.  I did cut away the Cranberry legs of the Ferris Wheel so that the Sapphire color would show. Here is a closer look:

Here is closer look at my title created with the word FUN.  I accented it with stamped popcorn and the "Make a Wish" Banner.

I had so much fun creating this layout.  Here are the products I used to create this layout.
