December Stamp of the Month - Candy Cane Alphabet

Welcome to the December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Candy Cane Alphabet. This is a fun holiday stamp set for creating titles and more!! If you came from Darly Recker's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop! If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire list of participants HERE.

I created this one page layout with our Oh What Fun paper pack.  When I had the pieces all laid out to glue on I felt that the white background for the base page was just too plain.  The border across the top of the page was so busy, so I wanted my base page to have a subtle print. So, I got venturous and pulled out my Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.  I added several drops of Sugarplum Shimmer brush to get that nice pink color.  I created a template of assorted trees from the Artbooking and You are Here cricut cartridge.  I thought it was kind of cool that they were similar in shape to the trees in the paper.

Here is the stencil I created with the trees.

And a close up view of the finished base page.  I love the shiny look of the Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.  It gave just the right amount of background that I was looking for.

To get the Scalloped edge for my title, I used the Thin Cut-Decorative Border across the White Daisy Cardstock.  Then I stamped the title with the Candy Cane Alphabet in Pomegranate ink.

The candy canes are from the hot chocolate image on the Seasons of Joy cricut cartridge.  I sliced them off so that I could use the candy canes without the cup. (I LOVE Design Space for this ability!) The house is from You Are Here. For the base of the house, I used paper from our Seasons Mix-ins paper pack.

November Stamp of the Month - Seasonal Trees

Welcome to the November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Seasonal Trees. This stamp set has 23 images with a tree for every season!! If you came from Darly Recker's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop! If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire list of participants HERE.

Because fall is in the air right now (finally!) I wanted to create a tree with changing colors of leaves!  To get the different colors, I used sponge daubers to daub on colors of Saffron, Goldrush, Fern and New England Ivy.  I stamped the birdhouse in Glacier - first directly on my cardstock and then again on another piece and cut it out.  I also cut out the bird after stamping it with pomegranate ink.  My card features the papers of Grateful Heart and Seasons Mix-ins!  Can you find the Seasons Mix-in paper?  I used the Decorative Borders - Thin Cuts on the Seasons Mix In paper and the Stitched Borders stamp set along the edge of the Grateful Heart paper!  The stamped "THANK YOU" is from Just a Little Something stamp set.

With the holiday's just around the corner, I had to create a Christmas card! This time used 'Tis the Season paper pack.  I stamped the tree and the leaves and then used the tiny little ornament to stamp Chrstimas balls on the tree.  I used my red Shimmer Brush on top of each ball.  The "Happy Holidays" stamps is from the Just A Little Something stamp set.

Holiday Sparkle/Season Of Joy Blog Hop

Welcome to our special Blog Hop featuring our Holiday Sparkle card kit and our Seasons Of Joy cricut cartridge! The Holiday Sparkle card kit is a fun Cut Above shaker card kit that includes everything you need to create 12 shaker cards including PRE-PRINTED card bases!! This kit is only available during the month of October but you won't want to wait to get it. This kit is so popular it may sell out before the end of the month!

Our other new product we are featuring in this hop is our Seasons of Joy cricut cartridge!  This collection features over 45 images and projects including several seasonal icons, titles, and sentiments, as well as a collection of 3-D projects that you can create after a few simple cuts on your Cricut® machine.

I can't wait to see what everyone has created! If you came from Debi McBain's blog you are in the right spot! The hop is a big circle so when you get back to me, you will know that you completed the hop.

I decided to combine the two products and alter our Holiday Sparkle cards using the Seasons of Joy cricut cartridge!

For thiscard I used the Silent Night Image from Seasons of Joy.   I ungrouped the image so that I could delete the back layer.  I also sliced off the tabs that make the image stand up.  I cut 7 layers of "Silent" so that it would be even with my Shaker and I could overlap.  I also added clear shimmer brush to the 1st layer and the trees.

I had so much fun combining the two products, I've decided to do some more! I'll be sharing those in the coming week.

I thought this stamp was perfect for a fall layout.  Right now I am just LOVING the Grateful Heart paper pack!   I created the pages in the Workshop Your Way kit and had plenty of paper to create a 4th layout by adding a few sheets of cardstock!  This is Pattern #15 from our Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 book.

I used the stamp as a background to my layering of complements.   Here is a little bit of a closer look:

I stamped the heart in Pomegranate Ink and rolled it in Espresso Ink.

Holiday Expressions New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our Holiday Expressions New Product Blog Hop!  Our newest catalog was just released on September 1 and there are so many AWESOME new products!  Deciding what to feature for this blog hop was a tough choice!  I can't wait to see what everyone has created!  If you came from Michelle Loncar's blog you are in the right spot!  The hop is a big circle so when you get back to me, you will know that you completed the hop.

Let's get started.   For my New Product Feature I decided to showcase several new products including a new technique!

Check out my card, which is LOADED with lots of new goodies!

When I decided to create a card using our new COLOR OF THE YEAR - SUGARPLUM, I needed help deciding which colors to use with it!  So I grabbed our new Love Of Color book to see what was suggested.  This new How To book features every color in the Close To My Heart's color palette in wonderful combinations along with beautiful artwork on every page!
To compliment my Sugarplum choice, I used Sapphire, Sage and Linen.

Next decision...... which new Thin Cut tag?? The new Fancy Tags thin cuts have 10 tags - 4 of them having stitching!  To use as many tags as possible, I chose 4 to layer.  You can see two of the tags I used had the stitching.  The little tab behind the sage tag is one of the tags also.

I stamped my tags with Grateful Heart Cardmaking Stamp using Charcoal, Sage and Sugarplum inks.

I couldn't wait to try out our new texture paste!  Using Design space, I chose a butterfly from our Artisty cricut cartridge and duplicated it a few times, then welded them together.  I cut it out on the new Stencil sheets.  Using the Matte Texture paste and my butterfly stencil, I added the texture paste to the lower corner of my card.  It dries pretty quickly.  After applying the 2 sapphire cardstock strips for my accent color, I stamped around the edges with our new Stitched Borders stamp right on top of the texture paste!

I gathered all the tags and tied them together with Mink Twine and added some Sugarplum gems.

Here are all the products I used to created this card:
White Cards and Envelopes - X254
Love Of Color - 9045
Sugarplum Cardstock - X5989
Sapphire Cardstock - X6021
Sage Cardstock - X5993
Linen Cardstock - X6009
Fancy Tags Thin Cuts - Z4305
Grateful Heart Cardmaking Stamp - C1727
Stitched Borders Stamp - C1748
Charcoal Ink - Z2831
Sugarplum Ink - Z6500
Sage Ink - Z6504
Texture Paste Opaque Matte - Z4245
Palette Knives - Z4247
Mink Twine - Z4221
Sugarplum Glitter Gems - Z4192
Artisty Cricut Cartridge
Stencil Sheets - Z4244
Dual Action Glue Pen - Z553
3D Foam Tape - Z1151

I hope you enjoyed my card!  Contact your consultant to purchase any of these products.  If you do not have a consultant, you can shop from my website here:

September Stamp of the Month - Just Treats

Welcome to the September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Just Treats. This fun stamp set has 22 images!! If you came from Lauren Moore's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop! If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire list of participants HERE.

I love this stamp because it covers Halloween to Christmas with some Thankfulness in between!  So many occasions all in one stamp!  I chose to create a Thankful card using our new Boutique paper featuring our Color of the Year - Sugarplum!

I brushed some Sugarplum Shimmer onto the white cardstock before stamping the sentiment in Peacock ink.  I love how this shimmer looks!  I wanted a decorative tea cup so stamped right onto the pattern paper and cut it out.  I added a bit of trim with the Sugarplum Glitter paper and also used the new Border Stitches on both sides.  The new Mink Twine and Sugarplum Glitter gems add the final touch.

Here is a close up of the Sugarplum Shimmer Brush!

Sign Up for Fall Virtual Card Making Classes!

I'm SOOO excited about the next session of Virtual Cardmaking Classes!
What is a Virtual Class? And why would YOU want to take it?
What do you get out of it?
I started doing the Virtual Class for several reasons. Maybe one of these reasons applies you?
  1. The date and time of an actual workshop does not always work with everyone's schedule. Especially in the fall with school activities going on!
  2. I work full time - so can only do classes in the evening. Going to class while your kids are in school is easier or you don't like driving at night.
  3. I live in Murfreesboro, TN - you live several hours (or days) away!
  4. You like to be crafty at 2am.... I don't (I used to...my body just doesn't allow it anymore!)
  5. You've never created cards. If you are only a scrapbooker, creating cards can be intimidating! I KNOW! When I went to create my first card I was STUCK on where to start!!
  6. You are afraid to cut your paper. You might cut something wrong and you only have one chance to get it right! (Believe me - I've had this fear when I know I have ONE CHANCE to get it right!)
  7. You are not afraid of cutting your paper wrong - you just hate taking the time to cut it! Honestly, some people just do not enjoy cutting paper!
This is a 4 month class. The price of the basic kit each month will always be $28. You will have the option to add 1-3 ink pads at $9.50 each (ALWAYS OPTIONAL).
The kits are our awesome Workshop Your Way Cardmaking Kits but what makes these kits different is I will order and PRE-CUT the materials for you! When your kit arrives in the mail from me, you will have everything that comes in the original kit PLUS your leftover scraps (you can create more cards!) and the pieces for each card will be sorted into marked envelopes! Now all you have to do is stamp and assemble! ALSO, when I ship the kits to the members they will get an extra little "happy" (something that you can use on your cards that is not included in the actual kit!)
What do these kits include: (See photo below for a recent kit that was shipped)
1. 12 Cards & Envelopes
2. SORTED Pre-Cut Papers plus scraps
3. Embellishments
4. Exclusive Stamp set
5. Printed Instruction Guide
6. EXTRA HAPPY from me!
When you join my fall session of classes, you will be sent a link to join a FACEBOOK GROUP CLASSROOM. On or close to the 15th of the month (depends on which day it falls) I will post a Facebook LIVE video in the private classroom group showing how to create each card - walking you through each step start to finish. You can follow along with me LIVE or watch when it is convenient for you! Have a question? Ask away! Share you creations!
ATTENDING CLASS OFFERS A BONUS: In addition to the cards we create in the kit, I share 2 additional cards I created using the same pre-cut pieces in different ways to create a 2nd look! These extra cards aren't shared anywhere else - so attending class is the only way you'll see them! I'll give you stamping tips along the way.
Even though the actual WYW kits will be increasing in price starting September, I'm going to keep the base price of the kits at $28 for this session. This prices includes the pre-cutting of kit, ALL of your kit materials including the stamp set and guide, and priority mail shipping to you! I am NOT including the cost of shipping the kit to me first. Each additional ink added will be $9.50. All payments for the class are through Paypal.
Our first Class will be Hugs for You.
Ink colors needed to create these cards are: Charcoal, Saffron & Sugarplum
Sign up BEFORE September 3 and I will mail you a NEW 2018 Holiday Expressions!

Bring Back My Pack - More Magical

Today we have a special blog hop for you!  We are sharing our creations using the Magical Paper Pack that Close To My Heart has brought back in their BRING BACK MY PACK campaign.  The Magical Paper Pack has become even MORE MAGICAL with some updated colors that will be introduced in our upcoming Holiday Expressions (debuting September 1 to customers!). If you came from Michelle Stewart's Blog you are on the right track!  The hop is a big circle so when you get back to me you will know you completed the hop. This is a small hop so you will get through it in a breeze!

I created all the layouts that were in the instruction guide that you can download when you order the Magical Bundle. I had so much fun (they were quick and easy to put together) I wanted to keep going!  Right now I have this THING with our new Stitched Thin Cuts.  I LOVE them!  I wanted to use them on a page with Magical so I pulled out my Stitched Circle Thin Cuts and cut a bunch of circles from pieces of Magical papers and some from the Coordinating Cardstock pack (There are TWO New colors in it!).

Here is my page I created.... I'm kind of giddy about it actually.  I hope you like it!

I used the new Carolina Blue as my base page and cut a White Daisy down to 10 3/4 x 10 3/4.  Then I just scattered the circles around.  My title is from the You Are Here Cricut Cartridge.  I drew stitched lines around the white daisy edge to give it a finished look.

Product Used:

More Magical Paper Packet (CC8181) - $10.95
More Magical Coordinating Cardstock (CC8182) - $9.95

White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Black & White Dots - Z3314
Marvi Uchida LePen Journaling Pen - Z1979

This fun paper pack will only be available While Supplies Last through September 30!

August Stamp of the Month - For the Love of Crafting

Welcome to the August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp isFor the Love of Crafting. This fun stamp set has 9 images!! If you came from Melissa Robinson's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop! If you get lost along the way, you can see the entire list of participants HERE.

I know that many of my customers have been waiting for this month to get here because of this stamp set!  There are so many crafty images and sayings in this set.  When we attend Close To My Heart's convention, it is tradition to get your convention roomies a little something. I decided to use this stamp set to make a fun gift for my convention roomies this year.

I started with a bunch of 1 3/4" stitched hearts thin cuts in lots of bright colors and added them to a white background.  Next I stamped several of the images and cut them out.  I used my ShinHan Touch Twin markers to color the letters.  Then I worked with the images and a few extra hearts (a larger and smaller heart than my background hearts) to create  dimension.  I made layers using 3D foam tape and dots along with Thin foam tape and dots.  My final touch was to scatter some bitty sparkles around on the heart background.

I found the 5x7 shadow box frame at Michael's.  I made three of these.  I'm kind of sad that I gave them all away because now I don't have one for myself!  I'm thinking about making a larger version for a bigger frame.  We shall see where that ends up on my TO DO list.

Here are the products I used on this project:
Cardstock:
Lagoon
Pacifica
Willow
Tangerine
Lemon
Pansy
Raspberry
Blossom
Inks:  Black Ink & Willow Ink
ShinHan Touch Twin Markers:
3D Foam Tape
3D Dots
Thin Foam Tape
Thin 3D Dots
Stitched Hearts Thin Cuts
Bitty Sparkles

Get this stamp during AUGUST ONLY!!!
It's just $5 with a $50 purchase!

I can't WAIT to see what everyone else has done with this stamp!  Let's head over to  Alyson Mayo's Blog and see what she has to share!
