New ONLINE Summer Card Workshop!

Hello Friends!

I have some exciting news!
This summer I will be conducting an ONLINE Card Workshop

Join me each month for online class to create 2 different cards!  I will show you stamping techniques and other hints.  Also you will get to see other examples of cards that you can create with your stamp and the supplies in your kit!

What are the benefits of doing this on-line class?
  1. Have luxury of doing a card class when it is convenient for YOU!!
  2. No pressure of getting your cards finished in a certain amount of time.
  3. Have a question?  Re-watch the video at any time!  Ask questions! I'll be there to answer because I'm always checking into the classroom!
  4. Learn a new technique each month.

Here are details on how this class will work:

  • Each month you will receive a workshop kit in the mail from me with full directions, 12 cards and envelopes, card pieces and accents. Your paper will be pre-cut - This will be a bonus for you and will save you time!  No more fear of making the wrong cut!
  • In addition to your kit, you will receive an extra surprise goodie!

  • I will post a list of ink colors you will need (2-3 each month). You will have the option to add one or more to your order.

  • A FACEBOOK GROUP CLASSROOM will be created for the summer session and you can join once I have confirmed your participation. Once you are confirmed (payment received) I will send you a link to join the class (starting May 1). This will be a closed group that is only available to those attending the class. I will post a video on the 15th of each month walking you through how to stamp and create the techniques for each of the cards shown above. I will also show examples of additional cards so that you can create different looks for your cards.
  • The monthly fee for each class is $28. Remember - this INCLUDES pre-cut paper and cardstock, a stamp, accents, and an extra goodie! This also includes tax and shipping to you - Priority Mail so that you will get is as soon as I have prepped your kit!
What if you love to cut your own paper?

No Problem!  You can go to my website and order the uncut kit!  It will come the same amount of cards, accents and stamp!  You will still be able to join my class!  When you order the kit, just send me and email to request the link to the class.  I'll send you the link and you can request to join!

Picture My Life Blog Hop - Put Your PML Cards to Good Use!

Today we have a fun blog hop for you - and it's one of my favorite things!  Using those Picture My Life Cards!!  If you came here from Brandi Robinson's Blog, you are on the right track!  This hop is big circle so when you get back to me, you will have completed the hop!  Look for the next blog to hop to at the bottom of my post.

Originally, the Picture My Life cards were created to make scrapbooking easier for those that didn't want to 'scrapbook'.  It was a quick and easy way to make your albums look great just by adding the beautiful cards along with your photographs into pocket pages.   Many people still use them that way today.  But leave it to CTMH Consultants to find OTHER ways to use these cards!  When these cards were introduced, consultants began creating cards with them because they were a QUICK way to make some beautiful cards!  I, for one, LOVE using them this way.

Close To My Heart's paper packs include 2 sheets of paper that are cut apart PML cards.  The great thing about these cards is that one side can be used vertically and the other side can be used horizontally.  Awesome, Right??   After I've created my layouts using the papers I always have leftover scraps and PML cards.  So, it only make sense to use everything I can!  Today I'm sharing a card I created from my leftovers of the Gimme Some Sugar paper pack!  Can you tell which THREE PML cards I used??

Two were probably easy to pick out.... but the third one?   I cut out "LIFE IS SHORT" from the 4x6 card (see below) to use as part of my sentiment!

Here are all the supplies I used to create this card:
White Daisy Cards & Envelopes Value Pack - X254*
White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack -X7228B*
Gimme Some Sugar Cork Shapes - Z4153*
Gimme Some Sugar Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts - Z4156*
Watercolor Pencils (out of stock)
Waterbrush - Small  Round - Z3224
Thin Cuts—Party Banners Z4152*
Heather Exclusive Ink - Z2826
Charcoal Exclusive Ink - Z2831

* - Retires April 30, 2018!

Contact your consultant today to order or if you do not have one, you can order here:

I hope you enjoyed my card!  Let's see what other creative PML things are in store! Hop over to Michelle Loncar's Blog and see what she has created!

It's a Southern Thing

I realized that I have been neglecting my blog!  Not totally because I do participate in at least 2 blog hops a month to keep my blog active but it's been a while since I've posted artwork just for sharing.  Life gets busy sometimes and I do what I can that is the quickest.   I have a decent size following in my Facebook Group so I admit, that is where I've been the most active.   You can find it at:   Ask to join!  I'd love to have you.  (Please note - this is a closed group for anyone that loves Close To My Heart.  Although I LOVE my CTMH Sisters - this group is not for other CTMH Consultants.)

So what have I been up to???  The year started out VERY busy with a Winter Retreat and then a trip for my husband I to Thailand!  The trip was earned through Close To My Heart!  What an amazing opportunity!!  I had no idea over 11 years ago when I joined CTMH that I would be going to places I never dreamed of!  Now, here we are in April - it's almost over already and we are almost finished with our Seasonal Expressions 1 book!  Today I'm sharing a card I created with the Gimme Some Sugar paper pack and compliments.  I LOVE this paper!  The colors, the flowers... oh it speaks spring and we so need that here in Middle Tennessee.  (I'm tired of getting teased with warm weather and then the next day pulling out my winter coat!)

So for everyone dealing with the crazy springtime weather, I say:

I know what you are dealing with.   This card was REALLY quick to create.  I had put together the Gimme Some Sugar Workshop Your Way Kit and had leftover papers and complements.  So I created this card!  The flowery piece of paper you see is one of the leftover Picture My Life Cards that is included in the paper pack.  I used some of the stickers to layer on top of the kraft flower and heart.  I just love the little cork shapes!!

Here are the supplies I used for this card:
White Daisy Cards & Envelopes Value Pack - X254
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack -X7228B
Gimme Some Sugar Complements - X7228C
Gimme Some Sugar Cork Shapes - Z4153
Juniper Cardstock - X5979
Adventure Fundamental Ribbon (Yellow Polka Dot) - Z3362

The Gimme Some Sugar products all retire April 30!!  So if you love this paper as much as I do, you will want to order before it's gone!!  You can order directly from my website at:

April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Color Your Life

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Color Your Life. It has 12 images!! If you came from Michelle Loncar's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop!

Many times I'll make a card for the featured Stamp of the Month, mostly because it's quick and easy.  But this time, this stamp just said LAYOUT to me.  I knew that I needed to showcase this stamp in a layout.  I had a vision in my mind what I wanted to do but needed a layout sketch for my jumping off point.  So I grabbed my Make It From Your Heart Vol 4 and started thumbing through the sketches.  I came across Pattern #11 which I thought would work perfectly with just a little adjustment to the pages.  (Instead of have the pretty papers on the outside edges of the layout like the sketch, I turned them so that they would be on the inner edges - leaving plenty of room to stamp on base pages!)

I created a banner for each of the large words by painting swashes of watercolor paint on watercolor paper.  Once it dried, I stamped the words and cut out the banners.  I used Gimme Some Sugar paper for this layout so I mixed my watercolors to create tangerine and juniper colors to coordinate.  My photo mats are the Blossom washed watercolor papers from the Adventure Fundamental Paper pack.  All of the flowers on the layout were actually hand cut from paper.  The large cluster on the left page is from one of the PML cut apart cards that is included in the paper pack.

Here are a couple of close ups of the layout.

Products used:
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack - X7228B
Adventure Fundamentals Paper Pack - Z3351
White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Watercolor Paper - Z3146
Watercolor Paints - Z3132
Waterbrush-Medium Flat - Z3226
Heather Ink - X5948
Sparkles - Z3274
3D Foam Tape - Z1151
Thin Foam Tape - Z2060

I hope you enjoyed this layout and this inspires you to create something!
