August SOTM Blog Hop - Floral Celebration

Welcome to our August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  In this blog hop we are featuring Floral Celebration This stamp set includes 20 images.  If you arrived here from Becca Whitham's Blog you are on the right track.  This hop is a big circle.  Just look for the next blog link at the bottom of my post.  If you are just getting started on the hop, when you get back to me you will know you have completed the circle!  If you get lost along the way, you can find the entire list of hoppers HERE.

When I first started my project with this stamp, it was originally going to be a card.   I looked through several How To Books looking for a pattern to use, and perused a few catalogs for ideas.  I pulled out my current pack of Mix In papers determined to use those - because I LOVE THEM SO!   By the time I decided what I would do I needed to stop as I had other things I needed to do.  (like WORK - lol).  So I left my craft table for a while.   While away, an idea suddenly came to me.  I remembered a picture that my daughter posted of her and her sister of a recent trip they took.  The colors just struck me.  All the sudden I knew what I wanted to do.   I love it when ideas hit that way... it makes creating so much easier.   This is one of my favorites pages that I have done!  I found my black shadowbox frame and placed this page in it.  It needs to be on the wall for a while.

I used a combination of stamping directly on the page and also stamping with fussy cutting to add dimension to my page.  The flowers that were more solid images were stamped directly on the page with Smoothie, Peach and Glacier inks.  Here is what it looked like before I began added all the other pieces:

Then I chose the 'outline' flowers to use with the same color of cardstock as the inks for the fussy cut flowers.  I stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with White Embossing powder.  Here is a close up of the added flowers:
