When I received the new Close To My Heart Spring Summer Idea Book and saw the Fabulous You stamp (C1533) I immediately knew I had to have this set for my mom.  She loves birds and flowers. My Mother's birthday was on Sunday and I've been saving this stamp to make a special Birthday card for her. I used the Chantilly paper for my card.  I cut the doily with my Artiste Cricut Cartridge using the Accent 1 <1> key.  Then I stamped the image in the center.   I used a combination of blending pen and ink pad along with our alcohol markers (Olive and Creme Brulee) to color the bird and flowers. I sponged the edges with Cashmere ink.  My favorite accent - Pearl Flourishes add a beautiful touch the card. I used Sketch #21 from CAS(E) this Sketch . Boy does my little corner of StampinHeaven miss me!  Luckily I've got a few cards in my stash I haven't shared, so although I've been sitting at softball fields and NOT in my craft room I still have a few things to share so my poor little blog is so lonely. Here is a card I created a while back.  I was inspired by this sketch from Paper Trey Ink -                                                         My card didn't quite come out with the angle I intended like the sketch above.  When I saw the sketch I knew immediately that I wanted to use our new Chantilly textiles (Z1819) and the Hollyhock Zipper Lace (Z1826) .  I used Chantilly paper (X7163B) for this card because it reminds me of Spring! It's been almost another whole week and nothing new from my little corner of StampinHeaven.  I tell you, that little corner has been lonely lately.   I sat at a ball tournament all weekend and into the wee hours of the morning on Sunday.  After six games on Saturday the girls got 2nd place in the Championship Game.  It was a long long day and I had no motivation on Sunday to do much. I did eventually find my way into the room though.  I needed to make a card for an upcoming gathering I'm doing on Sunday for a friend.  I prefer to call it a mini-workshop though, as no one really likes to go to parties much anymore.   When I design a card for a gathering such as this, I try to   think of my audience.  Are they seasoned crafters, new to the stamping world or just dabblers here and there.  I wanted to design something that wasn't too labor intensive and scare off potential crafters but yet detailed enough to inspire even a seasoned crafter...

Ah!  I've neglected my blog for over a week!  That is so unlike me!  I went to our annual retreat at Petticoat Junction last weekend so you would think I'd be sharing tons of creations!  I did get some things done but I was working ahead preparing for upcoming club projects and Stamp of the Month Artwork.  So, those things I will share a bit later.  I like to use the retreat time - especially the one in the Spring to get ahead because starting this week, my evenings will be filled with softball games for the next 2 months!  We had our first home game last night and it was pretty darn windy and cold!   I do have a card to share that I made a few weeks ago.   I have been using our new textiles lately trying out different techniques.  I couldn't wait to try a ruffle with the new Hollyhock Lace Zipper.  I used the lace zipper to hide my stitching for the ruffle.    Recipe: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 White Daisy Card Stamp: ...

This is one of those cards that just 'came' to me one morning as I was waking up!  Have you ever had that happen? The Mojo Monday sketch came out on Monday and I didn't really have much time to create something. Then, on Wednesday morning as I was coming out of my dream state an idea for this sketch just came to me!  It was all I could think about all morning but I didn't have a chance to put my idea to cardstock and stamps until this afternoon. It's been a REALLY long time since I've created a baby card. When I saw the challenge on The Paper Players to create a baby card with buttons and bows I thought it sounded fun!  I have the new Chantilly textiles and have been anxious to do something with one of the fabrics.  So, I pulled out the Buttercup pattern paper from the Chantilly paper pack and the pear print fabric from the textiles. Using the sketch from Retro Sketches I created this 6x6 card: RECIPE: Chantilly Paper (X7163B) Chantilly Textile (Z1819) Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon (Z1732) Stamp: New Arrival (C1501) Clear Buttons (retired) Pear Ink Black Ink Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge I used the pear fabric on the edge of the buttercup pattern paper.  For those of you that don't like to sew, I didn't use my sewing machine!  I wanted to show how easy it is to add fabric without sewing! Here is another wonderful new product from Close To My Heart!  It's the 5x7 Hinged Display Tray (Z1838) .  This tray folds out to reveal 7 different divided sections to add pictures or art. I used some scraps of  Chantilly paper (X7163B)  where I did not add a picture. Using other products from Close To My Heart such as the Chantilly Complements Dimensional Elements (X7163C) complimented with  Wooden Mini Medley Accent Collection (Z1837), Trinkets Wooden Shapes (Z1844) and Sparkles Clear Flourishes - Small (Z1812) ,  help to make this project fast and easy. The day after the new Seize The Birthday challenge was posted, my new products for Close To My Heart's Spring Summer Idea Book arrived.  As I opened each packet of new paper I knew immediately that I would be creating a card with Chantilly for this challenge!   If you haven't discovered Seize the Birthday yet, it's brand new and I'm going to really like this one.  It's all about Birthday cards!  They will post a new Sketch every two weeks - Use the sketch the first week to create a 'girly' card.
