Illuminate - November Stamp of the Month

Image
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Illuminate , a set of 15 stamps. If you have come here from Elizabeth Mindemann's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . We have over 50 consultants participating in the blog. Following the hop is easy- just click on the link at the bottom of each post and it will take you to the next blog! This set was immediately one of my favorites when I first got my Autumn Winter Idea Book.  I've been so busy that I never had a chance to work with it until now.   I just love all the different lanterns.  I created three different cards using the Laughing Lola (X7170B) paper pack. For this card I wanted to give the impression that the lights were hanging from a wire so I tied little knots where each lamp is hanging in

Santa Claus is Coming To Town!

Image
I know!  Today is Halloween but that just means Christmas is around the corner right? At least that's what Walmart is saying.  I stopped there on Tuesday to grab some Halloween Candy and it had already been moved from the seasonal aisle and replaced by Christmas goodies!   I did find some Halloween treats through although it was already picked over.   An now.... trick or treating may be postponed to Friday due to some strong winds and storms headed our way and expected to hit at the Trick or Treat hours! I usually start making Christmas cards early though and I have already posted a few here on my blog!  Here is another card I wanted to share with my new favorite Christmas stamp from Close To My Heart's Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide - Santa Claus (C1567).  I'm a sucker for anything Santa so no surprise that this one is a favorite. I used the sketch from Clean & Simple #264 turning it horizontal.  I stamped Santa in Ruby ink and stamped the reindeer

Shimmering Santa

One of the new stamp sets in the Holiday Guide is Santa Claus (C1567) .  If you love all things Santa like me, then this adorable stamp is a must have!   I used the sketch from this week's Paper Players challenge to create this card.   The masking technique helps to create a Ruby Santa's cap after stamping Santa in Slate ink. The strip across the front of the card is the zip strip from the Sparkle & Shine Paper pack. More Washi Fun

Image
Here is another fun Washi Tape card to share with you today!   I think I'm getting addicted to Washi Tape.  I love finding creative ways to use it other than just sticking it to a card.   Can you see where I got creative? I applied the washi tape to some dimensional element stars covering them completely.  On this card I tried to blend them in by matching them to the strips of washi on the card.  After I completed the card, I starting thinking about covering larger dimensional elements with the washi tape.   That will be my next project! Recipe: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 White Daisy Card (X254) Chocolate Cardstock (X5643) Party Washi Tape 3-Pack (Z1908) Dimensional Element Stars (Z1680) Heartfelt Birthday Wish (M1033) Chocolate Ink (Z2111) Cotton Candy Alcohol Markers (Z2417) The Party Washi Tape is available for a limited time only -until December 31 or while supplies last.  This 3 pack of washi tape has 15 yards on each roll!   Check out this and other

Happy Birthday - with a Masculine Touch

Image
My Dad's Birthday is coming up this Friday and I wanted to get ahead of the game and create his card early.  An October birthday calls for some fall colors and the paper in the Huntington Paper pack is just perfect - plus it is great for masculine cards. I used sketch #86 from RetroSketches for this card. I used the Artiste Cricut Cartridge to cut my notepad paper and stamped it with the Noted Backgrounds stamp (retired).   Recipe: 5x7 Colonial White Card Huntington Paper Pack (X7174B) Natural Hemp (Z280) Burlap Ribbon (Z1760) Noted Backgrounds (retired) Proplayer Assortment (Z1879) Artiste Cricut Collection - Z1790 Artiste Stamp - Happy Birthday Artiste - Banner  Challenges I'm entering this card in Retro Sketches The Paper Players

I loved the sketch this week at Mojo Monday's and couldn't wait to try it out.  I turned the sketch on its side for a perfect fit of the Yuletide Greetings stamp.   I used a blending pen and Topiary Ink to shade the pine needles and I used Ruby and Topiary Alcohol markers for the bow and holly leaves.   Recipe: 5x7 White Daisy Card Sparkle & Shine Paper (X7176B) Yuletide Greetings (D1553) Red Shimmer Trim (Z1848) Mini Medley Accents Ruby Collection (Button and Twine) (Z1861) Slate Ink (Z2173) Topiary Ink (Z2155) Blending Pen (3174) Ruby Alcohol Marker (Z2429)  Topiary Alcohol Marker (Z2143) Red Glitz Glitter Gel (Z1484) Products used:               Yuletide Greetings D1553    Ruby Mini Medleys (Z1861) Sparkle & Shine Paper Pack (X7176B) Mojo Monday #315 Be sure to check out our new Holiday Gift Guide! Banner Wishes with Charming Chevrons

Image
Have you had a chance to check out the Holiday Gift Guide from Close To My Heart?  There is more in the guide than just Christmas items!  A few non Christmas items I fell in love are two very cute stamp sets - Banner Wishes and Charming Chevrons. Today has turned cold and dreary which goes right along with this very bad cold I caught!  I left work early and came home to sleep which did do some good.  This afternoon I made this bright cheery birthday card to chase those yucky blues away. I used Cotton Candy, Whisper, Pear and Honey Inks.  The sparkles around the chevrons are from the Sparkles Chevron Shapes (Z1909) .  They fit perfectly to the Charming Chevrons (A1150) . Banner Wishes (B1438)  completes my card with a few scattered Bitty Sparkles (Z1263) . Shop now from the Holiday Gift Guide!  When you spend $100 (from either the Autumn/Winter Idea book or the Holiday Gift Guide) you can choose a selected starred item from the Gift Guide or FREE!  All the details are on m

Halloween Mini Albums - Easy and Fun with Artbooking!

Fall leaves, cool breeze and lots of candy corn!  That is what October means to me!  But I have to admit - I cheated and bought my bag of candy corn before October actually arrived!  I just couldn't help myself.  Candy Corn is a weakness.... a terrible weakness. I'm off on my annual MAD Trip.   If you don't know, MAD stands for Mother and Daughters.  My mom, my three sisters and I have made it an annual tradition to go away on a 4 day trip just us - no kids, no husbands, no pets.   In the meantime, I didn't want my blog to sit here all lonely and unattended!  Since it is October, I thought I would share one of the lastest Artbooking Made Easy episodes.  This video shows you how easy it is to create a fun Halloween Mini Album with the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. If you want to see more artbooking videos, be sure to check out my Artbooking Video s tabs!

A Sneak Peek - It's a Celebration!

Image
I believe this is probably one of the quickest cards I have ever made and it's so simple!  I used two new products that will be available October 15 in Close to My Heart's Holiday Gift Guide and the sketch from Unscripted Sketches . The three strips of washi tape are from the Party Washi Tape 3 pack (Z1908) .  I love these colors and the especially the woodgrain washi!  My stamp is from Banner Wishes (B1438) .   It contains the banner seen above and 6 sentiments - It's a Celebration, Best Wishes, Thank You, Happy Birthday, You're The Best and Congratulations.   All are different fonts and they all fit on the banner!
