50th Birthday - Artfully Sent

Today is my baby sister's 50th Birthday!  Guess that tells you at least how old I am!  This is the 2nd birthday card I made this past week. The first one I shared on Wednesday for another sister.  After I completed her card I was stumped as what to do for the other Birthday card.  Then I remembered that this was her big 5-0!  And guess what?!  The Artfully Sent cricut cartridge has a great Over the Hill card!  I pulled it into my Design Space and just started cutting.  It came together so quickly!

I used Confetti Wishes paper and found some unused compliments from another project that I had done.  I used one large compliment for the front of the card and added some strips of Canary, Thistle and Crystal Blue cardstock here:

Here is the "STAR" of this card - the inside!  I used a piece of Glitter paper from the Purple Glitter Paper (Z1992) (there are three shades) for the "50" and the banner.

The candles on the card are from the Confetti Wishes Assortment.   I added more compliments to the inside of the card too.

Products used:  (The are all available until August 31 or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!)

Lovely Birthday

July is a month full of birthday's in my family - two of my sisters have birthdays!  With convention earlier this month and then a frenzy of planning once I got home, these birthdays about slipped away before I realized it!  I had to put away my new stuff and concentrate on the 2 upcoming birthdays.

First I'm sharing the card I created for my sister Suzan. Today is her birthday! Although we live in the same town our lives have been so busy we don't see each other that often.  She is a new grandmother so I'm sure that every spare moment she has, she is spending time with her adorable little grandson.  I don't blame her... he is such a cutie with chubby cheeks that makes you want to smooch all over him!

For this card, I pulled out my Brushed paper pack and my Lovely Birthday stamp step.  It was fun coloring the flowers with my ShinHan Touch Twin markers.

I love the Brushed Paper!  This paper pack, the pink glitter gems and the Lovely Birthday stamp set all retire August 31,  The Brushed Paper pack is currently a While Supplies Last item.   If you love this paper too, order it today before it is gone forever!!  Check out ALL the retiring items on my website HERE.

It's Here!! The 2015 Close To My Heart Convention

It's Here!! The 2015 Close To My Heart Convention is under way!  This is one of my most looked forward to times of the year!  Me and 1,000's of other CTMH consultants come together for some exciting new product announcements, fantastic creative projects, prizes and products galore, and fun times with old and new life long friends!

I will have lots to share when I return but today, while I'm away, I wanted to share the roomie gifts that I made for my convention roomies this year.  It is tradition to bring little gifts to welcome your roomies. I always like to create something that can be taken home and recreated for their own workshops.   This year I put together a simple little Mini Bag Album that was created using our Designer Creations Ruby Bags.

The bags comes with a total of 12 bags, four each of three designs.  I used three bags for my little albums and inserted a page into each bag. This gives added pages to journal or attach pictures.  Since our convention is taking place in Disneyland, I wanted to give it a Disney Theme.
Want to see?  Lets get started:

Front Cover
I heat embossed the castle and "2015" and inserted it into a Designer Creations Mini Frame.  The castle stamp is from an exclusive stamp set we received at Convention a few years ago.   I stapled the edge together with our Mini Stapler (Z2027) and then punched two holes to tie the Black Stripe Twill Ribbon (Z1988)

Page 2 & 3
I used images from Artbooking cricut (left page) and Artfully cartridges (right page) to create these pages.  The list on the left page is from Hello Summer (C1595).  I LOVE it that Artfully Sent had a castle image!  I cut this out on our Silver Glitter paper from the Black and Grey Glitter Paper (Z1829).

Shown above are the 2 pages that were inserted into the bag pages 2 & 3.  "Capture the Details" and the arrow were cut from Artbooking.  The page on the right has a pocket card that I cut from Artfully Sent.

Here are pages 4 & 5 (bags 2 and 3).  I cut another pocket card for the left page.  The right page has 2 frame that I layered.  These frame were cut using the Artbooking Cartridge.  I left the top open so that a picture could be inserted.  "LOL" was also cut from the Artbooking cartridge.

This is the card (front and back) that was inserted into the last bag.  Again, I used the Artbooking cartridge to cut "Big Ideas", the arrow and "notes".  All of the page inserts were cut using the Artbooking cricut cartridge.  I used washi tape throughout the mini album - Honey Triangles (Z1931),  Black Arrows (Z2003) and Ruby Chevron (Z1933).

Designer Creations Ruby Paper Bags Z2038

Designer Creations Mini Frames Z2029

These were quick and easy little mini albums to create!  Our Designer Bags also come in Slate, Lagoon and Honey.  They would make party gifts!

Operation Smile - Happy Everything Blog Hop

Hello!  Welcome to our special Blog Hop featuring the exclusive stamp set that benefits Operation Smile - Happy Everything.   Close To My Heart has partnered with Operation Smile an organization that provides free, life-changing surgery that repairs smiles and reshapes lives, one child at a time. Since 2008, Close To My Heart has provided support to change the lives of over 1,500 children and their families.  Although Close To My Heart already donates a portion of EACH My Acrylix stamp set that is sold, they will donate $3 for EACH Happy Everything that is sold!

Happy Everything - D1653
Today, the SOTM Blog Hoppers are sharing their artwork created with this special stamp set.  If you came here from Brenda Lapp's blog, you are on the right track!  Just look for the link at the bottom of my post that will take you to the next blog!  The hop is one big circle so when you come back to me, you will know you have visited all of the blogs!   If you get lost along the way you can check the list HERE.

The Honeycomb Embossing Folder (Z1995) is the perfect compliment for this stamp set.  I stamped the bee directly on the card base and then again on a piece of scrap cardstock.  After coloring the bee's body, I cut it out and adhered it on top of the stamped bee.  I used the black twine from the Neutral Metallic Assortment (Z1921) and a few Black epoxy bubbles (Z1935) to finish off the card.

How can you help support Operation Smile through Close To My Heart?  There are three ways:
1.  Purchase the Happy Everything stamp.  Close To My Heart will donate $3 for each Happy Everything stamp set sold!  This stamp is only available to purchase through August 31!
2.  When you purchase ANY My Acrylix stamp set, a portion of each stamp is donated to Operation Smile.
3.  Round Up!  Any time you make a purchase with Close To My Heart you can 'round up' your total to the nearest dollar!  This 'round up' amount will be donated to Operation Smile.
