Little Miss Message

Image
This adorable Stamp Plus Thin Cut caught my eye when I was first looking through the January February Close To My Heart Catalog.  I ordered it right away but only just recently got to play with it! Aren't these just the cutest??? There are 3 different hairstyles and you can mix and match the outfits. You can use the body with just the sign or WITHOUT the sign!  So many options! The thin cuts included with the stamp are the 2 signs.  This stamp is also available without the thin cuts.   Here are 2 cards that I created using this set: For both of the cards I stamped the image of the girl with Intense Black Ink and then colored with various tri-blend markers.  For the card on the left I used the Peacock Feathers Distress oxide ink to fill in background color around the girl.  Both cards use the current Mix-in Papers. Months Of the Year Perpetual Calendar - January and February

Image
Creating the pages for my perpetual calendar was easy with Close To My Heart's Months of the Year stamps.  So far, January and February have been released.  March and April will be released in March.    I like the ombre look on the Month Name so I will most likely use this technique for all of my pages.  I inked the top of the "January" in Carolina Blue and then inked the bottom portion in Blue Belle.   For "February" I used Flamingo ink on the top and Candy Apple Ink on the bottom. I used Intense Black Ink with the images that I colored with Tri-Blend markers.    I used Carolina Blue and Blue Belle to stamp the snowflakes and added a dot of Diamond Glitter Glue to the center of each.  I also added some to the hat band.  I used my Clear Shimmer Brush to brush the white area of the snowman to make him shimmer.    Here is a closer look at February.  I stamped the envelope directly on the page but stamped it again in Candy Apple ink on scrap paper and cut out the h

Month's of the Year Album - Pre-cut Kits

Image
Close To My Heart has a new series of stamps that features each month of the year.   Each stamp has the name of the month in two sizes and fonts along with some fun images celebrating that month! Two new stamps will be released with each new catalog through December.  These stamps are perfect for decorating our Perpetual Calendar (Z3888) I thought it would be fun to create an 8 1/2 x 11 album using this stamp so that by the end of the year, I have a 2 page layout documenting each month of the year!  Why did I choose 8 1/2 x 11?  These pages are easy to fill with just a few photos. Adding a few embellishments and stamped images will give a creative look without spending hours creating elaborate pages.  The album's purpose will be a quick summary of the year's favorite photos!  Keep the album for yourself, or give as a gift!  Who wouldn't LOVE to just add pictures to already completed pages?? There are 5 different border stamps in this set.   It was fun to use them on these cards.  On this first card, I used the colors Toffee, Peach, Smoothie, Paprika.  I offset the stamped "Thank You" on top of Smoothie cardst

Happiness Lives Here Scrapbooking Workshop Kit

Image
Let's take a look at the Happiness Lives Here Scrapbooking Workshop kit.  I LOVE these new kits that Close To My Heart introduced to us last year.  The updated kits now include special Die-Cuts that come ONLY in the workshop kits.  These die-cuts will take you pages up a notch enabling you to create beautiful pages!   The roof on this page is created with pretty scalloped die-cuts.  Just punch them out and use foam tape to add a nice pop of color to the page.  The pages are accented with lots of die-cut flowers and wooden shapes. This layout has a nice spot for journaling on the right page.  Check out the typewriter and also the pocket watch on the left page.  Both are stickers from the sticker sheet.  There is a tiny bit of additional accent from Waterfall Stickles which can be ordered in addition to the kit.   This is an optional technique. I LOVE the BIG BOLD CHUNKY title on this layout.   The title has a big base layer, then each top letter is a die-cut added to the top of the

If you arrived here from Brenda Lapp’s Blog you are on the right track. This hop is a big circle. Just look for the next blog link at the bottom of my post. If you are just getting started on the hop, when you get back to me you will know you have completed the circle! If you get lost along the way, you can find the entire list of hoppers HERE .  I LOVE "Thank You" stamp sets and this one especially because there are so many styles and fonts to choose from!  I had fun creating this shaker card using more than one Thank You stamp!  The pattern for this card is based off of one of the Workshop Kit cards in our new catalog!  I started with the same pattern but added a shaker to it! The paper is from our new paper pack - Happiness Lives Here.  I chose the coordinating colors of cardstock - Blue Belle, Sage and Smoothie to mat my stamped image
