This month I created 2 cards using the Jubilee Paper (X7181B) pack.    For my first card, I used the "You Are the Best" image.  I love the thick lines of the stamp.  It makes it easy to trim.   I stamped the image twice on pattern paper from Jubilee.   Then I cut out the center piece and layered it onto the top.  (see p

One of the greatest things about being a Close To My Heart Consultant is the lasting friendships you make.  A few days ago I returned from my extended weekend with some of my best CTMH sisters! In 2008 I went to my very first convention and was so excited to be chosen as one of nine winners of  a Spa Retreat Getaway.  It was one of the most memorable experiences and we became great friends. Each year at convention we have a mini reunion lunch to catch up with everyone.   We decided that a 2 hour lunch wasn't enough time so last we started planning a weekend reunion.   This year we were not ALL able to attend but hopefully next year more will be able to go. Our wonderful hostess was Jaime who opened up her home to us for the weekend.  She had an AWESOME scrapbook studio.  We created until wee hours in the morning.  It was so much fun to collaborate on our businesses and art.  I came away very inspired and best of all - ALL CAUGHT UP so hopefully I'll have some time to create w

Washi Tape Blog Hop!

Welcome to our  Washi Tape Blog Hop!!  Washi tape can be used in so many ways.  Join me and 16 other Close To My Heart Consultants as we show you fun ways to use washi tape!  This hop is sure to be lots of fun!  If you came here from  Jean McNulty's   blog you are on the right track!   The hop is a big circle so when you get back to me, you have completed the hop.   If you get lost along the way you can get back on track by clicking HERE . Today I'm using washi in a very simple way.   I added it to our Spinner Cards to create a couple of very quick Birthday cards!  Mixing and matching colors and designs will have your creativity soaring! These Circle Spin Cards are just perfect for our "M" size stamps. Adding the Washi Tape dressed up these plain and simple cards in a flash! See my recipes below for all the products used.   Now it's time to hop on over to Joy McHargue's blog . Recipes SHOOTING STAR BIRTHDAY White Daisy Circle Spin Cards

Artbooking My Life

I'm headed to Virginia for a little mini re-union with my CTMH sisters that won the Spa Retreat back in 2008.  I'm so excited and can't wait for the time we'll share together.   I have a lot of creative projects that I want to get done while I'm there so I should have LOTS to share when I return. While I'm gone, I wanted to share this video that shows how to incorporate the Artbooking cartridge with the Picture My Life series.  I absolutely LOVE our new Picture My Life sets and adding artbooking images really add a great touch to these already wonderful cards to make a really beautiful memory book.   Check out this video for more info on using TWO great products together.

April Girls Night Out - Jubilee Hinged Display Tray

Image
Each month I hold a Girl's Night Out event creating something other than scrapbooking layouts.  I wanted to share the project that we will be doing this month - A Hinged Display Tray.   These little displays are fast, easy and fun to create.  My favorite thing to use when I decorate them are dimensional elements.  They can add a lot of dimension to the trays.   For this project, I used the summery Jubliee paper, compliments, assortments and even Jubilee fabric!   These trays don't require alot of paper - you can probably find enough scraps to use.  The main focus of the tray will be the elements that you add. I used nearly all of the coordinating compliments. The collection of Jubilee assortments gave me many choices to choose from.  These are adhesive on the back so sticking them on was a breeze! If you are local to me and want to sign up for this event, please email me for more info about reserving your spot!     I must have all RSVP's by April 14th. APRIL G

An Ivy Lane Birthday

Image
Monday was my Mother's birthday.  She loves flowers and like me, she loves about any shade of green.   I felt like this card was perfect for her! My go to paper for this card was Ivy Lane.  The green background is the Ivy Lane Green that is an exclusive color to this kit.  I used the Damask Embossing Folder (Z1927)  for the background.  I still had a few pieces of Ivy Lane stickease left over from my Look To Light Card Box and Cards project I did previously so I used them on my card.  By the way, I gave the box and set of card to my mom.  If you missed them, you can see that project HERE .   The metal flowers are from the retired Base & Bling Floral Accents.  "Happy Birthday" is stamped with Cocoa Ink.  This sentiment is from one of my favorite sets - " Joyful Birthday" (B1419) Ivy Lane Compliments (X7178C) Ivy Lane Paper (X7178B) Damask Embossing Folder (Z1927) Joyful Birthday (B1419)
