Artbooking My Life

I'm headed to Virginia for a little mini re-union with my CTMH sisters that won the Spa Retreat back in 2008.  I'm so excited and can't wait for the time we'll share together.   I have a lot of creative projects that I want to get done while I'm there so I should have LOTS to share when I return.

While I'm gone, I wanted to share this video that shows how to incorporate the Artbooking cartridge with the Picture My Life series.  I absolutely LOVE our new Picture My Life sets and adding artbooking images really add a great touch to these already wonderful cards to make a really beautiful memory book.   Check out this video for more info on using TWO great products together.

Now, I want to share with a cute way to make a gift card holder!  I used the Artiste Cricut Cartridge to make this holder.  It was very simple!  The Cricut cuts the card and it folds so that you can slip a gift card inside! I set the cricut to cut at 5".  I recycled an old gift card so my card is a little thick. This size worked well.   If inserting a regular card you can use 4 3/4" measurement.  "Merry Christmas" is also cut using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  I set the measurement to 2".               To re

The Proposal

Here is another layout for the Study Abroad album I've been working on.  This layout is the last layout in the book.  During their last week in Cuba, John proposed to Kayli.  One of the other students knew it was going to happen so he was prepared with a camera.  I was so happy I could save that special day in a layout for them. For this layout I used paper from Calypso along with Kraft cardstock for my base pages.  For my flowers, I used watercolor paints creating a wash of color.  Once it dried, I stamped several flowers from the Hawaiian Hibiscus stamp.   This is one of the new Clear Watercolor PML cards .   I painted it a light blue with my watercolor paint.   Once painted the hearts show up very well. Here is a close up of some of the flowers.   I'm not very good at watercolor detail painting so that is why I use the easy 'wash of paint' and then stamp method.   Products Used: Calypso Paper - X7210B Hawaiian Hisbiscus - B1527
