Free To Be Me - TWO DAYS LEFT!

Wow!   Just two more days to grab the Free To Be Me Paper Pack for $5!  I LOVE this paper.... so much that I was able to get TWO!  I took a quick time out last night to sneak into my craft room and create one more card to share before this awesome promotion ends!  For this card, I used sketch #197 over at The Paper Players this week. I finally got around to using my Oodles of Doodles (B1449)  stamp set.  It was one of the first stamps I purchased when the Spring Summer Idea was released.  It is such a fun stamp!  I really need to use it more.  My accents are from the now retired Trinket Wooden Shapes.  I was excited to find little arrows to match my paper!  The twine is Hemp Bakers Twine from the Mini Medley Accents Wooden Collection (Z1837). Last Week for the Exclusive Free To Be Me Paper Pack!

Image
Wow.... I can't believe it has been over a week since I last posted!!  That is so unlike me!  I've been pretty busy lately and haven't had time to step into my craft room which I'm really starting to miss!  I traveled to Kentucky over the long holiday weekend for my niece's graduation party and then we drove over to my Father In Law's to spend the weekend on Kentucky Lake.  He has a gorgeous view of the lake. I could sit all day and just watch the boats go up and down the water.  I really enjoyed the weekend and even put away my phone and ipad - only checked it a couple of times.   Sometimes you just have to really unplug yourself and enjoy the moment.   Here is one more reminder about the May National Scrapbooking Month Special.   There are only 4 days left to take advantage!  I absolutely LOVE this paper pack!  I've seen so many great projects with it.  Be sure to check out my Pinterest Board.   I've been pinning things I've loved with this pa

Happy Day with Feathers

Image
I see feathers everywhere these days in crafting projects.  Even Close To My Heart's exclusive National Scrapbooking Month special paper pack has feathers on some of the papers! I created this card with Free to Be Me paper pack and the Feathers (C1584)  stamp set from Close To My Heart.   This card was very simple to create! I stamped the feathers in Juniper, Lagoon and Sweet Leaf Inks. The Aqua Dots (Z1853) were a perfect match!  The "Happy Day" sentiment is from one of the Free To Be Me paper zip strips!  Get your own Free To Be Me paper pack in the month of May as we celebrate National Scrapbooking Month!  Only $5 with a $50 purchase!  Shop HERE!

Oh Happy Day - Free To Be Me

National Scrapbooking Month is still going on and today I have a card to share with you that I created with Close To My Heart's special NSM paper pack - Free To Be Me.  This card is adapted from Sketch #19 in Make It From Your Heart Vol 1. I cut out the gold polka dot vellum paper to use at the top of each Red Shimmer Trim (Z1848) .  I thought this made them look like candles.  The banner is cut from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge and I used the stamp that is included with the collection to stamp the sentiment.   I love the resist cardstock that is included in this pack! There are only 2 1/2 weeks left to take advantage of this special paper pack!  When you order $50 in Close To My Heart products, you can add this special paper pack for just $5 more!   ($11.95 retail value).   The Free to Be Me paper pack i s only available until May 31 (or while supplies last!)  So order yours today! Pennant Banner with Timberline - May's Girls Night Out

Image
Today I'm sharing a project that I worked on during my recent Spa Retreat Reunion with some great Close To My Heart friends.  I had so much fun collaborating on this with Briana Bostick, fellow Spa Retreat Winner and CTMH consultant sister!  Between the two of us I think we came up with a great little project that will be my May Girl's Night Out event!  For May's GNO event project we will be creating a woodsy pennant frame just in time for Father's Day.  We will be using the paper, compliments and assortments from Timberline.   This frame will hold a favorite 4x5 or 5x5 photo of Dad or maybe even a fun family outing such as hiking, camping or just being in the great outdoors! I love the fun wooden assortments that coordinate with the Timberline pack. It has a nice variety of elements to choose from.  The assortments include 12 etched wooden pieces - 9 assorted shapes and 4 pins.   We will top off your memorable event using the pennant banner

Happy Mother's Day

Image
Happy Mother's Day!  My mother spends her days working in her backyard which really needs to be referred to as a garden.  It's a beautiful labor of love. When you step into her backyard, you feel like you are stepping into the pages of a Southern Living or Better Homes & Garden magazine. Unfortunately, I did not get that green thumb from her.  My thumb is more of a 'inky' thumb. She loves hydrangeas so I really wanted to incorporate some on a Mother's day card for her. I used A Mother's Love (B1447) stamp set which is a special stamp set available only for our Hostess'. The paper is from the Skylark paper pack .  I cut a decorative rectangle using the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge for a backdrop for the hydrangeas.  The stamp for the flowers is a two-step technique.   I stamped the base of the hydrangea in Sweet Leaf ink and the outline layer in Desert Sand in.   I tried several colors and colors combinations for the hydrangeas before I fi

Sooner or Later.....

When I sat down last weekend to start working on a couple of graduation cards and Mother's Day cards, I was rummaging through my Skylark paper pack and pulled out a card I had started but never finished!  I decided to use the Mother's Day and the Frame Flair stamps that I had used on the card I shared yesterday.  See it HERE . A Mother's Day Card

Image
Mother's Day is just around the corner.  I'm a little behind on getting my cards made but I have finished one!  I'm sharing this one today.  I couldn't wait to get the "Mother's Day" stamp when it was first released in Close To My Heart's Spring Summer Idea Book.  I actually started this card over a week ago and after playing around with ideas for a while I had to set it aside.  One of those lack of mojo days I guess.  But I came back to it last weekend and began to put it together.  I love using silhouette stamps. There is an elegance about them that really appeals to me.  I'm not sure I did this one justice but I do like the way the card turned out. I used some paper from the Skylark  (X7177B) paper pack.  For my Mother's Day sentiment I cut a shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and stamped the frame with one of the frames from the set - Frame Flair (D1546).   I used sparkles from the Sparkles Clear Assortment (Z1752)
