Image
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring A Chocolate Affair , a set of 16 stamps. If you have come here from Katy's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . We have over 50 consultants participating in the hop. Following the hop is easy, just click on the link at the end of the post and it will hop you right over to the next blog! I LOVE chocolate and I don't know many people that don't!  I couldn't wait to play with this set.  I created this card using the new Babycakes Paper to show how versatile this paper is!  I used Pattern #24 from the NEW Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 (9042).  Recipe: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Card Babycakes Paper (X7173B) Chocolate Baker's Twine - Neutral Assortment (Z1701) Chocolate Ink (Z2111) A Chocol

Sneak Peek - Sarita

Here is another sneak peek at the new Sarita (X7171B) paper pack!  I loved this paper the minute I laid eyes on it in the new Autumn Winter Idea Book.   I can't wait to create more with it!  The design of this card is from Pattern #23 in the NEW Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 Book (9042) .  This is another great pattern book by Jeanette Lynton.  A must have for every scrapbooker/cardmaker! I used SEVERAL new products on this card! I especially love the Sarita Assortments (Z1873) .  The assortment contains 10 etched wooden shapes and 4 metal icons - all adhesive backed.  I used one of the metal icons up in the right hand corner on top of my Lagoon Houndstooth Washi Tape (Z1850 ) which is also new!  Check out the Jute Ribbon (Z1867) .  Just when I thought I couldn't get enough Burlap, now I've got Jute ribbon to play with!  And finally, my last new product is the stamp!  This cute little stamp is called Holiday Tags (D1560).  It has 13 Holiday sentiments plus two s

Sneak Peek - Laughing Lola

Image
My Autumn Winter Open House is coming up August 10th and I've been busy playing with all my new product trying to get ready for it.  I'm going to start sharing a few things that I will have on display at my open house.   I like to make at least one card from the paper in each new paper pack from the book. My first card I'm sharing today is created from the Laughing Lola paper pack. The paisley's and sentiment are from the new stamp set - Paisley perfect (C1556) .   I stamped the paisley with black ink onto Gypsy cardstock and again on Lagoon.  Then I cut the center of the lagoon paisley and attached to the top of the Gypsy paisley.   The border stamp is from the Laughing Lola Workshop On The Go kit stamp. I added Laughing Lola Assortments (Z1854) for my finishing touches. These assortments include 4 satin paper clip bows; 9 printed gems in 3 sizes that are adhesive backed.  I wrapped the clip with black hemp to hid the clip. Thank you for stopping b

A Little Gift.... New M size stamps!

Image
Here is a sneak peek at one of the new "M" size stamps coming out in Close To My Heart's Autumn Winter Idea Book!  There are 8 new "M" size stamps.  The great thing about these little beauties is that you can create a quick card in no time at all with them and they are only $2.95 each! I was sitting as my crafting table last night with a HUGE list of 'must do' items before my upcoming Open House but not in the mood to do any of them!  I spotted a card I started a few weeks ago and never finished.  The card was supposed to be clean and simple with no embellishments but I was having such a hard time sticking to the rule of Clean and Simple that I set it aside to finish another day.  Not wanting to tackle my 'must do' list, I pulled the card over and began putting it together - adding a layer of cardstock, twine and Glitz Glitter Gel.  I think it was the card I envisioned from the beginning.   I will just have to resign myself to the fact that I

Age is just a number...

Do you remember the first stamp you bought?  I do, and I still have it!  It actually wasn't the first stamp I ever bought but it was the first Close To My Heart stamp I bought!  I had just joined Close To My Heart as a consultant and the new 2006 Summer Idea Books had come out.   This stamp immediately caught my eye.  I couldn't wait to get it!   The name of this stamp is Do Nothing .  This set was exactly what I wanted to be doing - sitting in the sun and reading a book.  It was so me.  (Although who has time to do this anymore?!) Every year when I go through my stamps to purge used stamp sets to put in my Clearance stash, I always pull this one out and put it back.  It is one that I will always keep - even if I don't use it much. I needed to make another Birthday card and I wanted to use the Surf's Up paper (or what I have left of it!) for a July Birthday card.  Then I remembered this stamp - PERFECT!   So I set to work last night creating this card.   The sketch

A Nautical Birthday!

Image
July is a month full of birthdays for me.  I've been busy working on my upcoming Autumn Winter Open House but I have to take a break every now and then and create a birthday card.   My Father In Law's birthday is coming up soon.  He lives on the lake so I thought it would be fun to create a Nautical Birthday card! I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch and Close To My Heart's Tommy Paper (X7169B) .   I love the Canvas Compliments (X7169C) that go with the Tommy paper!  They make perfect accents for this card.  The flag border is from the Workshop On The Go Tommy stamp (G1058). The stamped sentiment is from Card Chatter - Birthday (D1475) . The Outdoor Denim Chevron Ribbon (Z1808) adds a nice finishing touch.  Mojo Monday Sketch: Thanks for stopping by!  Stayed tuned for more Birthday cards - I've still got several to create!

She Believed......

Throughout this year's convention, the story of the Jeanette's struggles and successes through the years to make Close To My Heart the wonderful company that it is today were shared.  We learned how she started out as single mother making rubber stamps in her garage.  We learned that when Jeanette set out to accomplish something - she will!  Jeanette is a woman of faith and family.  She cares deeply for this company that is very 'close to her heart'. On the last day of convention, there was a Question and Answer session with Jeanette.  She is very open and honest and also one very funny lady!  This is always one of my most favorite times of convention.   Before convention, consultants were asked to submit questions.  If your question is asked at convention you will get a special stamp set.   I was one of the lucky people to have my question asked.   After the session was over I went to retrieve my stamp.  When I opened it up and read it, I actually teared up.   I kn

A Washi Wonder Birthday

Image
Here's a new stamp coming out August 1st.  It's a special stamp set and not everyone can get it!  What makes it so special?   Its a Hostess Only set!  There are seven Hostess Only stamps that will be available in the new Autumn/Winter Idea book.  The great news for Hostess, when they choose one of these special stamps, they can get them at a special low price! When I first looked at the new book I new immediately that this Washi Wonder set would be a must have in my collection.    It's a fun stamp with lots of washi tape designs and because you stamp them, that means you have a choice of any color in any design!   I couldn't wait to create a card with this set!  This set has a retail price of $17.95 but Hostess' can get it for just $10! I created a Birthday card using another one of my favorite stamps - Joyful Birthday (B1419) I used Kraft paper as my card base and the colors of Lagoon, Smoothie, Buttercup and Desert Sand.  Of course, I had to tie

Artbooking with Surf's Up!

Image
Have you heard about Close To My Heart's newest exclusive Cricut Cartridge?!  It's called Artbooking.   It will be available to customers on August 1st.   One of the great things about being a CTMH consultant (and there are MANY!) is that we get a one month preview to new products!  I got my new Artbooking cartridge on Saturday and I've been playing with it. This cartridge can create 15 two-page scrapbooking layouts with just the touch of a key!!  And the best part, you just set the measurement ONE TIME and everything else you cut will be proportionate to your layout design!  No more piles of images to use on something else because they weren't the right size! (I have lots of 'extra' images!)  In addition to the layouts, you can also create many different mini books!  There are endless possibilities with this cartridges because it has over 700 images! I created this one page layout with the Summertime Layout keys. I set the cricut to cut the overlay

Moxie Fab's No Stamping Birthday Sketch Challenge

Image
Moxie Fab is celebrating their new Birthday Creations issue which is out this week.   So, everyday they are having a new Birthday Challenge.   Yesterday's challenge was to create a Birthday card using the sketch provided (see below).   You could either create a card with ALL stamping or a card with NO stamping.    Sounds easy right?   I thought the ALL stamping card would be easy but I found myself wanting to add embellishments!  I set it aside to finish later and moved on to the NO stamping card! I decided to use my brand new ARTBOOKING cricut cartridge! (Read all about this fabulous new cartridge HERE !) This is ONE great advantage to being a Close To My Heart consultant - we get a one month preview to the new products to be released on August!   I LOVE this cartridge!  Check out my card - I have a few more sneak peek items on this card that will available in the new Close To My Heart 2013 Autumn Winter Idea Book that is being released in August. I used the Celebration L

Disney + CTMH = A Scrapitty Good Time!

I have been slow getting back to my blog after convention.   I had to go right back to work on Monday so I have not had a chance to get back into my blog routine.   I updated my Stampinheaven Facebook everyday (several times!) while I was gone.  If you missed the updates will recap here!   There is a lot it share so you better grab a cup of coffee and settle in! Convention always starts off with a General Session that reveals the new products fun ways.  The first product reveal was a new line of Base and Bling.  Close To My Heart noticed that many consultants and customers were creating fun wearable art with their accessories and textiles.  Now we have everything we need to create fun wearable jewelry - necklace, ring, cuff bracelet, hair clip and headband! During our creative session we learned how to make the base and bling jewelry using a kit that is sold in the new Idea Book.  This kit comes with everything you need - textile, necklace, accents and even the base and bling adhe
