2014 CTMH Convention Wrap Up - Recap #1

Image
WOW...... WOW.... WOW   what an AMAZING convention we just had.   Nothing will ever beat the excitement of attending my very first convention back in 2010 but this one came very close! My plane arrived in California about 1:20 so by the time I got shuttled over to the Disneyland Hotel and checked in, I had some free time Tuesday night to visit Disneyland with my friends Heather and Jaime.   I had been looking forward to going to back to Disneyland for convention.  It really is a magical place to celebrate.  I was able to meet up with so many of my CTMH sisters far and wide.  These are a few of my Spa Gals .  In 2010 we all won the CTMH Spa Retreat.  Now, every year, we meet up for a reunion lunch at convention to catch up.  We were missing a few girls this year but hopefully next year the entire group can come back! Wednesday was Leadership Day.  Our sessions were informative and inspiring.  I learned so much from many of the leading consultants in Close To My Heart.  My l

Coming Soon Artistic Adventure - Close To My Heart Convention 2014

I am so stinkin' excited about this year's convention coming up next week.  I fly out on Tuesday and I have a huge long list of "TO DO's". So little time but somehow as always I'll get it done.  I'd like to schedule a couple of posts for while I'm gone but not sure I can squeeze that in.  I will try to post a few updates from convention if I can.  You can definately follow along by checking in with my StampinHeaven Facebook Page  because I'll be posting there as much as possible.   This is going to be an exciting year as CTMH celebrates our 30 year Anniversary- BRAND new Idea Book format with nearly 50 more added pages of products and artwork.  And speaking of products - there are going to be 250 exciting new products! WOW!!  Convention attendees won't get the new books into our sweaty little hands until the close of General Session on Thursday which is right before lunch.   Our lunch will be spent drooling over the new book.   After t

Happy 97th Birthday!

Image
My Grandma will be celebrating her 97th birthday on Thursday!  I wanted to create a fun card for her and the Balloon Ride (X7180B)  paper seemed to just fit her personality.   Balloon Ride is so carefree and happy. My Grandma is an amazing woman.  She still lives on her family farm, remarried at the young age of 87, and has traveled all over the world.  She was just featured in the Newburgh Magazine in an article "Love of  Lifetime".  You can read it here if you like -  Newburgh Magzine .   It's on page 42. For this card I used Sketch #22 from Seize the Sketch       Product Used The Balloon Ride paper, compliments and assortments will all retire July 31 so if you really like this line you need to order before July 31!  Shop my website 24/7!  Start shopping  HERE !

Happy Father's Day!

Image
Happy Father's Day!  Today I'm sharing a card I made for my dad.  The Timberline paper makes the perfect Father's Day cards! I used the sketch from Deconstructed Sketches for my card.  If you are ever in need of a good sketch to use, head over to Deconstructing Jen 's blog.  I always love all her sketches! I used the "You're the Best" (C1571) stampset with Ponderosa Pine for my sentiment and added some Hemp Baker's Twine and a wooden button I found in my stash. Deconstructed Sketches Thanks for stopping by!

Time to say Goodbye

Image
Summertime is an exciting time for Close To My Heart consultants.... in just a little more than a week our Annual Convention will be taking place at the wonderful Disneyland Resort.  I'll there and I just can't wait!  The new Fall Winter Idea Book - newly renamed to Annual Inspirations will be released.   It is going to be bigger and better than ever with an additional 48 pages!  This new book will be good for an entire year!  We will have two special Seasonal Inspirations that will be released in December and April.  The new products in these books will be available for only 4 months. With many new products waiting to be released in August, this always means it is time to let some things go.   Consultants and die hard CTMH customers get excited with the anticipation of things to come but at the same time it is with mixed emotions.  This year we will be saying goodbye to 5 colors - Blush, Buttercup, Sky, Twilight and Creme Brulee. A couple of these I have grown very fond of!

If you have been following my posts since the beginning of June, you know that Close To My Heart is celebrating 30 years in the stamping and scrapbooking Industry with a Celebrate 30 Special!  They have put together 6 great gift collections that you can purchase for just $30 when you purchase $50 in Close To My Heart products!  See all 6 collections HERE. I've been featuring some things I've created using products from these gift collections.   Today I'm sharing a card with products from the Extraordinary Embellishments Collections and the current Timberline paper pack.  I found that these two go together very well!  My card is designed based on the sketch from Deconstructing Sketches . I love the woodsy colors of the Just Blooms Floret  Paper Shapes and thought they were just perfect for the old barn style paper from Timberline.  The metal flourishes and the brad are from the Mini Medley Accents Antiqued Gold Collection .  I paired them up with Durables

Celebrate 30! - Happy Birthday with Accessory Coordinates Collection

June marks the 30 year anniversary for Jeanette Lynton's presence in the Stamping and Scrapbooking Industry. Over the next few weeks I'm going to be sharing things that I'm creating with the products from these collections.   If you missed my card I created with the Delightful Ribbons and Trims collection, you can see it HERE. Today I created a card using Chantilly compliments, Chantilly assortments and Black Stripe Grosgrain ribbon from the Accessory Coordinates Collection .   If you are familiar with Close To My Heart products, then you know that each of the compliments and assortments had coordinating paper packs that matched perfectly.  Those paper packs have been retired and are now unavailable but you don't HAVE to have the papers to mak

Ivy Lane Sympathy

Image
On Tuesday morning, my Grandma lost her only surviving sibling - my Great Uncle George.  At 99 years of age, Uncle George had lived a long life.   I will always remember him for his love of making wine - he made all kinds.  Among his most popular was Gooseberry!  He was always full of stories. After the family dinner was over and everyone was sitting around the table with their dessert, he would tell stories of those days when he was young and growing up on the farm where we were gathered.   I wanted to create a Sympathy card for my Grandma to let her know that I was thinking of her. For this card, I used Sketch #117 from Retro Sketches with Close To My Heart's Ivy Lane paper pack (X7178B).  I found some old retired Olive grosgrain ribbon that coordinates beautifully and used some of my hoarded Bohemian Assortments that are also retired.   I felt like it added the touch I needed.  The sentiment is from Big Hug (D1584). Celebrate 30! - Happy Birthday with the Delightful Ribbon and Trim Collection

Image
This month we are celebrating Jeanette Lynton's 30th year in the stamping and scrapbooking industry! To celebrate, we are offering 6 different product collections that you can add to your order for just $30 when you spend $50!  These gift collections have a retail value of $50 - $65 and are great ways to stock up on some popular items that have been unavailable or will be retired at the end of July! Today I wanted to feature the products in the Delightful Ribbon and Trim Collection .  This is such a fun grouping of products with an array of washi tape, rosette ribbon, chocolate stripe grosgrain ribbon and black hemp!    It was only fitting that I create a Birthday card for this event!  I used Sketch # 21 from Seize the Sketch. I cut out the cupcake using my Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  Next I covered the cupcake wrapper with my Cotton Candy polka dot washi tape and 'iced' it with the rosette ribbon.  My candle is covered with the silver washi tape.  Next
