Flowery Easter Wishes

Image
I'm sooooo ready for spring!!  Tonight they are calling for temps around 25 here in Middle Tennessee.   All the Bradford Pears are in bloom and now everything will just turn an ugly brown.  I'm so over it!  I guess that I why I pulled out this cute little flower stamp to create a card tonight.    I want some color back in my day! This was simple card to create.   I debated adding some bling but then decided that sometimes simple is just enough.   Let the flowers be the focus. For this card I used the colors of Sorbet, Pacifica, Sweet Leaf and Slate.  The flowers are from the stamp set - Enjoy the Litte Things.  This is a set for that is exclusive to Hostess.  A Hostess can choose this stamp as part of their rewards at a reduced price.             Greatest Love - B1444 Enjoy the Little Things - Hostess Only Set Thank you for stopping by!! I'm entering this card into the followi...

Pink Glitter Hearts.....

Image
Happy Valentines Day! I don't make alot of Valentine cards but I have some new Pink Glitter paper from Close To My Heart that I thought would make a pretty Valentines Card!   Oh yeah and have I mentioned my new embossing folders?   You bet!  I had to incorporate that into my card too! Freshly Made Sketches had the perfect sketch! The Pink Glitter paper comes in 3 different shades of pink.  I used two of them here.  I cut the hearts on my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge at 1" and 3/4".  I stamped the sentiment in Slate Ink. The sentiment is from the Valentine's themed stamp that was our National Papercrafting Month Special in 2013.  It's a cute little stamp and I just had to hang onto it!    The twine is from the Ruby Mini Medley Accent collection.  I love the silver thread that runs through it! Here are the Close To My Heart Products I used: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge - Z1686 I'm entering this c...

Life Without Friendship

Image
It's been a beautiful day sunny day today and I just returned from having lunch with one of my best friends.  I didn't have any deadlines to get back to so we sat outside on the restaurant's patio and had the best time catching up.  We haven't had time in several weeks to get together so it was nice.  We discussed kids, families, work (ugh) and then our favorite past time - creating!!  I was feeling kind of crabby this morning so this was the best medicine for a pick-me-up.   Friends are great - they can always bring a smile and a little more sunshine to your day. After lunch I was excited to have a few free hours to myself this afternoon and couldn't WAIT to get home to create.  I printed off a bunch of challenges that I wanted to participate in and sat down at my scrap table to really crank something out.  And I sat..... and I sat..... I started out intending to create a card for one challenge and I began to go through my stamps looking for just th...

Come Unto Me.....

Image
I had a pretty productive day beginning about 7:30 this morning.  Saturday is my day to sleep in since I get up at 5am during the week to get ready for work.  But this morning I woke up about 6:30 and couldn't get back to sleep so I finally gave up and got up.  I went into the kitchen to fix myself some breakfast but got side tracked by my 'tupperware cabinet'.  You know the cabinet.  It's the biggest cabinet in your kitchen that is full of every size and shape of plastic ware - containers, bowls and lids!  My cabinet had gotten to the shape where you quickly open the door - throw something in and close the door before something else falls out.   I opened the cabinet and sat down and begin taking everything out.  I was determined to keep only the items that had a lid, and get rid of anything that I no longer used.   I probably threw away about 40 lids!  I guess I had this fear that a container would show up looking for it's matching lid ...

A Washi Wonder Birthday

Image
Here's a new stamp coming out August 1st.  It's a special stamp set and not everyone can get it!  What makes it so special?   Its a Hostess Only set!  There are seven Hostess Only stamps that will be available in the new Autumn/Winter Idea book.  The great news for Hostess, when they choose one of these special stamps, they can get them at a special low price! When I first looked at the new book I new immediately that this Washi Wonder set would be a must have in my collection.    It's a fun stamp with lots of washi tape designs and because you stamp them, that means you have a choice of any color in any design!   I couldn't wait to create a card with this set!  This set has a retail price of $17.95 but Hostess' can get it for just $10! I created a Birthday card using another one of my favorite stamps - Joyful Birthday (B1419) I used Kraft paper as my card base and the colors of Lagoon, Smoothie, Buttercup and Desert Sand. ...

Summer Vacation is Here!

Image
School is out so I thought I would create a fun card that reminds me of the beach.  Somewhere I long to go but not sure when I'll get there. The colors in my card were inspired by the colors from this week's Color Throwdown .  I used Close To My Hearts colors of Honey, Sky, Cotton Candy and Slate.  (Boy - don't those color names just make you THINK summer?!)  My card design is from Freshly Made Sketches #88 .  The stamp set used is Tropical Paradise (C1531).   I just love those surf boards! I used cardstock from the Dream Pop Paper Pack.  This is last week that you can get the Dream Pop paper pack and I think there is still a smidgen left in inventory so you'd better hurry!   I've had so much fun this past month creating with this paper pack!  I hope you've enjoyed my creations!  You can always find more inspiration on my Pinterest Dream Pop Board .  I've collected great works all art from many other consultants so be sure...

A Tuesday Morning Happy Birthday

Image
This week's Tuesday Morning Sketch was perfect for Close To My Heart's new Honeycomb stamp set.   I couldn't wait to get home and use this set for this sketch!   I combined the sketch with this week's Color Throwdown .   I used the ink colors of Smoothie, Sunset and Blush for my honeycombs.  The outline is stamped in Desert Sand.  And what do you know - there is that burlap ribbon!  BTW, I've used so much burlap lately that I'm getting low again so will be ordering more!  I wrapped some Smoothie Bakers Twine around the burlap and tied a little bow.  The sentiment is from my new Joyful Birthday stamp and also stamped in Desert Sand. My inspiration:                                                Recipe 5x7 Card Desert Sand Cardstock White Daisy Cardstock My Acrylix Stamp - Honeycomb C1537 (Available Feb 1) ...

Silver Embossed Ornamental Cheer

Image
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is has a wonderful day of food, family and fun.   I'm looking forward to spending the day with my family.  Before I begin the making of our traditional Thanksgiving dressing, I wanted to post a Christmas card that I created last night!  I combined the colors from Color Throwdown with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches .  Then I added some silver embossing for the Paper Players !  So here is my card for these three challenges combined! Sometimes I have a hard time with non-traditional Christmas colors but I was immediately inspired by Color Throwdown's colors.   I used Close To My Heart colors of Pacifica, Olive and Sky with Silver Embossing as my 'grey'.   My ornament was cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut <Ornament 2>. Then I stamped it with the coordinating stamp from the set Ornamental Cheer (D1520) .  I love this set and have so many things I want to try with it.  I just ne...

She's 18! - A Birthday Card

Image
There is a very big birthday coming up on Monday.   My baby is turning 18!  It seems just yesterday that I was bringing that little bundle of joy home.   Now she's planning for college, and enjoying every last minute of her senior year in high school.  My how time flies. This week's  Color Throwdown  challenges includes her most favorite colors! So I knew I had to use them to make her a birthday card.  I combined the color challenge with the sketch from  Clean and Simple Stamping . I used the Close to My Heart colors of Cocoa, Chocolate and Crystal Blue cardstock.  The printed piece is from a retired Magnifique paper pack.  That was one of my favorite packs!  I used the  Artiste Cricut  cartridge to cut the Happy Birthday sentiment along with the "18" and banner that I adhered to a dimensional element.  The  Silver Shimmer Trim (Z1799)  is adhesive back and adds the right amount of spa...

Friday Mash-up Meets Color Throwdown

Image
Hello there! I got home from my annual MAD trip on Wednesday. After getting the 'mundane' house things accomplished (and catching up on sleep!), I finally had time to play along with some challenges! Armed with a list of challenges I had printed out, I went to work.   This week's Color Throwdown color drew me in right away because they had some colors from my FAVORITE paper pack - Flirty (X7160B) .  Note to self - Purchase another pack of this beautiful paper!!  I combined these colors with a sketch from Friday Mash-up for this card. I added Pear cardstock to Flirty's color's of Goldrush and Flirty Raspberry.  A great combination!   I used the new Artiste Cricut Cartridge for the banner, balloons and star.   The Artiste collection includes a stamp set that perfectly matches all three!  The banner is just the size for the Dimensional Elements - Banners that are ALSO included in the Artiste collection.   I used the Art Phi...

A Freshly Made Color Throwdown

Image
Today I put two Challenges that I love together.   Color Throwdown had some wonderful colors this week.  These fresh colors made it perfect for my other favorite challenge - Freshly Made Sketches ! I used Close To My Heart's colors of Lilac Mist, Buttercup, Sunset and Grey Wool.   WOW - it's been a LONG time since I've even opened my Lilac Mist pad!  But I love these colors together.... who would have thought Sunset with Lilac Mist and Buttercup? I used one of my favorite new stamps for this 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card - Just For You (B1398) .  The Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge makes a perfect cut for the large flower.  I alternated the colors as I stamped the petals for the flower.   I added a Sunset Button from the Sunset Mini Medley Collection (Z1338) and also some grey baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Neutral Assortment (Z1701) .  I tied little French Knots in the center of each of the three medallions. Here are my inspirat...
