Wow.... It's been a really busy week!  I had three of my monthly club meetings all this past week and in the middle of that, I've made a 6x6 book for a friend who is retiring (will share that soon), and I've been getting ready for convention - which means I needed to create a roomie gift too!   Our annual Close To My Heart Convention is next week and I've had a mile long list of things to do.   I'm slowly checking them off.   So, that has left little time for some plain ol' crafty fun. I did manage to squeeze some in this evening.   If you keep up with me, you know that no matter how busy I am, I still love to check in on my favorite challenge blogs.   Sometimes it helps to take a small break from 'busy' and do something fun.  That is exactly what I did tonight.  While my hubby was out watering the shrubs I took advantage of a little bit of time and threw together this card. Christmas is past and the New Year is fast approaching.  I had so much fun the last couple of months creating Christmas cards! But it's time to put away all my Christmas stamps and start some new projects!  I've been planning a technique card workshop in January and needed one more card.   Mojo Monday provided the perfect sketch to use!   My workshop - Cards With EDGE will be focusing on embossing!  This card is one of four cards we'll create. Here is the Mojo Monday sketch: (I used the square sketch for my 6x6 card) For this card I used the Hooray Bouquet (D1491)   stampset which coordinates with our Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge (Z1686) .   I cut the large flower <Flower6> at 2 3/4" and a smaller flower at 2".  The large flower was cut onto the Sorbet B&T from Elemental Level 2 (X7141B)  and the smaller 2" flower was cut on Colonial White Cardstock.  Even though the large flower was a print, I st...

I LOVED this sketch on the MoJo Monday Challenge blog and I knew immediately which paper pack I'd be using.   Is it any surprise that it would be Dreamin'?  I'm eatin' this pack up and I just might have to order more.  The colors are so rich and fun to work with. I checked the MoJo Monday Challenge this morning before work so that gave me all day to think about how I would go about creating my card.   As soon as I got home I started in on the card, only taking time off to get supper started.   (Fixed burgers, Mac & Cheese - keepin' it easy  - cause I had work to do!) I came across the Moxie Fab blog a few days ago and they had several card sketch challenges - 4 as a matter of fact!   Each sketch looked fun and I wanted to give them all a try when I had a chance.  I got busy and totally forgot until I saw a card created by my scrappin' bud Mandy. (See her cards over at Scrappity-Doo-Da ).  So tonight I sat down and re-visited Moxie Fab and checked out a few other challenges.  Over at the Heart 2 Heart, their challenge was to create something with die-cuts.  My first Moxie Fab sketch goes well with the H2H challenge so I'm submitting them for both! Here is the Moxie Fab sketch: " Shaped Sketch Challenge " And my card: I used the Arts Philosophy cricut cartridge to cut practically EVERYTHING for this card including the card itself!  I even cut the shaped flowers that I stamped with the Hooray Bouquet stamp.  (The exact measurements are included with the stamp set for perfect cutting) ...

Here is another stamp set from Close To My Heart's 2011 Autumn Winter Idea Book that I just couldn't wait to try out!  This stamp is called Hooray Bouquet and it has six stamps that coordinate with images on the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. I needed to make a card for a co-worker that is retiring this week. (Lucky gal!)  This was the perfect stamp for the card I had in mind. Hooray Bouquet and Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge The card pattern is from Wishes - Open Outline .   Although there is a template with the book for the cut out circle, I used my cricut cartridge to cut them out.  EASY! Desert Sand is the base for my 6x6 card.  I chose the sorbet pattern paper from the Elemental Paper pack and used one of the circle dimensional elements from the coordinating  Elemental Compliments .  Next I cut out the two flower shapes with the Arts Philosophy cricut cartridge - one on Sorbet cardstock and the smaller one on Colonial White cardstoc...
