Dreamin' Big With An Interactive Layout

Recently, I was looking for a fun layout to teach at my upcoming retreat.  I was struggling to find something fun and different.  That's when I turned to Close To My Heart's How To book - Magic.   I've had this book for a while and used several patterns in it but as of late it has just been sitting on my shelf.  How could I forget all the fun layouts in it!

I used the Magic pattern called Crystal Ball.  You can create the layout with an interactive wheel that turns and reveals additional pictures or journaling.  Here is the layout I created with Dreamin' Big paper. (PS Sorry for the glare - I have the layout in Memory Protectors to show how the interactive wheel works.)

I used my Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge to cut the large flower.  It was cut at 8 1/2".  I  used two stamp sets with this layout.  The Dreamin' Big Cardmaking Thin Cut Bundle includes the stamps and the Thin Cuts for the butterflies, dragonfly and beetles. The 2nd stamp, Journaling Prompts (B1548) was used to reveal the journaling under the wheel and for the title.

The journaling circle is attached the layout but the wheel is attached to the OUTSIDE of the memory protector with a brad.

I love this paper pack!  I was able to design the layout so that my class attendees could choose either bugs or flowers as their design just by choosing which side of the paper they wanted to show!  Here is the same layout with all the pieces flipped to the other side.

There were 2 sets of zip strips with words that coordinated with each of the layout designs.  I used these to add along the right page on both layouts.

Springtime Wishes

Have you ever created a layout and later (like DAYS later) changed it?  Well I did.  This was one of the first layouts I put together when I received my 1st order from the new Seasonal Expressions 1 book.  Instead of using White Daisy for my base pages, I used Juniper.  After I finished the layout I had it laying out on a table to photograph the next chance I had. Every time I walked past the layout it bothered me.  I kept thinking that something about it was just not right.  I couldn't quite put my finger on it.  Then I had one of those 'shower' moments. You know - the best ideas come to me when I have hot water pouring down on my brain. haha..... Anyway I quickly (and carefully) pulled everything off those Juniper base pages and reattached to White Daisy.  Suddenly I felt that all was RIGHT in my scrappin' world.  I did add some strips of Juniper to add a bit more splash of color.

This layout uses the Springtime Compliments that are in the new Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog. These compliments coordinate with the Whimsy Paper Fundamentals. Recently I shared another layout I created using the compliments.  If you missed it, you can see it here:  Twins Rule Springtime Layout

For this layout I used the papers featuring the Pixie, Smoothie and Juniper colors.  The layout is Pattern #7 from the How To book - Make It From Your Heart Vol 1.  I added ribbon from the Whimsy Ribbon Pack.  You can see a close up of the compliment cluster below:

Twins Rule with Springtime Wishes

I had so much fun creating this layout of my twin great-nieces with two new products in our Seasonal Expressions catalog - Springtime Compliments and the Twins Rule stamp.    The Springtime Compliments coordinate with the Whimsy Fundamental papers and include 2 sheets of stickers and white chip-board die-cuts - some with gold foil!

I really like the gold foil die-cuts so using gold embossing for stamping was just a given!  I used my Shin-Han markers to color the images to match my papers.  Here are some close ups of the clusters I created with the stamps and die-cuts.   To finish the layouts I added a few of our new Gold Glitter Gems.

These girls were so tiny then!!

This one is my favorite clusters!  I love the sentiments on this stamp set.  I stamped this sentiment on one of the plain white die-cuts and then heat embossed it in gold.

Stay tuned!  I've got another layout to share of these sweet babies with the Springtime Compliments!

I LOVE all the new papers and stamps in this book but I was so excited to see an addition to our Fundamental line that is featured in our Annual Inspirations.   We have four new sets of compliments that coordinate with our Fundamentals!  I chose to showcase the new My Girl Compliments that coordinate with the Adventure Fundamental papers.
My Girl Compliments - Z3308 $6.95

For this layout, I used the one page layout shown on page 45 of the SE1 book as a jumping off point to create the 2-page layout.  I used strips of bold stripe paper and tangerine dot B&T papers along with Tangerine and Lagoon Cardstock.  I also added a few cricut cut leaves in Lagoon cardstock using the Flower Market Cricut Cartridge to add a little more to my flower clusters.

For my 2nd layout, I started with a sketch from the Reflections How To book on the left page and added a 2nd sketch from the same book for the right page.  I used the Willow arrow paper and small dot Pansy paper along with Lagoon cardstock.  In addition to the compliments, I added silver Shimmer trim and some white dots from the new Black and White Dots accents.

Products Used:
White Daisy Cardstock - 1385
Tangerine Cardstock - X5786

January Stamp of the Month - Adore You

Welcome to the January Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Adore You. This set of 12 stamps. If you have come here from Cat Nowak's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

For my card I used new paper from the Sugar Rush paper pack accented with Gold Heat Embossing. I used the gold embossing on watercolor paper so that I could paint a swoosh of pink on the large heart and flowers.   Next I cut it out and used 3D foam tape to pop it up on the card.  I also used gold heat embossing on the small heart and the sentiment.   I added some Sugar Rush washi tape and a thin strip of Sea Glass Glitter paper along with some new Sugar Rush Dots.

Remember! You can get this stamp for just $5 during the month of January when you purchase $50 in Close To My Heart Products!
