January Stamp of the Month - This Moment

Image
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring This Moment , a set of 12 fun stamps. If you have come here from Teresa Scriven's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . I created a card for my next Technique Tuesday class using this set using one of our new embossing the folders - Heart (Z3018) and a fun technqiue called Inked Embossing. I felt like my card had too much 'white space' even with the inked embossed hearts so I stamped a black arrow in between the embossed hearts.  Another technique I used on this card is the masking technique.  I tried stamping the sentiment on top of the multiple circles but I didn't like the way it looked.  That is where the masking came in.   I used the technique on the sentiment so that the lines of the circle

Hopscotch with Compliments

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!  I can't believe how fast this year went.  My December was so busy I hardly had any time to do anything fun in my scrap room! Well now that Christmas is over and I have a few days off from work, I'm trying to do a little creating. In February my Hostess Clubs will be creating this layout from the Hopscotch WOTG kit.  The feature layout is so cute and it uses the Artbooking cartridge.  There were only TWO cuts with the paper trimmer for this layout! With the leftover papers from the kit and the Hopscotch Compliments that I added, I created a second layout.  This layout has no stamping. If you are interested in joining my Hostess Clubs or starting a club of your own, contact me for more details today!  My new session of clubs will begin in February and run through July.   These are the 2 layouts we will be doing in February.

Crafting on the Go with CTMH's New Rolling Tote

Image
Close To My Heart really hit it out of the park on this one!  I'm so excited about our new rolling tote! This has been a long awaited product by many consultants and customers alike. There is nothing that wasn't considered when designing this tote for crafters that love to go on retreats and crops.  Check out all of this organization! This tote is PERFECT for holding those fabulous organizers that we sell!  (Organizers are sold separate).  When you are ready to go to a crop or weekend retreat, all you need to do is drop in your organizers!  The above tote shows one Large Organizer, a Medium Organizer and three Small Organizers.  The Large Organizer is great for storing our stamps but can also store the embossing folders too. The Medium Organizer has removable sections to configure different ways. I use one for storing my ribbon rounds, bakers twine etc. you can also store stamp pads (laid horizontally) picture my life cards, embellishments etc. The small organize

Deal of the Decade and December Stamp of the Month

Image
Wow!!!  Where is December going?  I looked up and it is suddenly 1/2 over?  I'm no where NEAR done with my Christmas shopping!  You might have thought with my blog being a little dormant that I have been busy with decorating and shopping.  But, no.... I have no excuse.  My crafting has taken a little hiatus.  I think I became so overwhelmed with everything going on with day to day that the crafty side of my brain has taken a break.  I have gone and sat in my craft room but haven't really done much and I have a box of new product just waiting to be used! Even though I don't have any new creations that I have done lately to share I DO have a really cute card that was created by my fellow CTMH consultant and spa girlfriend Kristina Livingstone.   I'm participating in a Stamp of the Month Swap with several gals and Kristina had the Cutie Pie December Stamp of the Month to share.  This card is so cute I just had to share it! How could you not want this stamp?  Isn'

I couldn't wait to use the new mini book for an additional gift. These spiral  M

Picture My Life in a Display Tray

Today I want share a wedding gift that I created for my nephew and his wife.   I wanted to create something very special for them so what better way to give them a remembrance of their big day than something they can display! I just love it when I get a chance to create with Close To My Heart's Display Trays and when using our Picture My Life Cards, it just doesn't get any better!   I chose to use the For Always Picture My Life Cards for the tray. I chose to print the pictures in black and white and only use accents of color which were the same colors they had in their wedding.   I was able to keep my nephew's tie the true color by using picmonkey.com.   It's a free and easy to use photo editing site.  The hardest thing about putting together this tray was choosing WHICH cards to use!  They are all great!  I had so much fun cutting apart cards and putting them with other cards.   Here are few close up shots and what I did: For the main focus, I chos

Staying Warm and Cozy with Snowhaven

Image
Hi all!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends!  We had so much food we had the same meal 3 times!  Yes, I'm now over turkey.   I think maybe we will order Pizza tonight.  Sounds pretty good to me! Over the holiday I worked on some layouts for my Hostess Clubs.   My clubs love the Workshop On The Go Kits and they LOVE the Snowhaven paper but this particular pack wasn't accompanied by a WOTG kit.  So, I created one for them!  I revealed the layouts today for my Saturday Club and they loved them. Both of these layouts can be created with just one Snowhaven paper pack.  Add the Compliments, Assortments and White Shimmer Trim (available December 1) and you've got everything you need! If you order these items from my website I will send you my cutting guide and instructions for free! Products Needed: Snowhaven Paper Pack – X7188B Snowhaven Compliments – X7188C Snowhaven Assortments – Z3008 White

Always Time for Pie

Image
Thursday is Thanksgiving.  Do you have big plans?  Tradition for my family is go over to my Mother's house.  This year we'll be minus 2 families.  Two of my sisters will be hosting their husband's side of the family for their big Thanksgiving meals.  So, my other sister and I will be taking up the slack and preparing their usual traditional dish for our meal because it just wouldn't be right to have the meal without Sweet Potato Casserole and Corn Pudding! Every year I make the Cornbread Dressing so I'll be making that and also picking up the Sweet Potato Casserole.  I hope mine will be as good as my sister's! We will also be missing my Grandma and Ed this year.  They will be traveling to Ed's family to celebrate with them.   I created this Thanksgiving card to send to them.   If you follow my blog you know how much I love using Compliments on my cards!  This card uses the Pathfinding Compliments.   Recipe:  5 x 7 Card Pathfinding Complime

No Longer a Teenager

Image
Yesterday my youngest daughter turned 20!  The other night my husband noted that very soon we would no longer have a teenager in the house.  Boy, that felt weird..... after all these years.  Makes me feel just a wee bit old.   But, really I'm enjoying the age both my daughters have become.  Both beautiful young ladies that I really love spending time with. For my daughter's birthday card I chose to use the special Hostess Only Stamp "Better With a Friend" . This is so Kayli.  She loves dogs and actually I think she wanted one for her birthday but we already have a dog in the house that thinks he is human.   We sure don't need another one! When I started the card, I couldn't decide what colors to use so I went to check out the challenge blogs to see if there was something that would help me out.  I chose the color challenge from the Just Us Girls Challenge blog - Turquoise, Red and Gold.   I used cardstock from our Paper Fundamentals collection

I'm Going to Hawaii!!

Image
I've always wanted to go to Hawaii but I thought this was something that probably would never happen. One time, when we discussed going on vacation we started to look into it but the flights alone told us "Now is not the time".  So I just thought it would never happen.   Every year Close To My Heart has a fabulous trip or cruise to somewhere that consultants can earn. They always announce the next trip at convention.  I used to come home from convention and tell my husband where the next trip was going to be.   After about the 4th year when I told where the trip was, he said "Why do you tell me this? We never go".  So, after that I never told him.  I also never told him how close I was every year to earning the trip - Usually somewhere between two and three thousand dollars. So, here I was again.... within range but I still felt like it was too far out of reach for me to earn this year's trip to Hawaii.  Close To My Heart had even given us an extr
