December Stamp of the Month - Candy Cane Alphabet




Welcome to the December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!! This month's stamp is Candy Cane Alphabet. This is a fun holiday stamp set for creating titles and more!! I created this one page layout with our Oh What Fun paper pack.  When I had the pieces all laid out to glue on I felt that the white background for the base page was just too plain.  The border across the top of the page was so busy, so I wanted my base page to have a subtle print. So, I got venturous and pulled out my Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.  I added several drops of Sugarplum Shimmer brush to get that nice pink color.  I created a template of assorted trees from the Artbooking and You are Here cricut cartridge.  I thought it was kind of cool that they were similar in shape to the trees in the paper.


Here is the stencil I created with the trees.


And a close up view of the finished base page.  I love the shiny look of the Transparent Gloss Texture Paste.  It gave just the right amount of background that I was looking for.


To get the Scalloped edge for my title, I used the Thin Cut-Decorative Border across the White Daisy Cardstock.  Then I stamped the title with the Candy Cane Alphabet in Pomegranate ink.

The candy canes are from the hot chocolate image on the Seasons of Joy cricut cartridge.  I sliced them off so that I could use the candy canes without the cup. (I LOVE Design Space for this ability!) The house is from You Are Here. For the base of the house, I used paper from our Seasons Mix-ins paper pack.

Now, I want to share with a cute way to make a gift card holder!  I used the Artiste Cricut Cartridge to make this holder.  It was very simple!  The Cricut cuts the card and it folds so that you can slip a gift card inside! I set the cricut to cut at 5".  I recycled an old gift card so my card is a little thick. This size worked well.   If inserting a regular card you can use 4 3/4" measurement.  "Merry Christmas" is also cut using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  I set the measurement to 2".               To re
