April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Love So Sweet

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Love So Sweet. If you have come here from Michelle Loncar's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

I wanted to use a some of my Celebration Mix In paper so first I chose the Sapphire pattern.  Then I turned to my How To Book to see what colors would look good with Sapphire.  Raspberry, Saffron and Fern were suggested so this was just perfect for my flowers and butterfly!

The grey/white plaid pattern piece is from the Feels Like Home paper pack.  To give my plain rectangle shape some interest, I used the scallop border thin cut on one side.  I used a round tag from the Fancy Tags thin cut set as my 'landing' point for the flowers stamping the greenery in Fern ink and also a small butterfly in Saffron ink directly onto the tag.

Creating a multi-color butterfly is easy!  Here is how I did it.   Using a sponge dauber, I rubbed Saffron ink onto a piece of white daisy cardstock.  Then I rubbed Goldrush onto both sides of the saffron.  Next, I stamped the butterfly in black ink.  You can see that the tips of the wings picked up the Goldrush color while the saffron color shows mostly in the middle.  Try this technique out with other colors.   It really makes some beautiful butterflies!
