B is For Baby

Image
It feels nice to get back in the crafting groove and nothing is more inspiring to see a sketch that I can't wait to try out.   That's what happened yesterday when I saw the sketch over at Seize the Sketch.  Anything with banners will inspire me. I needed to create a card for a baby shower and this was perfect. For this 5x7 card, I used the colors of Outdoor Denim, Sky and Whisper . You can see a sneak peek of some fun new cardstock coming in February! It's the Whisper (grey) cardstock with an embossed design on it. This Whisper color is one of the 10 colors in the new Paper Fundamental Basic Assortment  pack.  Each color has a different glossy resist design on one side and the other side is the same design in white.  I was looking for something with just a little more texture than plan cardstock and remembered I had this new pack!  I know that I'm going to just love this new Paper Fundamentals pack! The little banners are from the stamp...

Buttons and Bows Baby Card

Image
It's been a REALLY long time since I've created a baby card. When I saw the challenge on The Paper Players to create a baby card with buttons and bows I thought it sounded fun!  I have the new Chantilly textiles and have been anxious to do something with one of the fabrics.  So, I pulled out the Buttercup pattern paper from the Chantilly paper pack and the pear print fabric from the textiles. Using the sketch from Retro Sketches I created this 6x6 card: RECIPE: Chantilly Paper (X7163B) Chantilly Textile (Z1819) Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon (Z1732) Stamp: New Arrival (C1501) Clear Buttons (retired) Pear Ink Black Ink Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge I used the pear fabric on the edge of the buttercup pattern paper.  For those of you that don't like to sew, I didn't use my sewing machine!  I wanted to show how easy it is to add fabric without sewing! First I cut a strip of fabric 3/4" wide.  Next, I used my ATG tape to add adhesive...

A Baby Card with Springs!

Image
Close To My Heart has a cute little New Arrival (C1501) stamp set in the new Spring Summer Idea Book.  I don't have too baby type stamps and whenever I need to make a card for a baby shower, I never seemed to have one I really liked.   When the new Idea Book came out I quickly added this one to my collection. CAS-ual Friday's challenge this week is "make a clean and simple baby project".  I had the perfect opportunity to try it out! I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my  4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. I used the Cotton Candy B&T paper from the Lucy (X7149B) paper pack for my card.  The base in the center is random stamped with the little flower from the New Arrival stamp using Cotton Candy ink.  If the center looks a little off, it is my elephant is 'springing' to greet you!  I used one of Close to My Heart's new products - Adhesive Springs (Z1725) .  These little 3/4" springs will make your artwork 'pop'!  You get six spri...

It's Oh Baby Over at H2H

Image
This week's H2H Challenge is all about Babies!  We could create anything with a new baby in mind.  I chose to make a card - actually two cards!  One for a boy and one for a girl.  I used the same pattern for both cards.  The pattern is called Designer Tab from Wishes .   My Baby Boy Card: Stars are cut from one of the B&T papers! RECIPE: Fanfare Level 2 Paper (X7138B) My Acrylix Stamp - Polka Dot Alpha (D1469) My Acrylix Stamp - Salutation Seals (C1461) Pacifica Exclusive Ink - (Z2192) Clear Button Assortment (1391) Designer Ribbon Blue Collection (Z1385) My Baby Girl Card: Instead of cutting a small slit for the flower tab, I used the pom-pom ribbon to slide the tab behind. RECIPE: Sweetheart Level 2 Paper (X7134B) My Acrylix Stamp - Polka Dot Alpha (D1469) My Acrylix Stamp - Spring Up (B1365) Baby Pink Exclusive Ink - (Z2102) Cotton Candy Exclusive Ink (Z2193) Pear Exclusive Ink (Z2197) Designer Ribbon Pink Collection (Z184) Bitt...
