Be Still...... A Sympathy Card

Image
It seems like all too often these days someone close is called home to be with the Lord.  So, lately I've been making a few sympathy cards - not always an easy task.   I wanted to share this Sympathy card I made for a friend who's father recently passed away. I chose to use the Buzz and Bumble paper for this card because before he had passed, my friend was telling me how he loved to keep bees.  She told me about the days when she was small and she would help turn the crank that would spin the hives to extract the honey.  I could tell she had a lot of memories of that.  Even weeks before he passed, she told me he still went out to take care of his bees. "Be Still and Know that I am God" is perfect for this card.  It comes from one of my most favorite stamps - Be Still (A1141).   Bees are fascinating - just a small part of this amazing world of nature that God created.  When you stop and take a moment to "Be Still", and take a look at the ...

Sympathy Card - Be Still

I needed to make 2 sympathy cards tonight.   It seems that I never have these on hand when I need them but I guess maybe that's ok.  When I am making a specific card for someone I think about that person or that person's family and friends as I'm making the card.  So maybe something a little extra special goes into the card as I'm creating the card. I used my new Be Still (A1141) stamp for this card along with the Mojo Monday sketch. One of the BEST things about being a Close To My Heart consultant is that we get a one month preview for the new products to be released in February.  I received my shipment of new products yesterday and was up late last night trying to get everything organized before I started playing.  The first thing I wanted to play with was the new Buzz & Bumble kit.  I just love that name!   I ordered the Workshop On the Go Kit which comes with some REALLY cute matching accents - little wooden bees. flowers and wax seals (not really wax but they sure look real!)..  Our Workshop On the Go Kits include an exclusive D-size stamp, instruction brochure, 6 B&T pattern papers, and 8 sheets of cardstock and coordinating embellishments.  After I created the 2 layouts for the kit I had plenty of paper left over to create even more. I love this week's Friday Mashup Challenge and thought Buzz & Bumble was perfect for it!  The challenge was to make a proj...
