Some Like It Hot with H2H

Image
This week's challenge over at Heart 2 Heart is 'Some Like It Hot'.  I thought about creating a summer time card but as I was going through my stamps, I came across this cute little set that I had never used before.  I've been creating lots of cards lately with retired papers for an upcoming Girl's Night Out Event in August.   I just kept coming back this to stamp so I decided to create a card with it for my event. The stamp set is called Cup of Cheer (B1404) .  The B&T paper I used was from the Elementals paper pack from a few years ago.  I paired it Indian Corn Blue and Cocoa.   I used retired ribbon (Cocoa Grosgrain) and a sorbet brad from my stash. Come on over and join us at H2H this week!

Live Laugh Love - A Fashion Inspiration

Image
I LOVE green.  For as long as I can remember, my favorite color has always been green.  So when I saw the Fashion Inspiration over at Moxie Fab, I couldn't wait to play with it.  This week it is all about being inspired by objects around us!   The Fashion Inspiration picture is a green houndstooth jacket adorned by what looks to be a pewter broach.   So how did I interpret this picture? I like the houndstooth print and I think that Close To My Heart's Elemental (X7141B)  paper was just perfect for my card.  I used one of Jeanette Lynton's sketches for this 5x7 card from the How To Book - Originals (9032) .  The sketch is Mosaic Borders .  The broach on the jacket above inspired me to add pewter accents to my card so I used the small pewter buttons from the Mini Medley Accents - Pewter Collection (Z1487) .  I pulled a piece of hemp through all three buttons and left the ends free.  The sentiment is from the Love Life stamp ...

A Blue Ribbon Congratulations!

Recently, it was announced that my 2nd Upline, Tina Sutton, was promoted to Presidential Director with Close To My Heart.  This is the highest honor you can achieve.  Tina along with 3 other ladies are the first ever to achieve this title.   Tina is so inspiring.  I've never met anyone with so much energy.  She loves to share her ideas and strives to help those that want to grow their business too!  I got to know Tina a few years ago when I attended a Seaside Retreat she held.  She told me then that her goal was to achieve the Presidential Director Level.  AND SHE DID IT!  I am so proud to be a part of Tina's team.  Here is the card that I made for Tina to send my Congrats! Recipe: Elemental Level 2 Paper (X7141B) Pacifica and Desert Sand Cardstock (Included in Elemental Level 2 Paper pack) Inks:  Desert Sand and Sorbet Pewter Brads All products are Close To My Heart

Getting Ready for My Autumn Winter Open House

Image
I've been working hard all week preparing for my Open House on Saturday so my blog has been getting neglected.   I have not had time to do any challenges but I still check them out to see what I'm missing!   Last weekend I went to a scrapbooking retreat at Petticoat Junction to work on my Open House projects.  I'm looking forward to showing off the new products that Close To My Heart has for Fall and Winter.    Here are a few cards I made last weekend using the Elemental Level 2 kit (X7141B) and the new Remarkable Wreath Stamp.   This stamp caught my eye when I was at convention and I knew right away that it was one that I wanted.  The wreath has 3 different seasons to stamp and I loved using it with the really versatile Elemental paper.   Spring Fall Christmas Remarkable Wreath C1473 Maybe next week things can start returning to normal.   Stay tuned!  Soon I'll share some fun upco...
