A Chevron Embossed Happy Birthday

Image
With this month's special - Get a FREE embossing folder with the purchase of 2 packs of cardstock (single color or combo), you are going to be seeing alot of embossed artwork on my blog!  I got my folders last week, and I just LOVE playing with them. Yesterday I created this card for my daughter's birthday.  She turned 24!  WOW..... hard to believe.  I came across the colors over at the Paper Players challenge and knew immediately that I wanted to use them for her card.  I combined the colors with the sketch over at the Sweetest Thing . The colors in the Paper Players challenge were Midnight Muse, Crisp Cantaloupe and Gold.  I used Close To My Heart's colors of Outdoor Denim, Sorbet and for my gold I used our Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape .  I adhered the washi tape to a piece of white cardstock and then cut it to the size I needed.   The polka dots were easy to line up so I was able to make the cardstock as wide as I needed. The birt...

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone is has a wonderful day of food, family and fun.   I'm looking forward to spending the day with my family.  Before I begin the making of our traditional Thanksgiving dressing, I wanted to post a Christmas card that I created last night!  I combined the colors from Color Throwdown with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches .  Then I added some silver embossing for the Paper Players !  So here is my card for these three challenges combined! Sometimes I have a hard time with non-traditional Christmas colors but I was immediately inspired by Color Throwdown's colors.   I used Close To My Heart colors of Pacifica, Olive and Sky with Silver Embossing as my 'grey'.   My ornament was cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut <Ornament 2>. Then I stamped it with the coordinating stamp from the set Ornamental Cheer (D1520) .  I love this set and have so many things I want to try with it.  I just ne...

Warmest Wishes for Paper Players

Image
I was so excited last night because I finally had a chance to sit down and work on some cards for a couple of challenge blogs!  It's nearly November and I'm a little behind on making Christmas Cards.   I love this sketch for The Paper Players  challenge this week.                                                              I used their sketch for this card I made last night. Close To My Heart's  Pear and Partridge paper (X7162B)  makes a great backdrop for this card.  I pulled out my  Perfect Fit - Frames (D1527)  which I have been dying to use!   This set goes coordinates great with 2 other stamps -  Perfect Fit - Holidays (B1412)  and  Perfect Fit - Halloween (B1413) .  The little 1 1/4" circles and sentiments nest inside the frames.  I used Perfect F...
