A Chevron Embossed Happy Birthday
With this month's special - Get a FREE embossing folder with the purchase of 2 packs of cardstock (single color or combo), you are going to be seeing alot of embossed artwork on my blog! I got my folders last week, and I just LOVE playing with them.
Yesterday I created this card for my daughter's birthday. She turned 24! WOW..... hard to believe. I came across the colors over at the Paper Players challenge and knew immediately that I wanted to use them for her card. I combined the colors with the sketch over at the Sweetest Thing.
The colors in the Paper Players challenge were Midnight Muse, Crisp Cantaloupe and Gold. I used Close To My Heart's colors of Outdoor Denim, Sorbet and for my gold I used our Gold Polka Dot Washi Tape. I adhered the washi tape to a piece of white cardstock and then cut it to the size I needed. The polka dots were easy to line up so I was able to make the cardstock as wide as I needed.
The birthday cake was first stamped in Sorbet and then I stamped it again in Outdoor Denim and Desert Sand and cut out the pieces that I wanted to layer onto the cake. Since the Desert Sand was not 'gold' enough for me, I used my Gold Marker to color the cake stand.
I used the Chevron Embossing folder and the Belated Birthday stamp set.
