Another November Birthday!

Image
This time it is my husband's birthday!  He loves to hunt so it is only fitting that I create a card with a deer on it.  I had fun making this one.  I love it that our new Artistry Cricut Cartridge has a deer head on it!  So far, this may be this biggest deer he has seen all season! This card is all cardstock so I gave the pieces some type of texture.  I dug around and found an old texture tool I had to brush some ink onto the deer and the antlers.  Next, I used my woodgrain embossing folder on the mount behind the deer (another Artistry shape) and I used the striped embossing folder on the Outdoor Denim piece of cardstock.  The birthday banner is also cut from the Artistry cartridge.   The birthday sentiment is from Belated Birthday (B1442) which is now retired. Now that all my November birthdays are over, I guess I can start concentrating on my Christmas Shopping!!

Something Spicy for Heart 2 Heart

Image
This week at Heart 2 Heart the challenge is titled The Spice of Life.   I decided to create a card that reminded me of spicy colors.  I used Cocoa, Ruby, Honey and Autumn Terracotta for my colors on this card.  I used two different embossing folders - Chevron and Stripes and had the stripes going in different directions to make it interesting. Recipe: Cocoa Cardstock - X5642 Ruby Cardstock - X5927 Honey Cardstock - X5668 Autumn Terracotta Cardstock - X1720 Rosewood Mii Medley - Z1857 Neutral Metallic Baker's Twine - Z1921 Ruby Exclusive Ink - Z2104 Stamps:   All the Details - D1555   True to Life - C1575

I was so excited to see that Close To My Heart added embossing folders to our product line.  Sometimes a card just needs a little texture to make it complete!  One of my favorite techniques to use with embossing folders is called Embedded Embossing.   This is a really cool technique that I wanted to share for this blog hop. Embedded Embossing is a technique used to embed cut images into your cardstock creating the illusion that it is one piece of cardstock. ...
