WOW.... what a beautiful day we are having here in Middle Tennessee today.  But alas, it will not last.  While today's temp will reach mid 70's by Friday night the freezing temps will be back.  That is how it here - flip flops one day and the next you are looking for those woolly socks.  UGH....  enough of the weather.  Let's move on to something more exciting to talk about! This weekend I got a chance to play with more new product from our Seasonal Expression 2 that is coming out in April!  This time I pulled out the new Jackson paper pack .  I LOVE this paper. The patterns and colors are just beautiful! It's been a very long time since I last participated in a challenge!  The last few months were busy and any free crafting time I had was devoted to class designs.  I've got my classes set through February so I thought I'd take a fun break and hit a challenge or two! I created this simple card using the sketch from Case This Sketch and colors from The Paper Players. I used Juniper, Flaxen and Sunset inks for this card.  The stamp is called A Bunch of Thanks. Wow!   Just two more days to grab the Free To Be Me Paper Pack for $5!  I LOVE this paper.... so much that I was able to get TWO!  I took a quick time out last night to sneak into my craft room and create one more card to share before this awesome promotion ends!  For this card, I used sketch #197 over at The Paper Players this week. I finally got around to using my Oodles of Doodles (B1449)  stamp set.  It was one of the first stamps I purchased when the Spring Summer Idea was released.  It is such a fun stamp!  I really need to use it more.  My accents are from the now retired Trinket Wooden Shapes.  I was excited to find little arrows to match my paper!  The twine is Hemp Bakers Twine from the Mini Medley Accents Wooden Collection (Z1837). Mother's Day is just around the corner.  I'm a little behind on getting my cards made but I have finished one!  I'm sharing this one today.  I couldn't wait to get the "Mother's Day" stamp when it was first released in Close To My Heart's Spring Summer Idea Book.  I actually started this card over a week ago and after playing around with ideas for a while I had to set it aside.  One of those lack of mojo days I guess.  But I came back to it last weekend and began to put it together.  I love using silhouette stamps. There is an elegance about them that really appeals to me.  I'm not sure I did this one justice but I do like the way the card turned out. I used some paper from the Skylark  (X7177B) paper pack.  For my Mother's Day sentiment I cut a shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge and stamped the frame with one of the frames from the set - Frame Flair (D1546).   I used sparkles from the Sparkles Clear Assort...

Wow.... my blogging has been a little lagging lately.  I haven't spent much time in my craft room lately - mainly due to 2 reasons..  1) Lack of mojo... 2) I've been spending more time at the gym!  Maybe reason #2 is the REASON for #1.   I set a weight goal to reach by June (actually by our next Close To My Heart Convention) and so that it isn't overwhelming, I set a MONTHLY goal. I'm happy to say, I'm on track to reach my goal for March.  When I get home I have all good intentions for getting some craft on but by the time I've showered and grabbed a bite of HEALTHY dinner, I seem to have trouble finding my mojo! One of the new stamp sets in the Holiday Guide is Santa Claus (C1567) .  If you love all things Santa like me, then this adorable stamp is a must have!   I used the sketch from this week's Paper Players challenge to create this card.   The masking technique helps to create a Ruby Santa's cap after stamping Santa in Slate ink. Have you ever come upon a sketch that you just HAD to do?  Every day I check lots of sketch challenges and I like most that I see.  But occasionally, I come across one that becomes a MUST DO before the week is out no matter how busy I am.   I've had a very busy week last week with two Hostess Clubs meeting, a workshop on Sunday and getting various post ready for upcoming blog hops. On Sunday I saw the sketch for Paper Players challenge and I just couldn't quit thinking about what I wanted to do with it!  I have so many other things I need to be doing, like doing the wash and prepping for an upcoming trip, getting ready for my other two Hostess Clubs that meet this week, but I stopped everything for about 30 minutes last night to create a card for the Paper Players sketch. I've been working all weekend on my artwork submission application to teach at convention this year.  I taught last year and it was a wonderful experience.  Not sure I could be so lucky to get picked two times in a row but it would be great if I did!  I've finished my artwork, now I just need to pack it up and get it shipped.  I'll be sharing those things a little later. When I finished today I wanted to make a quick card for a couple of challenges.   Sometimes I get so caught up in new product that I don't have to time to go back and use some of my old favorite stamp sets.  Today, I did!  I pulled out one of my all time favorite sets and it's still available today! I used the sketch #17 from CASe this Sketch and colors from Dynamic Duos for this card. The colors are Close To My Heart colors of Topiary and Honey .  My stamp is Just For You (B1398) . It's been a REALLY long time since I've created a baby card. When I saw the challenge on The Paper Players to create a baby card with buttons and bows I thought it sounded fun!  I have the new Chantilly textiles and have been anxious to do something with one of the fabrics.  So, I pulled out the Buttercup pattern paper from the Chantilly paper pack and the pear print fabric from the textiles. Using the sketch from Retro Sketches I created this 6x6 card: RECIPE: Chantilly Paper (X7163B) Chantilly Textile (Z1819) Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon (Z1732) Stamp: New Arrival (C1501) Clear Buttons (retired) Pear Ink Black Ink Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge I used the pear fabric on the edge of the buttercup pattern paper.  For those of you that don't like to sew, I didn't use my sewing machine!  I wanted to show how easy it is to add fabric without sewing! Here is another card I created for this year's Extravaganza Moonlight class at our Close To My Heart convention in Dallas.  This card was so much fun to create!  Once again, I used our new Moonlight paper pack to create this 5 x 7 card.   I used our new Artiste Cricut Cartridge  (Z1790) to cut out the Owl.   One key (Eek! <Accent 3>) on the cartridge cuts out the body of the owl.  I used our new SLATE cardstock for the body.   Then using the same measurement and same key plus the "SHIFT" key I cut out the feathers, wings, eyes, nose and feet in our Goldrush cardstock!    I sponged the edges with Goldrush ink to give it more definition and added Bitty Sparkles to each wing.  The owl's eye are dotted with black sparkles from the new Sparkles - Black & Grey Assortment (Z1754).    I used our Black Stubble tool with black ink to add texture to the card base.   Other products used: Perfect...
