April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Love So Sweet

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Love So Sweet. If you have come here from Michelle Loncar's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

I wanted to use a some of my Celebration Mix In paper so first I chose the Sapphire pattern.  Then I turned to my How To Book to see what colors would look good with Sapphire.  Raspberry, Saffron and Fern were suggested so this was just perfect for my flowers and butterfly!

The grey/white plaid pattern piece is from the Feels Like Home paper pack.  To give my plain rectangle shape some interest, I used the scallop border thin cut on one side.  I used a round tag from the Fancy Tags thin cut set as my 'landing' point for the flowers stamping the greenery in Fern ink and also a small butterfly in Saffron ink directly onto the tag.

Creating a multi-color butterfly is easy!  Here is how I did it.   Using a sponge dauber, I rubbed Saffron ink onto a piece of white daisy cardstock.  Then I rubbed Goldrush onto both sides of the saffron.  Next, I stamped the butterfly in black ink.  You can see that the tips of the wings picked up the Goldrush color while the saffron color shows mostly in the middle.  Try this technique out with other colors.   It really makes some beautiful butterflies!

Remember! This stamp only available during the month of April!
Get it for just $5 with a $50 purchase!

New Summer Virtual Classes coming soon!

One great thing about being a CTMH consultant is our early 1 month preview to the new catalog!  I received my new catalog at the Seasonal Expressions 2 Launch I hosted (another perk) and all I can say right now is WOW!!!  So many great papers, stamps and more!

Here's a peek at the cover of this new catalog!

I immediately loved all four of the new Cardmaking Workshop Your Way kits!  I loved them so much that I wanted to do another Summer Virtual Card Class!   I've done 2 other sessions of virtual cardmaking classes and they were so much fun!  If you did not participate, here is how my virtual class works.  (This year I'm adding a 2nd option)

Option 1 - Pre-Cut Option.  Place your order for the class kit with me.  I'll submit the order, it will ship to me. I'll pre-cut the kit and ship to you! The cost of this option is $30.  This includes shipping to you priority mail.  Everything you need is in the kit except for ink pads.  Many times attendees already have the colors of ink they need.  I will send a list of ink colors needed and you will be able to add ink pads to your order if you want for an additional cost.   I ship out the kits so that everyone has received theirs by the 15th-20th of the month.

Option 2 - Order On Your Own Option.   This option is new.  There might be a few ladies out there that WANT to cut their own paper.  This gives you a little more creative options when you complete your cards.  I will have a Class Party Link posted.  Those ordering the kits on their own will need to join that link and purchase their kits on my website no later than the 5th of the month.  (This will be the close date of the party).  This should ensure that everyone receives their kit by the 15th.   You will have the ability to add other items to your order.  Your kit ships directly to you from Close To My Heart.

ALL kits will include supplies to create 12 cards (6 each of 2 designs) including an exclusive stamp set, 12 cards & envelopes and instruction guide.  Additional supplies needed: Ink, blocks, scissors, and adhesive.   I will post a list of inks needed before placing the order so you can add any additional inks if needed.

There will be a private closed classroom set up on Facebook.  I will post two videos each month for the class.  The 1st video will be cutting the paper.  Those cutting their own papers can cut along with me or they can use the included guide.  The 2nd video will the creative video.  Watch and work along me as I show you how to create the cards, pointing out tips and techniques along the way.  The videos stay up so you will have access to them any time you want - even after the session is over!

As a special bonus - I will create two extra cards using the same pre-cut pieces to show you different options for the cards not shown in the guide!  You will see these shared ONLY in this classroom!  I provide complete instructions for the extra cards that you can use to create your own!

BUT WAIT!!  There is an EXTRA SPECIAL BONUS!  Everyone that participates in my Summer Session of Classes (May, June, July and August) will receive a special card kit from me for FREE!!  I will send you a pre-cut kit for 4 exclusive cards created with the the Mix In papers!

So - are you in?  I will be sending out the first class information by April 29th.

Love Blossoms Blog Hop

Welcome to our Love Blossoms Blog Hop! This special hop features our exclusive stamp - Love Blossoms! This is a set of TWO stamps! If you came from Michelle Loncar's Blog you are on the right track! If you are just starting the hop, it is a big circle so when you get back to me, you will know you finished the hop! You will find the next blog to hop to at the bottom of my post!

Although you can purchase this stamp set as part of a workshop kit, (instructions for the cards shown above can be downloaded from my website), you can purchase JUST the stamp set!  It has lovely sentiments and the flowers stamp beautifully!  So I think it is a must have for your stamp inventory!  I've created a few cards with this stamp but I created one that I wanted to feature specifically in this hop because it is a little different from the other I created.

I cut a 4 x 5 1/2 piece of White Daisy Cardstock and then stamped the flowers in Charcoal around the edges making sure to leave space in the center.  I used the 'watercolor' flower with Ballerina ink and stamped the flowers and then used Fern ink and my watercolor brush to paint the leaves.   Although it does not show up in the picture, I used the Clear Shimmer Brush to brush over all of the flowers to give them some shimmer.

Next I cut out the 'white space' in center.   I stamped "my heart" right onto the front of the card base and then used foam tape to pop up the flowers on the card.   I used silver glitter gems and the silver embellishing thread for accents.

It is easy to see that this stamp set would be great for journaling!  I changed up the layout in the So Much Happy Workshop on the Go and used this stamp set in place of the journaling lines that were added to the right page layout. I also added a few stamped sentiments from the set.  Can you find the ones I added?

Thin Cuts Blog Hop

Welcome to our Thin Cuts Blog Hop!  This hop features our newest Thin Cuts that are available in the Seasonal Expressions 1 catalog!  If you came from Wendy Kessler's Blog you are on the right track!  If you are just starting the hop, it is a big circle so when you get back to me, you will know you finished the hop!  You will find the next blog to hop to at the bottom of my post!

I chose to feature two new thin cuts.  First, I chose the Budding Peony Stamp + Thin Cuts.  I stamped the flower in Charcoal Ink and then colored it with the Sugarplum Shimmer Brush.  The center of the peony was colored with the Gold Shimmer Brush.  The leaves were colored with the Sap Green ShinHan Touch Twin Marker.  The picture does not show the shimmer of the peony which is really pretty!  I layered the flowers on top of the Stitched Rectangle Frames of Linen and Ballerina Cardstock.  The lovely Feels Like Home Paper is used for the base of this card.   I added Gold Glitter Gems for added sparkle.

February Stamp of the Month - Heartfelt Sentiments

Welcome to the February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Heartfelt Sentiments.  If you have come here from Haley Dyer's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE.

I felt like most people would think this stamp belongs on a scrapbook page because it is so big but I wanted to show that you can use it on a card too!  My card really is pretty simple!  If you love to color, then you will love this set!

I stamped the large image two times with Charcoal ink. First, onto a piece of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white cardstock and then onto a scrap piece of cardstock.  Because I used ShinHan Touch Twin markers, I did not stamp the image directly onto the card to color.  The markers do bleed through to the other side. After coloring the flowers and leaves, I tied some Silver Embellishing thread around the card. On the stamped scrap piece, I colored the word outlines for Heart Happy and then trimmed closely around the edge.  I popped this piece up with 3D thick foam dots and adhered directly over the the words on the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 stamped piece. I used the little dots stamp to fill in all the 'white space' around the flowers.  Finally, I added a few sparkles for a finishing touch!

Products Used:
February Stamp of the Month - Heartful Sentiments
White Daisy Cardstock
ShinHan Touch Twin Markers:
Tender Pink (Z2464), Cherry Pink (Z2450),
Sap Green (Z2463), Leaf Green (Z2454),
Marigold (Z2457), Golden Yellow (Z2452)
Charcoal Ink
Clear Sparkles
Silver Embellishment Thread

Heart Happy Blog Hop

The month of love is right around the corner and we've got the perfect paper  - Heart Happy!  Close To My Heart actually released this limited time exclusive paper pack in December.  This exclusive paper suite includes, paper, coordinating cardstock, sticker and a stamp set!  You can purchase each separately, getting exactly what you want or you can SAVE and purchase a WYW kit that includes everything you need to create a 2 single page layouts, a two page layout, 10 cards and 5 tags!

Today, we've got some great projects to share using the Heart Happy products!  If you came from Melinda's blog you are on the right track.  You will find the next blog to hop to at the bottom of my post.  This hop is a big circle.  If you are just starting, when you get back to me you will know you completed the hop!

Let's check out what I created! This paper pack has some great patterns in this pack that are great for non-valentine themes.  I wanted to showcase this paper in a non valentine way.

I based this layout off of the layout that is included in the I Heart Us Workshop Your Way kit.  The left page is pretty close to original but I changed up the right page to include more photos for the sizes I needed.  I love how easily it is to adapt and adjust existing layouts for other themes!  The only stamping on this page is the title!  All my other accents came from the Cut Apart Sheet! Let's take a look....

I used the glasses from the Cut Apart Sheet but I didn't want the "YOU ARE" words to show.  I just wanted it to say "Spectacular".  So I strategically placed the flowers over the left lens to cover up the words.

Here is an "OOPS" that actually became a "That's ok!".   I stamped the words "BEST DAY" with the Simply Said Stamp set and the word "Ever!" with Erin's Hand.  See the 'heart' where the letter "v" should be?  That was actually an "OOPS!".  I place the 'v' on my block facing down with the back side of the stamp up!  I didn't realize it until after I had stamped my title.   But I thought this looked like a heart so I left it!  (You probably wouldn't have even known that if I had not pointed it out!).  BTW, this month only - January, ALL of our Alphabet Stamps are 35% off!!  The two that I used here are my very favorites!

Products Used:
Heart Happy Paper Pack - CC2193
White Daisy Cardstock - X6027

Sapphire Exclusive Ink - Z2848

Seasonal Expressions 1 New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our NEW PRODUCT Blog Hop!  We just released our 2019 Seasonal Expressions catalog on January 1 and it is full of exciting brand new products!  Consultants get a one month early preview which means we have had product in our hands since December to play with!  I can't wait to see what everyone has been creating!  This hop is a big circle so when you get back to this page, you will know you completed the hop!  Let's get started!  If you came from Hayey Dyer's blog you are on the right track.   You will find the next blog to hop to at the bottom of my post.

One of the products that I was most excited about in this new catalog was the Thin Cuts - Stitched Quilt Shapes.  I think I might have actually squealed when I saw these!  I could NOT wait to get these in my hands to play with!

There are so many ways to create a quilt top and these thin cuts provide so many options!  Here is my first (of many cards) that I created.

For my card, I used the colors of Sugarplum, Mint and Heather.  This color combination was featured in the Love of Color Book for Mint.  I used the new Swiss Dots embossing folder for the Heather cardstock piece.  For the Sugarplum quilt pieces I alternated between the dark and light sides.  The mint gingham paper is from the new Mix-in Paper pack.  I love the thin cut stitched quilt pieces that do not actually cut.  After using the stitched square thin cut, I added the stitched flower to the center.  The stitched Decorative Border Thin Cut was used on the gingham strip.

I stamp the sentiment from Quilt Quotes with Heather ink and then used the small 3 petal thin cut to accent both sides of the sentiment.

I can't wait to create more cards with this thin cut set!

White Cards and Envelopes Value Pack (X254)

If you came from Haley Dyer's Blog you are on the right track! The hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you will know you have completed the hop! I thought it would be fun to create some cards with this month's feature paper - Something Fierce.  I used some of my leftover complements on this card and added fun thin cuts.

For the bottom portion of my card I used two strips of the scallop paper and layered each with a piece of matching watercolor B&T paper cut with the Decorative Borders Scallop Thin Cut. I stamped the dots in Sapphire ink across the top of the scallop. I used the "sending you sunshine and rainbows" sentiments just above the dots. I cut 2 sizes of stitched circle thin cuts in the yellow print B&T paper and stamped "Get Well Soon" in Sapphire ink on the smaller circle. Gold Sequins add the finishing touch.
