2017 Annual Christmas Card Workshop Wrap Up

Last Saturday I held my Annual Christmas Card Workshop.  Instead of having 2 different dates, this year I rented one big room my workshop on one day.  I also added an extra option - a Card Dessert Buffet!  After the attendees were finished with their card workshop- 10 Cards created with the Oh Deer! paper and Compliments, they could then add some desserts!

I had 14 different card designs to choose from for my buffet so there were plenty of choices! Here are my dessert cards they got to choose from:

I brought these cards back from the 2015 White Pines Cardmaking Kit

I have one more card that I don't have a picture of at the moment but I'll be sharing that one soon.

It was definitely a fun day and I think the desserts were an extra special treat.  I'm already looking forward to planning next year's workshop!

Now, I want to share with a cute way to make a gift card holder!  I used the Artiste Cricut Cartridge to make this holder.  It was very simple!  The Cricut cuts the card and it folds so that you can slip a gift card inside! I set the cricut to cut at 5".  I recycled an old gift card so my card is a little thick. This size worked well.   If inserting a regular card you can use 4 3/4" measurement.  "Merry Christmas" is also cut using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.  I set the measurement to 2".               To re

The Proposal

Here is another layout for the Study Abroad album I've been working on.  This layout is the last layout in the book.  During their last week in Cuba, John proposed to Kayli.  One of the other students knew it was going to happen so he was prepared with a camera.  I was so happy I could save that special day in a layout for them. For this layout I used paper from Calypso along with Kraft cardstock for my base pages.  For my flowers, I used watercolor paints creating a wash of color.  Once it dried, I stamped several flowers from the Hawaiian Hibiscus stamp.   This is one of the new Clear Watercolor PML cards .   I painted it a light blue with my watercolor paint.   Once painted the hearts show up very well. Here is a close up of some of the flowers.   I'm not very good at watercolor detail painting so that is why I use the easy 'wash of paint' and then stamp method.   Products Used: Calypso Paper - X7210B Hawaiian Hisbiscus - B1527
