August SOTM - Tutti Frutti Blog Hop

 


Welcome to our August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. In this blog hop we are featuring Tutti Frutti Summer. This set includes 15  FUN fruity images for your summer pages and cards! This is such a CUTE stamp set!  I love the layout that the CTMH artist created to showcase this set.  Did you see it in the Blog Badge above?  So hard to top that!!   I wanted to create a summer layout with this set also.   Again.... I turned to our Make It From Your Vol. 5 for pattern inspiration!  (I have been having so much fun using the patterns from this book!!) 

Here is my Summer Layout....


I used ALL cardstock for this page - Bluebird, Canary and Smoothie.  I used tone on tone stamping to stamp a background onto the light side of the cardstock.  Pool Rules (C1897) is the perfect background stamp!   I really wanted to showcase clean lines and bright colors on this page so I chose not to color in the stamped fruit images in the corners of my page. To pull in some Smoothie color on the left page, I stamped Hello Summer in Smoothie and stamped the fruit with black ink onto Smoothie cardstock.

I tried different variations of stamping for "Fun in the Sun" on the right page, first stamping the title in Canary and Smoothie but it just didn't flow.  I finally opted for a Black ink title with fruit slices stamped in Canary and Smoothie which seemed to work much better.  

I added white dots and black bursts to finish the embellishing of the layout.  This one was so much fun!  I can't wait to add photos.

    Fabulous layout! I love the corners and how you paired the SOTM with the Pool Rules stamp set and used it on the cardstock strips. The colors are perfect for summer photos.

Now, I want to share with a cute way to make a gift card holder!  I used the Artiste Cricut Cartridge to make this holder.  It was very simple!  The Cricut cuts the card and it folds so that you can slip a gift card inside! I set the cricut to cut at 5".  I recycled an old gift card so my card is a little thick.
