You're One in a Melon

Image
Here is another fun card with the One in a Melon stamp set.   I used Calypso paper for the background of the card. Using Cotton Candy and Pear inks, I stamped the watermelon across the bottom.  I stamped "You're one in a Melon" directly on the card with Cotton Candy ink and then again in Pear on a piece of scrap cardstock.  I cut out each letter (yes - each letter!) and added it to the top of the Cotton Candy letters using little tiny strips of foam tape.  That is what I love about foam tape!  You can cut it into what ever width you need! Since this stamp set coordinates with the Artistry Cricut cartridge I was able to cut out the pineapple and then stamped it onto my shape.   The little arrow at the top is one of the Calypso compliments.  I added black sequins from the Calypso sequins pack to accent my card. OK - I think I'll go eat some watermelon now! Products Used: CALYPSO PAPER - X7210B CALYPSO COMPLIMENTS - X7210C ONE IN ...

Stampinheaven Winter Retreat

Image
I'm still recovering from my StampinHeaven Winter Retreat! We had a blast.  I shared in my post the other day how I created an easy photo booth for the retreat.   Since the retreat was being held in February and I figured we would have our usual COLD weather and maybe just maybe a little bit of snow, I planned my retreat around a winter theme.   Well, as it turned out, we had temperatures in the mid to upper 60s which is probably typical of Tennessee weather - you just never know one day to the next.  THIS week now they are predicting snow flurries. Since my theme was winter I designed a winter layout for my retreat pack.  Each retreat attendee got everything they needed to create this winter layout below.    All of these images were cut from the Atistry cricut catridge.  I love it how the lodge reminded me of the lodge we were staying in!  After taking photos in front of my winter theme photo booth, they could then attach pictures to the l...

Create Your Own Photo Booth Props!

Image
This past weekend I hosted a Scrapbooking Retreat at Henry Horton State Park.    I decided to add a little fun to our retreat by creating a Photo Booth.    This was easy do and creating props was easy with Close To  My Heart's Artistry and Artiste Cricut Cartridges! First, I created a backdrop using plastic tablecloths and painter's tape (for clean and easy removable) and added a few large snowflakes cut from Glitter Paper along with some strands of silver ribbon.   I had a Winter theme even though it was mid to upper 60's here in Tennessee all weekend! Who knew February would be so warm?! Here are some of the props I created with the Close To My Heart Artistry and Artiste Cricut Cartridges.   There were different speech bubbles on each cartridge.  I used the Handwritten Print (E1030) stamp for the phrases.  This was a good size font that was easy to read.  The sunglasses and champagne glass was cut from the Artistry Cartrid...

Glittering Ornaments Say Merry Christmas

Image
About a week ago I was flipping through a Pier 1 catalog that I got in the mail and came across a picture of this beautiful frame.  I kept thinking about the frame and how it would make a really pretty Christmas Card. photo credit - Pier 1 Imports This frame was my inspiration for this card!  I used my Artbooking cricut cartridge and Design Space to cut the Overlay (6 1/2 x 4 1/2).  I cut the Overlay four times  -twice in White Daisy, Teal Glitter paper and Green Glitter paper.  I used the White Daisy as my base and cut apart the Teal and Green Glitter Ornaments.  I cut two White Daisy overlays so that I could use ALL of the ornaments.  So I have another card just like this only the ornaments shown here are an opposite color on the other card.  Under the overlay is a 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 White Daisy cardstock embossed the with the Confetti Stars embossing folder.  All of this is layered onto a 7 x 5 Card.  The Merry Christmas Ba...

Another November Birthday!

Image
This time it is my husband's birthday!  He loves to hunt so it is only fitting that I create a card with a deer on it.  I had fun making this one.  I love it that our new Artistry Cricut Cartridge has a deer head on it!  So far, this may be this biggest deer he has seen all season! This card is all cardstock so I gave the pieces some type of texture.  I dug around and found an old texture tool I had to brush some ink onto the deer and the antlers.  Next, I used my woodgrain embossing folder on the mount behind the deer (another Artistry shape) and I used the striped embossing folder on the Outdoor Denim piece of cardstock.  The birthday banner is also cut from the Artistry cartridge.   The birthday sentiment is from Belated Birthday (B1442) which is now retired. Now that all my November birthdays are over, I guess I can start concentrating on my Christmas Shopping!!

My Baby is 21!

Image
Wow.... Time sure does fly by!!  My baby turned 21 today.  We had an early celebration last night because she has such a busy schedule!!  She is SO busy in fact, that when I asked her where she wanted to go eat for her birthday celebration (this is standard tradition in our house) she told me she just wanted a home cooked meal.   In addition to her home cooked meal and home made birthday cake - just standard chocolate with buttercream frosting - I made her this card. I loved this hexagon stamp (Hexagonal Patterns) and just had to have it.  It's been in my box since August and this was the first time I've used it!  I cut out all three sizes of hexagons and stamped them all up in lagoon, Pear, Black and Poppy.  But when I finally decided on my card design, I was down using only the smallest hexagon and just Lagoon, Pear and Black inks.   Sometimes too many choices can make things difficult!  I used my Hexagon Embossing Folder to cre...

Say Hello to Artistry!

Image
I know that everyone is eagerly awaiting the release of the new Annual Inspirations from Close To Heart but we still have a month to go.  I'm keeping as much as I can under wraps until my big reveal at my Bingo Night on August 28th.   But Close to My Heart HAS generously released a few things a month early!   On Saturday, the brand new much anticipated Artistry Cricut Collection became available to order along with one of the new paper suites - Zoe!  I love this bright, cheerful paper! Today I'm sharing a card I created using the new Artistry cricut cartridge combined with the new Zoe paper! One of the fun things about this new cartridge is the many layered banners (over 200 different styles!).  Here, I cut "Hello" in Smoothie and layered it on White Daisy shape.  Aren't those flowers cute??  I cut those in Glacier and Canary cardstock and used some Zoe polka dot paper for the leaves. Check out the new shimmer trim!!  CORAL - soo prett...
