ShinHan Touch Twin Marker Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to our ShinHan Touch Twin Marker Blog Hop!  This hop is featuring artwork created with the brand new ShinHan Touch Twin  markers from Close To My Heart.     If you have come here from Michelle Loncar's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . I used one of my favorite stamp sets for this blog hop - Rainy Day (Z1597)  .  I'm certainly not a coloring expert but I have to say, that coloring with the new ShinHan Touch Twin markers is so easy! I only used 2 colors on this card - Cerulean Blue Light Marker (Z2449) and Pastel Green (Z2459) . I used the Sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping for my card. Now it is time to hop on over to Heather Schmuckal's blog and see what she has to share!

Flowery Easter Wishes

Image
I'm sooooo ready for spring!!  Tonight they are calling for temps around 25 here in Middle Tennessee.   All the Bradford Pears are in bloom and now everything will just turn an ugly brown.  I'm so over it!  I guess that I why I pulled out this cute little flower stamp to create a card tonight.    I want some color back in my day! This was simple card to create.   I debated adding some bling but then decided that sometimes simple is just enough.   Let the flowers be the focus. For this card I used the colors of Sorbet, Pacifica, Sweet Leaf and Slate.  The flowers are from the stamp set - Enjoy the Litte Things.  This is a set for that is exclusive to Hostess.  A Hostess can choose this stamp as part of their rewards at a reduced price.             Greatest Love - B1444 Enjoy the Little Things - Hostess Only Set Thank you for stopping by!! A Cloud Nine Happy Birthday

Image
Here is another card I made with my left over scraps from the Cloud Nine Cardmaking Kit! I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping for this card.  The sketch intrigued me because of the cut out spots in the main portion of the card.   I used the Cloud Nine B&T piece for the background cutting the Lagoon cardstock a little smaller.   Then I stamped the Happy Birthday image on the Lagoon cardstock.  I cut out the image that I stamped leaving a good width around. Next I stamped the Happy Birthday Cloud onto White Daisy cardstock using the two tone inking method with Sunset and Lagoon Ink.   This stamp coordinates with the Artiste cricut cartridge so stamping on the pre-cut clouds was easy!   I used foam tape to adhere the clouds onto my card in the cut out areas of the Lagoon cardstock. To make my card a little more festive, I added strips of the Teal Shimmer Trim (included in the Cloud Nine kit) and clear sparkles. Clean and ...

Each month, Close To My Heart provides a fun download that you can use to create something with. I always look forward to the 1st of each month and can't wait to see what little goodie is waiting for me to download.   This month it is a sheet full of colorful tags!  You can either print them out for some VERY QUICK and easy tags for your gifts, or you can use them in other ways.  I decided to use them on some quick cards I wanted to create. Here are a couple of cards I created using one of these tags I used Sky and Cranberry Cardstock for this card.  Look closely and you can see where I used tone on tone stamping with snowflakes on the Cranberry cardstock.   I added a sparkle flourish and red bow (retired cranberry ribbon and I was done!  I used Sketch #270 from Clean and Simple Stamping for this card.   This one was very quick! Clean and Simple #270 My next card actually took a bit longer because I wanted to incorporate differen...

Another November Birthday Card!

Image
I've had several Birthday cards to make this month.   November is filled with Birthday's for me so in the middle of my Christmas card creations I need to stop every so often and create a birthday card.   So, birthday card #3 in the month of November goes to my dear hubby!   It's simple yet sort of rugged with no frills which reminds me of my husband! I used the sketch from Clean & Simple stamping for my pattern and the inspiration photo from The Inspired Challenges.  I sanded the Outdoor Denim cardstock to resemble the faded jeans in the photo.  The pattern piece of paper is from the Tommy paper pack. Recipe - 5 x 7 card White Daisy Cardstock (1385) Outdoor Denim Cardstock (1275) Tommy Paper pack (X7169B) * Woodgrain Washi from Party Washi 3 pack (Z1908)** Cork Color Ready Alphabet (retired) Keyboard Kraft Alphabet (Z1825) Natural Hemp (Z280) * *These items will retire at January 31, 2014.  Go to RETIRING ITEMS to see AL...

Santa Claus is Coming To Town!

Image
I know!  Today is Halloween but that just means Christmas is around the corner right? At least that's what Walmart is saying.  I stopped there on Tuesday to grab some Halloween Candy and it had already been moved from the seasonal aisle and replaced by Christmas goodies!   I did find some Halloween treats through although it was already picked over.   An now.... trick or treating may be postponed to Friday due to some strong winds and storms headed our way and expected to hit at the Trick or Treat hours! I usually start making Christmas cards early though and I have already posted a few here on my blog!  Here is another card I wanted to share with my new favorite Christmas stamp from Close To My Heart's Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide - Santa Claus (C1567).  I'm a sucker for anything Santa so no surprise that this one is a favorite. I used the sketch from Clean & Simple #264 turning it horizontal.  I stamped Santa in Ruby ink and...

You Make Me Smile

Image
Wow.... It's been a really busy week!  I had three of my monthly club meetings all this past week and in the middle of that, I've made a 6x6 book for a friend who is retiring (will share that soon), and I've been getting ready for convention - which means I needed to create a roomie gift too!   Our annual Close To My Heart Convention is next week and I've had a mile long list of things to do.   I'm slowly checking them off.   So, that has left little time for some plain ol' crafty fun. I did manage to squeeze some in this evening.   If you keep up with me, you know that no matter how busy I am, I still love to check in on my favorite challenge blogs.   Sometimes it helps to take a small break from 'busy' and do something fun.  That is exactly what I did tonight.  While my hubby was out watering the shrubs I took advantage of a little bit of time and threw together this card. The flower and sentiment are from the Hooray Bouquet (D1491). ...

Wonderful Fabulous You

Image
I think I'm getting my mojo back after missing out of an entire week of creating.  Tonight I created this card while watching the season premiere of Mad Men.  Being born in the 60's (I won't tell you which year), I've always been fascinated with that era.  I love seeing the fashion trends of that time.  One time, a long time ago, I remember thinking I'd like to be in the world of advertising.  I guess that is another reason the show fascinates me. So - here is my Mad Men premiere card..... The stamp is from Fabulous You (C1533) .  I used the other bird stamp from this set recently for a Birthday card for my mom.  You can see it HERE .   I stamped the image and sentiment in cocoa ink and used our new Alcohol markers to color the bird and flowers.  The crochet flower and button are from the Antiqued Gold Mini Medley (Z1786). I used Sketch #235 from Clean and Simple Stamping for this card.       ...

No Fear for Clean and Simple

Image
Clean and Simple cards are actually a little difficult for me!  I have to really hold myself back from adding lots of embellishments.  I try though.... maybe one of these days I'll get the CLEAN and SIMPLE part down.    Here is my attempt today: Today's Heart 2 Heart Challenge is create a Clean and Simple Card, while over at CAS-ual Friday their challenge was to add a little bit of silver to a clean and simple card.  So, I thought I'd might as well use the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping and create something for all three! For this card I used a bit of paper from the Later Sk8r (X7167B) paper pack and some silver paper from the Black and Grey Glitter Paper (Z1829) .  I used the Artiste Cricut cartridge to cut a couple gears in the silver paper.  I have to say, this glitter paper cuts like butter on my cricut! And, I really like that it doesn't leave glitter everywhere!  The background stamp and "No Fear" is from the stamp ...

Sneak Peek at Tommy

Image
Finally!  A sneak peek at the 7th new paper pack coming February 1!  I was waiting for just the right sketch and found one on Clean and Simple Stamping!  This 7th paper pack is Tommy (X7169B) .  It has a nautical theme with colors of Cranberry, Outdoor Denim, Honey and Desert Sand.  There are so many possibilities with this paper. Here is my card which shows four of the patters offered in this paper pack. The banners were created with the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge:  <Banner2>, <Banner3> and <Banner4>.  I cross-stitched each banner to the side bar with Cranberry Bakers Twine from the Harvest Assortment (Z1751) .  My sentiment and the pennant border are stamps from the Tommy Workshop on the Go exclusive stamp.  This stamp is only available with the Tommy WOTG kit (G1058) .   I added sparkles from the Clear Sparkles Assortment (Z1752) . Here is the Clean and Simple Stamping sketch I used for my car...
