April's Artfully Sent Class - Graduation Cards

Image
Just in time for all the High School and College graduations that are just around the corner!  My next Artfully Sent class is all about Graduation Cards! In this class we will create these three cards: The first is a sentiment card.  I added some color using the Glitter paper from the Teal Glitter Paper collection. The 2nd card we will create is a swing card!  I added star paper from the Chalk It Up paper pack to help bring out the celebration!  I kept the card pretty simple but add some free-handed lines around the card with a journaling pen to give it a finished look. The last card is a pop-up card! If you are local to me and have the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge and your own Cricut Machine you can sign up for this class!   The class fee is just $10 and you get all the materials you will need to make the cards - including envelopes!  You just need to bring your Artfully Sent Cartridge and Cricut Machine and other basis supplie...

What a busy time of the year it is for me!  Graduation is coming up soon - May 18 to be exact.  Plus, in the midst of getting ready for that, we are in the middle of the High School District Softball tournament!  Rain came in Friday night and set in for the weekend so the games were cancelled on Saturday.  My first thought was "YEAH!  I'll spend all day Saturday in my scrap room and create! Nothing better to do on a rainy day!".  Or so I thought....  I ended up spending ALL DAY Saturday shopping with my daughter looking for the required "dark dress" that she needed to wear underneath her graduation gown.  So, we set out about 10:30 to look for a black dress.  Finding a black dress (or even a dark color dress) in May is not easy!   Most that we did find, looked better on the hanger than actually on!  Too long, too short, etc.  FINALLY about 3:30 that afternoon we found the dress.  By the time I got home, I was no longer in ...

Deconstructing New Horizons

Image
I almost forgot about this card I created the other night. I was looking through challenges this morning on the hunt for some inspiration and I came across the Deconstructed Sketch blog. The sketch was posted on Thursday and when I saw it, I thought it would be perfect for the our new Tommy paper.   It was about 9 pm when I finally got around to creating the idea I had in my head all day! Here is the sketch:                                      And my interpretation: This card could be used for someone graduating, moving, starting a new job or even someone retiring!  It was very fast and easy to create - no stamping at all on this card!  The sentiment "New Horizons" is from the zip strip from one of the B&T papers in the Tommy paper pack. RECIPE: Tommy Paper Pack (X7169B) Natural Hemp (Z280) Chevron Ribbon (Z1808) Red Buttons (from retired Holiday...

A Graduation Card

Image
Time for Graduation!!  Last week our local university held their graduation and today over 6 area High Schools held their graduations!  Here is a graduation card I made using the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping Blog .  I turned the sketch and made a horizontal card. I don't have any specific graduation stamps so I improvised with a set that I thought would be perfect for a graduation card!  The sentiment, "imagine the possibilities" is fom the upcoming June Stamp of the Month.  I used a background stamp from a past Stamp of the Month, "You Are", to create the lines accross the cranberry cardstock.  I created a graduation cap using a square tag and a big brad from the Pacifica Mini Medley Collection (Z1698).  The gold tassel is embroidery floss.  I covered the Dimensional Element Numbers with Cranberry Carstock. I am entering this card into 4 Crafty Chicks Challenge .   Their challenge is to ...
