What a busy and productive weekend I had!!  14 friends and I all spent the weekend at the Petticoat Junction Retreat in Normandy, Tennessee scrapping all day and into the wee hours of early morning. I look forward to this every year and this time the timing was just right. I had LOTS of new product to work on and with an upcoming Open House ahead I had plenty to keep me busy the entire time. Valentines day is just around the corner.  Yesterday I made my first Valentines card!  This was a quick one with help of my cricut!   I used sketch #98 from Retro Sketches for this card for this Friday Mashup Challenge Card. I stamped the background with a stamp from last year's special, Whoo's Your Valentine with Juniper Ink .  The arrow and hearts were cut using the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.   Friday Mashup #143 Create a project using the Colors  "Coastal Cabana, Real Red & Crumb Cake." I've been super busy this last week as I'm sure you all are too.   I wanted to make a quick card using the sketch from Retro Sketch before it was too late!  So here is my really quick card I created with mostly washi tape! Today is my Mother In Law's Birthday.  I think the colors in this card are perfect for a November birthday.  As I was creating this card I thought about how Shelbie was really the one that started me on my road to creativity.   I kept a 'primitive' scrapbook in High School back in the 80's.  It was really before scrapbooking was popular - my album was from a Hallmark store!  After I got married and by the time my first daughter came along, Shelbie was trying her hand at about every kind of craft that was out there. She encouraged me to start a scrapbook for Kirsti.  I remember cringing the first time I cut a picture with those decorative scissors.  Remember those? wow....  Shelbie usually had the 1st of whatever new innovative product came on the market.  She convinced my husband that I needed a cricut.  Thank goodness she did, now I don't know what I would do without one!  She always created the most beautiful cards and mini al...

It's been a BUSY week and I'm just now getting around to posting this Birthday Card I created using sketch from Retro Sketches.    I actually made the card on Monday night but I haven't had time to post and here we are one day away from the deadline. It was my Boss's birthday on Wednesday and when everyone around knows you love to make cards, they call upon you to create a card for the Boss!   That's ok - they know I love it and I'm really honored that I'm asked.  I guess if they didn't like what I create they wouldn't ask me.  :)  Plus, it's alot more fun to create when I'm doing it for a particular person!   I saw the sketch over at Retro Sketches on Saturday and knew it was one I wanted to try out. So when I was asked to make a Birthday Card I knew exactly which sketch I would use! I used the Babycakes paper for this card - something about polka dots makes me think "Birthday". I did manage to get in a quick card for a challenge today.   I used the sketch from Retro Sketches #65 and a stamp set that I've had for a while but hadn't used yet. I stamped a 4 x 3 1/2 piece of White Daisy Cardstock with the pennant stamps from Patterned Pennents (D1534) .   I loved this stamp and couldn't wait to order it but once I did, I just couldn't seem to get around to using it!  So I was excited to use it today.  I used Sunset, Buttercup and Cotton Candy inks.   I stamped the first pennant with the left edge of the stamp at the center of my piece of cardstock which made it easier to stamp the other pennants.   Next I cut off the bottom at 1".  I cut another 1" and discarded that piece leaving the top to measure 3".    My accents are retired mini medley medallions with Pink Glitter Gems in the center (X1807).  As you can see, I'm still using cardstock from the Dream Pop paper pack!  This pack will only be ...

It's been a REALLY long time since I've created a baby card. When I saw the challenge on The Paper Players to create a baby card with buttons and bows I thought it sounded fun!  I have the new Chantilly textiles and have been anxious to do something with one of the fabrics.  So, I pulled out the Buttercup pattern paper from the Chantilly paper pack and the pear print fabric from the textiles.
