Little Monster Shares an "I Love You"

Image
The other night when I was creating some easy Valentine Cards with the stamp set "Love Ya Silly" I kept looking at the one little monster I had stamped.  I kept picturing him holding something and suddenly a light bulb went off! There was still one little stamp I had not used and it was perfect! So I quickly put together this 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 card.  I stamped the "I heart you" and cut it out.  After stamping the little monster, I added the heart to an adhesive springs to give it some bounce and attached it to the little guys hand.   I think it turned out quite cute.  :) Products Used: White Daisy Cardstock - 1385 Cranberry Cardstock - 1272 Lagoon Cardstock - X5762 Lagoon Exclusive Ink - Z2195 Love Ya Silly - B1470 Red Shimmer Trim - Z1848 Lagoon Hearts Washi Tape - Z2004 Stuck on You Puffies - Z3037 Black and Grey Epoxy Bubbles - Z1935 Adhesive Springs - Z1725

Love Ya Silly - Simple Valentines

Image
Do you usually create valentine cards for your children's school party?   Here is a really quick, simple and inexpensive idea!   With this adorable Love Ya Silly stamp set and 4 sheets of cardstock, some scraps and embellishments you have on hand, you can create 18 VERY EASY Valentine cards in less than an hour! These are just flat 4 x 4 cards.  They do not open - just like most of the Valentine Cards you purchase for school parties.  I cut my Black 12x12 cardstock into 4x4 squares.  Then I cut the White Daisy Cardstock into 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 squares.   I used my embossing tool to score 1/4" around the edge of the White Daisy piece to give it a little added dimension.   Next, I stamped the cute little monsters and the sentiment onto the White Daisy piece and added various embellishments.  SIMPLE!!   How quick was that??!  And they are sooo cute! I used Pear, Lagoon and Sunset inks to get away from the traditional pink and red! ...

More Quick and Easy Valentine Cards!

Image
Happy Friday!  It's a cold, dreary rainy day here in Middle Tennessee.   The kind of day that makes you want to snuggle up on the couch under a warm blanket and watch a good movie.  I had to work today so maybe I'll get to do the snuggle thing tonight. I wanted to take a moment and share some more quick Valentine Cards that I made.   I used the stamp set that is included in the Heartstrings Cardmaking Workshop on the Go kit for these little 3x3 cards.   I added the Stuck On You Puffies and my other favorite - Shimmer Trim! The Heartstrings WOTG kit (G1090) includes a D-size stamp, Pixie Extra Thick Twine, Stuck on You Puffies, 4 sheets of cardstock and one sheet of Heartstrings B&T paper, 15 White Cards and Envelopes and an instruction guide to make 15 cards (shown on the instruction guide below). I purchased the kit mainly because I liked the stamp set and it is ONLY Available with kit!  Getting the puffies, cards and env...

Brushstrokes Valentine

Image
I was hoping to get alot of crafty things done over the long weekend but alas, I didn't make it into my craft room until about 8pm last night!  We spent the majority of the weekend in Kentucky packing some things to prepare for my MIL's mom to Tennessee.  It has been a long process and we still have a long way to go!  We left Kentucky before noon yesterday so got home at a decent time after unloading the things we brought back.  I was excited to find a little bit of creative time before heading back to another work week! I have been wanting to use this new Brushstrokes stampset for some time now but it seemed like there was always something else I needed to do first!  I also used one of our little mini's - Mini Valentine . I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch! for my card.  I love the way it turned out!   I used Hollyhock and Pixie inks for my pinks.  I also incorporated two of my favorite new products - Pixie Extra Thick Twine a...

January Stamp of the Month - This Moment

Image
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring This Moment , a set of 12 fun stamps. If you have come here from Teresa Scriven's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . I created a card for my next Technique Tuesday class using this set using one of our new embossing the folders - Heart (Z3018) and a fun technqiue called Inked Embossing. I felt like my card had too much 'white space' even with the inked embossed hearts so I stamped a black arrow in between the embossed hearts.  Another technique I used on this card is the masking technique.  I tried stamping the sentiment on top of the multiple circles but I didn't like the way it looked.  That is where the masking came in.   I used the technique on the sentiment so that the lines of the circle...

Pink Glitter Hearts.....

Image
Happy Valentines Day! I don't make alot of Valentine cards but I have some new Pink Glitter paper from Close To My Heart that I thought would make a pretty Valentines Card!   Oh yeah and have I mentioned my new embossing folders?   You bet!  I had to incorporate that into my card too! Freshly Made Sketches had the perfect sketch! The Pink Glitter paper comes in 3 different shades of pink.  I used two of them here.  I cut the hearts on my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge at 1" and 3/4".  I stamped the sentiment in Slate Ink. The sentiment is from the Valentine's themed stamp that was our National Papercrafting Month Special in 2013.  It's a cute little stamp and I just had to hang onto it!    The twine is from the Ruby Mini Medley Accent collection.  I love the silver thread that runs through it! Here are the Close To My Heart Products I used: Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge - Z1686 I'm entering this c...

Valentine Card with Heart Opening

Image
In the midst of getting all my new product, I had an idea for a Valentine card that was inspired by a challenge on the Moxie Fab World blog - create a card with a window (Challenge #60).  I've had this heart shaped LOVE  stamp for a while that I have never used.  For the last two weeks, I've been pulling it out of my stamp box trying to come up with a unique way to use it.  When I saw Cath's challenge to create a card with a window, I knew exactly how I would create my card.  I used my cricut to cut the card (7x5) and with the gypsy I was able to place and then cut my heart shaped window right where I wanted it.  I cut the opening 1/4" larger than my stamped heart shape.   My paper is from the Pear & Partridge paper pack (a Christmas paper!) but I love this print and think it has a romantic feel to it.   To make it even more romantic, I added the Colonial White Rosette Ribbon around the edge of the opening and then added little pear...

Love You Lots Valentine Card

Image
Here is a softer version of  Whooo's Your Valentine stamp.  I used the Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch #222  for this card.  I tried to keep it simple (sometimes a hard thing for me!).  I kept mostly to white cardstock with blush and a hint of sparkle. This card has a silver lining!  Well, actually I used Close To My Heart's silver Metallic Marker (Z1768)  around the edge of the piece of cardstock to give it a 'layered' look.  The glittery scallop edge is from the Silver Glitter paper that was included in the Whooo's Your Valentine Kit.  (LOVE THIS STUFF!). I used my corner rounder (sans guard) to make the scallop.     Recipe: White Daisy & Blush Cardstock Silver Glitter Paper (coming in Spring!) Whooo's You Valentine Stamp (While Supplies Last!) Baker's Twine - Neutral Assortment (Z1701) Metallic Markers (Z1768) Blush Exclusive Ink (Z2106)  Slate Exclusive Ink (Z2173) Clean & Simple Stamp...

Hootin' Owl - Whooo's Your Valentine!

Image
I don't think I've EVER made so many valentine cards lately.  But this Whooo's Your Valentine Stamp is just the cutest!!  It is the exclusive stamp that you can only get in the Whooo's Your Valentine Kit from Close To My Heart! I'll share my card and then I tell you how to get this stamp set before they are all gone!   I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this card.   The chevron and little heart stamp are great for stamping a pattern on my paper.  I had no problem lining them up evenly with my clear blocks.  I used Hollyhock cardstock and Silver Glitter paper that were included in my kit for the card.  The Silver Glitter paper is one of the new products for Spring and Summer!  I can't wait to get more!  The Glitter Pack will come in 2 different shade packs - Black & Grey or Brown & Tan.  I finished the card with a little bling using sparkles from the Black & Grey Sparkle Collection. I keep up wi...

Love You to Pieces - A Valentine Card

Image
This weeks challenge over at Heart 2 Heart   is to use a stamp you haven't used before or at least in a long time.  I've got several of those.  (!)  I've been wanting to make a Valentine card so I thumbed through my stamps looking for one that would work.  I don't use many of my Valentine stamps.  I pulled out my Feburary Word Puzzle stamp set. Remember those? I LOVED those word puzzle stamps!  There was a Word Puzzle stamp for every month.  I bought each month before they retired. I've got several months I've never used but keeping thinking someday I'll use them. So I'll probably always keep these stamps in my stash.  My February Word puzzle had hardly been used at all.   So this one will qualify for H2H.   Since I seemed to be in a 'retired' mode, I decided to use my retired Sweetheart paper.   This paper was in the 2011 Spring Summer Idea book.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday to create my card. ...

My Inspiration For Color Throwdown

Image
I have a list of Challenge Blogs that I check first thing each morning. Usually I check them before I leave for work. Then, I can think about them through out the day and sometimes, by the time I get home from work I'm ready to start on something.  Color Throwdown is on my list for Wednesday. When I saw the colors this morning - Black, Cranberry and Grey Wool (CTMH colors) I wasn't too inspired.                                                              After lunch I decided I had better start a list for things I needed to get at 'Wally World'.  I reached up to grab a sheet from my new notepad a co-worker gave me at Christmas.  OH WOW!  I was suddenly inspired!  Below is my list.  BTW, I decided the list wasn't long enough to warrant a trip to the Walmart - so I put it off.  Besides, I now had b...
