Mixing Fundamental Papers

Image
Today is my youngest daughter's birthday so of course I created her birthday card!   I wanted to use a mix of fundamentals so chose papers from Whimsy and Basics papers.  I based my card design off a design I found on Pinterest created by Denise Tarlington.  It's really a simple design which made the card very easy!  I used the Thistle and Crystal Blue papers from Whismy and Charcoal designs from Basics.  Basic papers really do go with ANY of our paper packs.  It's my favorite pack out of the four (Whimsy, Adventure, Enchantment and Basics).  I cut a few succulents, my daughter's favorite, from our Flower Market Cricut cartrigde.  I used the lighter tone of Thistle for the base and Charcoal cardstock for the outline.   Since this is a BIRTHDAY card of course I had to add sparkle so I used our Clear Shimmer pen on the succulents.  I can't believe that my camera actually picked up the sparkles!   I kn...

In this layout above, there are 3 different Funda...

Springtime Wishes

Image
Have you ever created a layout and later (like DAYS later) changed it?  Well I did.  This was one of the first layouts I put together when I received my 1st order from the new Seasonal Expressions 1 book.  Instead of using White Daisy for my base pages, I used Juniper.  After I finished the layout I had it laying out on a table to photograph the next chance I had. Every time I walked past the layout it bothered me.  I kept thinking that something about it was just not right.  I couldn't quite put my finger on it.  Then I had one of those 'shower' moments. You know - the best ideas come to me when I have hot water pouring down on my brain. haha..... Anyway I quickly (and carefully) pulled everything off those Juniper base pages and reattached to White Daisy.  Suddenly I felt that all was RIGHT in my scrappin' world.  I did add some strips of Juniper to add a bit more splash of color. This layout uses the Springtime Compliments that are in th...

Twins Rule with Springtime Wishes

Image
I had so much fun creating this layout of my twin great-nieces with two new products in our Seasonal Expressions catalog - Springtime Compliments and the Twins Rule stamp.    The Springtime Compliments coordinate with the Whimsy Fundamental papers and include 2 sheets of stickers and white chip-board die-cuts - some with gold foil! I really like the gold foil die-cuts so using gold embossing for stamping was just a given!  I used my Shin-Han markers to color the images to match my papers.  Here are some close ups of the clusters I created with the stamps and die-cuts.   To finish the layouts I added a few of our new Gold Glitter Gems. These girls were so tiny then!! This one is my favorite clusters!  I love the sentiments on this stamp set.  I stamped this sentiment on one of the plain white die-cuts and then heat embossed it in gold.   Twins Rule - C1675 Stay tuned!  I've got another layout to share of these sweet ...
