My new products bundles weren't scheduled to arrive until Tuesday and I couldn't wait use this adorable stamp!  Since I was being so impatient, I decided to use one of my new 6x6 Kraft cards that I brought home from convention with me.

Here is my card:

The little black photo clip hold the flap closed.  But be careful when you open it..... there is Black Cat lurking from behind!

Here is a little closer up - you can see how I popped up the witch and the title.

As an added bonus.... I made a quick little 3x3 card using the witch's hat from the stamp set.

Close To My Heart has made our Stamp of the Month even more afforadable! Spend a minimum of $50 and you can purchase this EXCLUSIVE stamp for only $5!

What a great deal!  TWO fabulous stamps!

Play Date Cafe - Splash of Color

Challenge #2 for me this week!   I went to the Play Date Cafe today to see what I'd been missing!  Their challenge was to use BLACK & WHITE with a Splash of color!    I've been working with my August Stamp of the Month so I just added another card to use for the Play Date Cafe Challenge.   This card could be a congratulatory card - which means you don't have to use this set ONLY for Halloween!  Since I was already using the color Sunset I used that as my Splash of color!

Here is my card!

I used the 'honeycomb' stamp to stamp directly on the card with black ink.   Then I stamped on another piece of cardstock with Sunset ink.  I cut out each honeycomb and used 3D foam tape to pop it up off the black honeycomb.

This stamp is called "Wicked" and it is "wickedly cute"!   It will be available August 1st.   Come back to my blog on August 1 to see more artwork with this stamp set!

Back to Challenges!

It has been a LONG time since I've done any challenges.  I was anxious to get back to them but I really wanted some of my new products to use.  I needed to make a wedding card and didn't have time to wait for new product so I headed to my existing stuff to see what I had.   Well nothing could be more perfect than Bliss!   First challenge for me this week - Pals Paper Arts.    This week it is a design sketch and that was exactly what I needed to get me started on my wedding card.

Here is the sketch:

And my card!

I used Bliss Paper (X7132) with the Irresistables Villa Chipboard Die-Cuts (Z1390).  Both of these products will retire July 31 so order this week if you want to get them before they are gone!

I LOVE the Irresistables!   The are so easy to add color and the resist part 'shines' through.  I used Sorbet ink for my splash of color.  I used Bamboo ink on the key to give it a 'gold' look.   The ribbon is from the Mistletoe Creative Basics pack (X5807).  (You can get this Creative Basics pack for only $1 when you spend $50 on my website!  What a deal!)

Hope you enjoyed my card!

Last Week of Spring/Summer!

Today is the last week for the 2011 Spring/Summer Idea Book!  I'm excited about all the new products coming next week but if there was something you wanted from the Spring/Summer Book - get it before it's gone!   (You will still be able to order all the stamps from this book through January 31)

So.... what is going away at the end of the week?

These four papers in Level 1, Level 2 and Workshop kits:  Bliss, Sweetheart, Miracle and Wings.
Also these Level 1 and Level 2 paper kits: Olivia, Magnifique, Mistletoe and Hooligans.   (I have pictures of these on a previous post.  Click HERE to see)

Also these Mini Medley Accents Colors:
Lagoon (Z1340)       Outdoor Denim (Z1277)        Pear (Z1339)

Some of the My Acrylix Blocks are retiring also.  A couple of them are some of my MOST used blocks!  I don't like using a big block with a small stamp so it is nice to have blocks that are very close to stamp size.

These sizes are retiring:
Y1001    1 x 1 1/2
Y1005    1 x 6 1/2
Y1007    2 x 11
Y1004    2 1/2 x 2 1/2
Y1008    4 x 4
Y1011    4 1/2 x 6 1/2

If you already have all the blocks and you don't have the block organizer, you'll want to get that before July 31st also.  It will be retired.  I'm sure they will come out with a smaller organizer to accommodate the reduced number of blocks we will now be carrying but if you have many of the retiring blocks you will want this organizer.   (Item #Z185)

Also, if you want to purchase COMBO SETS of markers or ink colors (sets of 6) you will need to do so before August 1!   After that date, the markers and pads will not be sold in combo sets.

Be sure to stock up on your favorite cardstock colors at the low price of $9.95!

This is the last week to take advantage of our More Bang for Your Buck!

Convention 2011 Wrap Up!

Well what can I say?  It was AWESOME but I wouldn't expect anything less from Close To My Heart.  I had a blast and they literally BLEW me away with all the new products.   I can't stop looking at my new Idea Book!

These are my wonderful roomies!   Jackie Gay (Alabama), Me, Rae Bangs (Washington) and Sharon Ivanaukas (New Jersey).    Aren't those the cutest Minnie Mouse ears?

On Friday, We created a layout with the new Roxie paper.  (This one may be my favorites)

We used the new Bling Assortment that has large and small buttons along with pins.  Also - check out the new 10 Things Pocket.  It has numbered strips for journaling.  The stamp set we used is called 10 Things!

On Saturday at our Gadgets & Gizmos class we created this cute little My Creations chipboard Memory Game.  Inside it has 24 3x3 chipboard squares.   This little box has ALL KINDS of potential!  I'm currently planning an Advent Calendar Workshop for it.

Many of these pieces were cut with our new Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. Then we used the stamps from the set Blue Ribbon to stamp on the pre-cut pieces.   PERFECT FIT! There are 5 images from the Blue Ribbon stamp that are on the Art Philosophy Cricut.
We also used the new Pin Clips (sticking out from the star).  The paper on this box is from our new pack - Elemental.  A kit that will intermix with many of the other kits in the Idea Book!

At the Awards Banquet on Friday night we had a very special stampset waiting for us.  This was an exclusive for convention goers.
At the Saturday night crop, we used this set to create this adorable little convention book made using 3 cards from the new Kraft Die-Cut Cards and Envelope set.

Here are the pages from this book.  (I just need to add my pictures!)  We used the new Decor Journaling Spots and Color Ready Alphabet Cork!  I used the cocoa marker to color the cork a darker color.    How fun!

With convention about to wrap up, it would not have been complete if last year's spa winners didn't have a reunion lunch!   Seven of the nine spa winners met for lunch in Downtown Disney for a relaxing time of reminiscing about how lucky and blessed we all are to have met.   I'll cherish those memories forever.   So glad I got to spend time with them at convention!    (Jamie & Lori - we missed you!)

Until next year!!!   See you again in Dallas.  I'm looking forward to it!

All the above projects were created with new products available August 1 in the new Close To My Heart 2011 Autumn/Winter Idea book.

So What Was That BIG Announcement?

Yes - It WAS big!   And the more I learned about it at Extravaganza, the more I got excited!!
So what was it?   We have a Close To My Heart Cricut cartridge!  Oh it is not just another cartridge!  It is THE cartridge of all Cartridges!!   How can this be you say?

Can you think of another exclusively designed Cricut Cartridge that has over 700 images!  It has 100 very specific individual shapes.  It has 50 labels, 50 tags, 6 rolled flowers designs, 17 different borders, 8 flourishes, 8 boxes, bags, door hangers, 2 envelope shapes - rectangle and square AND a new exclusive Serif style font - upper & lower plus a decorative layer!   WHEW!  That takes my breath away ..... but wait that is not ALL!

This new Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge was designed especially for our stamps!  There are numerous images in the new Idea Book that were designed to work with this cartridge!   Included with your new Art Philosophy Cartridge is THREE D-size stamp sets!  PLUS THREE new dimensional elements that work with the cartridge also!

The creativity with this cartridge is ENDLESS!   It is a must have on my list.  I'm sure it will be on yours too!

Convention 2011 - Day 1

What a day it has been!  The morning started out with a team picture of the Scattered Hearts Unit (will post that when it is available).    Then we all gathered outside the convention room doors anxiously awaiting for them to open.   It is almost like Christmas Day waiting until the parents get up and you can start opening your presents!

The doors finally open.....  and it is magical!   The stage has been transformed into a fairy tale.

Cinderella and her prince danced for us.....

Jeanette introduced Close To My Heart's new Mission Statement:

We show you how to celebrate relationships
through discovering your creativity,
to preserve and share the moments
that matter most.

This encompasses all aspects of preservation no matter how you do it - whether it is classical scrapbooking or using our Studio J program.    Times are changing and Close To My Heart is embracing the change in every way.    AWESOME!

Next, 2 fairies and a elf came out to share some news that we were waiting to hear.   The air was electric with anticipation.

New products were introduced Disney style.    Some of the big announcements.... decrease in prices in our stamp sets!  Also now our B&T papers are printed on cardstock weight papers - each side is different - similar to what we saw in the most recent You & Me kits.   Our Level 2 kits are reduced in quantity of paper (6 B&T - still have 6 different designs and 6 sheets of cardstock).   Low price of $9.95.    Goes with our new motto - CONSUME it, don't Collect it!   Now our customers won't be stocking up on paper that they wonder if they will ever use it all!

There is more - but I'll save some of the news for another post.

After General Session, we were given a VERY CUTE tote and the new Idea Book.   Then we headed to Extravaganza.   This is where we got to see new products and learned different ways to use them.    I saw some AMAZING artwork today.   Close To My Heart has many talented artists and consultants.   We attended 7 different classes (20 minutes each).   At the end of each class we received a new product.
The cute bag is covered up by all of my new products!
We wrapped up Extravaganza around 4:30 this afternoon.  After a quick freshening up back in our room, my roomies and I headed to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping and then got a bite to eat.  After dinner, we shopped some more and headed back to hotel.    It's been a LONG day so I'm signing off for now.
More classes tomorrow and our Create & Takes!

Disneyland Day 1 -Leadership

Yesterday was a great day!   It was my first time to attend Leadership so wasn't sure what to expect except I knew I'd be inspired to work my business more.  Jeanette Lynton, CEO and Founder of Close To My Heart came out and greeted everyone.   She is an awesome lady.   She introduced Brian Holman, VP of Finance and COO.  Brian had many great things to say of Jeanette.  He said,  "Jeanette is an Innovator NOT an Imitator".   So true!    I'm sure we will see evidence of that today.  Brian said this will be the most exciting convention since the announcement of the My Acrylix Stamps.   That is HUGE!

We got our Create & Take kits which had a 'hint' of things to come.  The kit included everything needed to make 8 3x3 cards.   Each card had a piece of one of the new papers. We also got a bag of embellishments for the cards and there were 3 new types of embellishments.

Looks like corrugated stars, printed butterflies and Sparkle buttons!  Here are the cards:

We had a wonderful buffet lunch and then 2 more sessions of classes.   It was a great day of inspiration.  After Leadership we had about an hour break before our Team meeting with the Scattered Hearts Unit under Tina Sutton.

The theme for Tina's unit meeting was "Princesses".  You could dress up as your favorite princess to try to win a free Twilight Pass to Disneyland.   (No.... I didn't dress up. I wanted to save room in my suitcase for all the goodies I was going to bring home from convention!)   But there were several that did dress up!

Tina Sutton - Queen of Hearts (She wasn't able to order the Princess costume she wanted!)
Winner Mary Merriweather -  A perfect Cinderella Fairy
Pin Trading is HUGE at Disneyland.   We each got a cute Scattered Hearts pin at the beginning of the meeting.   Then Tina recognized many consultants for their achievements with more cute little pins!  I was lucky enough to get 4.   I won't be trading any of these pins!
Top Left to Right:
Scattered Hearts Team Pin
5 Year Pin - I celebrated 5 years with CTMH in February 2006
Cruise Tracking - I'm on track to win the Hawaii Cruise!
Bottom Row - Left to Right
Top Sales - # 6 in Sales in the Scattered Hearts Units (over 1,000 consultants)
Manager - Promoted to Manager in May.

I also received a very pretty necklace that holds my little CTMH scissors from my upline Chris Sczechowski for being #1 in Sales in her Scrappin' Sisterhood unit. (I need to get a picture of that!)

So much fun so far!   I'll have more to post after all the announcements today so be sure to check back!

2 Days til Disneyland!

I have returned home from Hot and Humid Chattanooga. And guess what?! It's HOT & HUMID here too!  So, it's a good day to gather together my supplies for convention. (I pulled out my clothes last week and have them pressed and stacked ready to put in my suitcase).

Close to My Heart sent us a supply list a few weeks ago.  These are things that we will need when we do our Create & Takes. This is so much fun.  At Extravaganza on Thursday we will gets lots of new products and we'll be using them in our Create & Takes. So today I have been going through my supply list and checking off my items one by one.  I thought it would be fun to show you which supplies I'm bringing for each day.   Get your imagination going and start wondering what we'll be doing!

Wednesday's list is for Leadership Day.   The combination of ink pads I'm required to bring is a bit odd.   I wonder if certain colors will be used for one project and other colors for a different project.  I just stacked them up randomly here.   Would LOVE to hear your thoughts on what will go together!

Here is Wednesday Supply List:
Ink Pad Colors:
Vineyard Berry
Sweet Leaf
Desert Sand

I'm also bringing: 3D Foam Tape, Sponge, Mini Glue Dots, Bone Folder, Piercing Tool and Micro Tip Scissors.

Friday's Supplies:
Ink Pad Colors:
Desert Sand
Marker Colors:
Vanilla Cream

I will also bring 3D Foam Tape, Sponge, Micro Tip Scissors and the Texture Tools.

Saturday Supplies:
Ink Pad Colors:
Desert Sand
Marker: Desert Sand

Also bringing Micro Tip Scissors, 3D Foam Tape, Sponge Piercing Tool.

Of course I'm bringing Spritz Cleaner and Cleaning Pad each day along with My Acrylix Blocks (1x1, 1x1 1/2, 2x2, 2x3 1/2, 4x4) and adhesive.

OK..... got to get these in my suitcase now!   And make a Walmart run for some last minute trip items.   Check back tomorrow!
