April Stamp of the Month - Typed Note

Image
Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Typed Note, a set of 19 stamps including a vintage typewriter. If you have come here from Nancy Womersley's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . I had a little fun with this set.  The vintage theme called for some Paper Fundamentals in Enchantment colors.   This card has a secret hidden message.  Can you guess where? After stamping my typewriter I cut a slit at the top and created another 'hidden' message behind the first.   You can see the message by pulling the tab!  The tab is a clip from the My Crush Wildwood Clips.  I used a glue dot to make it permanent so that it would not pull away. Pull the tab and find out what the "NEWS" is! I will be teac

More Blossoms

I'm still playing with my Blossom Cardmaking WOTG kit.  The papers are so pretty!!  This time I used another new stamp - Wavy Blooms (D1651) with the leftover papers that I have. I stamped the images with Versa Mark ink and embossed them in white.  I used my ShinHan Touch Twin markers to color the flowers.  The sentiment is from the stamp set that is included with the kit. I added our new washi tape - a strip of Glacier and Pear from the new washi pack - Boardwalk .  New white sequins from the Coral Reef Sequins add a finished look to the card. All of these new products will be available on April 1! I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my card design.

April's Artfully Sent Class - Graduation Cards

Image
Just in time for all the High School and College graduations that are just around the corner!  My next Artfully Sent class is all about Graduation Cards! In this class we will create these three cards: The first is a sentiment card.  I added some color using the Glitter paper from the Teal Glitter Paper collection. The 2nd card we will create is a swing card!  I added star paper from the Chalk It Up paper pack to help bring out the celebration!  I kept the card pretty simple but add some free-handed lines around the card with a journaling pen to give it a finished look. The last card is a pop-up card! If you are local to me and have the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge and your own Cricut Machine you can sign up for this class!   The class fee is just $10 and you get all the materials you will need to make the cards - including envelopes!  You just need to bring your Artfully Sent Cartridge and Cricut Machine and other basis supplies! Two date choices!

Greetings with Jackson

WOW.... what a beautiful day we are having here in Middle Tennessee today.  But alas, it will not last.  While today's temp will reach mid 70's by Friday night the freezing temps will be back.  That is how it here - flip flops one day and the next you are looking for those woolly socks.  UGH....  enough of the weather.  Let's move on to something more exciting to talk about! This weekend I got a chance to play with more new product from our Seasonal Expression 2 that is coming out in April!  This time I pulled out the new Jackson paper pack .  I LOVE this paper. The patterns and colors are just beautiful! Using the sketch from this week's Paper Player's Challenge, I created this card: The stamp set is an exclusive Hostess Only stamp set - Paper Birds (C1613) .  Isn't it cute? I love the scripted sentiments.  I also used the new Oceanside Sequins (Z3041).  The sequins package contains 4 colors -            I'm enteri

Blossom - Sneak Peek

Today I got to play with some new product that is coming in April.  (One month product pre-view is just another little perk for being a Close To My Heart Consultant!)  The new Cardmaking WOTG kit in Seasonal Expressions 2 is a MUST HAVE.  When I got my first peek at the kit I knew I had to have it.  The cards were beautiful but the stamp set alone is ADORABLE!  I had to have it.  It's been sitting on my desk for about a week now and I had so may other things I had to do first.  I was dying to play with it. The kit comes with plenty of supplies and a cutting guide that shows you how to make 5 cards each for 3 different designs.   I always like to make the 3 design just one time and then I will change it up a bit and create my own cards with the supplies I have left in the kit. Here are the three cards I created as per the kit instructions: Next I created a card using the flowers stamped in Lagoon and Glacier.  The little washi tape stamp is fun! And now my favori

If you are reading my post, the chances are you are already a scrapbooker or at least you are in the paper crafting world and know the importance of scrapbooking.   There is more to scrapbooking than just making 'pretty' pages.  Scrapbooking is a documentation of life.  Your life.... your family's life. It's a documentation of things you love, events your want to remember and maybe even things that are painful or healing.  If you took a photograph, it was likely because you wanted to remember it. Not too long ago, I was visiting my grandma.  One of the things we love to do is look through old photos.  We are fortunate that my grandma is still with us and she can usually answer questions we have about who is is the photo or what the event was that the photo was taken at.  But that will not always be the case.  Photo taking way back then (early 1900's) was probably a some what of a luxury. Today, the ease of taking photos with our cell phones and digital cameras

Brushed with Happy(iness)

Image
Woo Hoo!!!  Spring has come!  Wow.... what a beautiful weekend we had!  The weather was awesome.  I did manage to squeeze in some crafting time in between spending time outside and watching basketball (HUGE UK fan here).  I had plenty of things on my "To Do" list that I needed to complete before the weekend was over.  One of my task was to create the layouts with the Brushed WOTG kit for my clubs.  This paper is just absolutely gorgeous!!  Maybe it is because I'm tired of grey skies and rainy days.  The colors in this paper makes me happy.  After finishing my layouts (I'll share those soon), I had plenty of compliments and paper scraps left to create this happy card. The Brushed compliments are vellum.  Aren't they pretty?  I used the green journaling piece of vellum to stamp the word "happy" which is from the exclusive Brushed WOTG Stamp set.  I used Staz-on ink so that it would dry quickly and not smear. The bunch of pink flowers in the left cor

A Birthday With Confetti Wishes

Image
I do believe the Close To My Heart's Confetti Wishes collection is about the cutest I have seen in Birthday theme papers!   I created this layout using the leftover papers from the Workshop On the Go Scrapbooking Kit for my clubs.  They will create the featured layout in the kit and then they can create the layout I created here adding the Confetti Compliments and Confetti Assortments.   (This layout can be done if you just purchase the paper pack and add two sheets of White Daisy Cardstock).  I started the base of the layout with Sketch #11 from Make It From Your Heart Volume 1.  Instead of doing all the small photos I changed it up to use larger photos and added the compliments and assortments around. I used foam tape under every other letter to make the pop. Again, more foam tape under the balloons! (I LOVE Foam Tape!) Here is a cluster of presents...... I started with the large blue present adhering it directly to the page. Then I added foam tape

Last Call For Hopscotch!

Image
I was sitting at my craft table tonight trying to get inspired.  I caught sight of my Hopscotch WOTG kit that my clubs had just recently completed.  I had created a layout that used the Hopscotch Compliments for them but we didn't use them all.   I had just enough papers left to create a couple of cards using my leftover compliments. Here is the first card: This was fun to create!  I used the File Folder sketch from the Wishes.  I stamped "HELLO" on the speech bubble in Indian Corn Blue.  This stamp is from the set Have a Happy Day (D1616) .   I love the conversation bubble zip strip!  After adding the zip strip I tied a bit of Flaxen Extra Thick Twine around the card. Here is my second card.  It's pretty simple. This card was inspired by a card I saw in the upcoming Seasonal Expression 2 book coming out in April!  I used the round circles for flowers.  My stems are created from brackets and the leaves are created using the mustache stickease cut in half

A Little Note

Image
Who is ready for spring?  I know I am!!  I believe this is the 4th time I've worked from home due to icy road conditions here in Tennessee.   I'm not sure about tomorrow.  Although it started melting some this afternoon, with temperatures no higher than low teens tonight, it will all just freeze back. After I shut my work laptop down for the day I was in the mood to create something with color - something to make me think of Spring.   So my little daffodil stamp set was just the thing.   These pretty little flowers are some of the first ones to poke through after the hard winter.  I LOVE daffodils. This card is very simple.  I stamped the image in black and then used my ShinHan Touch Twin Markers to color.  I layered it onto Topiary Cardstock.   To keep a clean and simple look, I used a journaling pen to draw a line around the edge.   I used Topiary washi tape for my pennants on the side.
