Poster Tidings - September Stamp of the Month

Image
Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring Poster Tidings , a set of 2 large stamps. If you have come here from Lalia's Blog  you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's HERE . We have over 50 consultants participating in the hop. Following the hop is easy, just click on the link at the end of the post and it will hop you right over to the next blog! My project I'm sharing actually started out as a card. I was going to use a sketch from the Make It From Your Heart book and adjust the sizing to create a 5x7 card instead of 4 1/4 x 5 3/4. Something happened along the way. An idea hit me just as I was stamping the individual words. (I love it when this happens - it gets me excited about what I'm creating!) As I was stamping the words I was thinking "This would be ...

The Party Is On!

Image
I'm taking a short little vacation with my hubby over this upcoming long Labor Day Weekend.  It's been quite a summer and we really never got any kind of vacation time in.  So we decided to take a little trip to Asheville, North Carolina.  It's a place I've always wanted to go but never took the time!  So off we go! But while I'm gone, I wanted to share another Hostess Only Stamp set that any Hostess can choose with rewards from a book party or gathering.  There are 7 Hostess Only stamp sets and the best part about these are that Hostess can get them at a reduced rate!  What a deal! For this card I used The Party Is On  set (only $8.00 for Hostess) and of course one of my favorite paper packs this season - Sarita . The sketch design is from our new Make It From Your Heart Vol 2. Recipe: Make It From Your Heart Vol. 2 (9042) White Daisy Envelopes and Cards Valu Pack (X1410) Sarita Paper (X7171B) Gypsy Cardstock (X5757) The Pa...

A Quick Hello

Image
Have you ever come upon a sketch that you just HAD to do?  Every day I check lots of sketch challenges and I like most that I see.  But occasionally, I come across one that becomes a MUST DO before the week is out no matter how busy I am.   I've had a very busy week last week with two Hostess Clubs meeting, a workshop on Sunday and getting various post ready for upcoming blog hops. On Sunday I saw the sketch for Paper Players challenge and I just couldn't quit thinking about what I wanted to do with it!  I have so many other things I need to be doing, like doing the wash and prepping for an upcoming trip, getting ready for my other two Hostess Clubs that meet this week, but I stopped everything for about 30 minutes last night to create a card for the Paper Players sketch. This is a very easy and simple card and probably total time to put together took about 10 minutes.  It was hem-hawing around about WHICH stamp to use and WHAT color to stamp that took the ...

Celebrate Today with Laughing Lola

Image
Today is my sister's birthday!  I had just the sketch I wanted to use for her card!  This sketch comes from Mojo Monday .  It's been a while since I've got to play along with Mojo Monday (or any other challenge actually!).  I've so many other priorities taking up all my time. I selected the Laughing Lola (X7170B)  paper because it seems to reflect Kathie's style so well.  The card base is set upon Laughing Lola purple cardstock (exclusive color to this paper pack) layered on Black Cardstock.   The card measures 7 x 5.  The sentiment is from the Hostess Exclusive set - The Party Is On (C1568) .  I love this stamp set.  It is available ONLY to Hostess so one must host a gathering to get it!  I stamped this onto a shape I cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.     I used Black Shimmer Trim (Z1809) for one of the banners at the top.  The leopard print banner is from one of the zip strips from the Lau...

Chocolate Is Good for You!

Image
Have you had enough Chocolate this month?  I haven't!  I just love this month's Stamp of the Month! It's a keeper among my hundreds of stamp sets! Here is another card I created with A Chocolate Affair (August Stamp of the Month) with the Babycakes Paper (X7173B) . I used Close To My Heart's new Scallop Border Punch (Z1851) to create my border.  To create my multi-color cupcake I used the masking technique. I used Creme Brulee, Chocolate and White Daisy Pigment Ink to stamp my cupcake.  I added Mocha Opaque Adhesive (Z1333)  gems to the topping. A Chocolate Affair is only available until August 31st! AND.... you can get it for FREE with a $50 purchase from Close To My Heart!  How SWEET IS THAT??!!! Shop my website today and get your FREE stamp!   www.stampinheaven.ctmh.com

Artbooking in August Week 3 - Mini Album

Image
This is our 3rd Monday for Artbooking in August!  I hope you are being inspired by all of the creativity!  If you are just joining me, each Monday in August over 30 consultants are creating either a card, a layout, a mini album or a 3-D object with the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge. This hop is one big circle so when you get back to me you know you have completed the hop.  If you have come here from Cassandra Bennett's blog you are on the right track! This week I'm sharing a mini-album I created using our new Designed Decor' Flip Stand (Z1896). This clear acrylic stand is great for displaying photos up to 6 1/2 x 5 3/4.  The stand has a slot for inserting a background image or photograph.    I created my stand to represent my  10 Reasons I Love being a Close To My Consultant! I used Chantilly Paper (X7163B).  I used various pages from the Artbooking mini album pages. Now hop on over the Adeline B...

Follow Your Dreamsl

Image
Today my oldest daughter will graduate from Middle Tennessee State University!   I'm so proud of her!    Her dream has always been to move to a big city.   Murfreesboro, Tennessee isn't a small town anymore by any means but like most young people her age, they aspire to move on to a bigger place. I created this card to give to her for graduation. The stamp I used is called Cityscape (C1563) .  I knew the moment I saw the stamp in the Autumn Winter book that I would be getting it and creating something for Kirsti!  It just reminds me so much of her!  I stamped four of the buildings with black ink using the 2nd generation technique.  Then I stamped the other three buildings with black ink - 1st generation.  I trimmed each of the buildings. The buildings in the back are adhered to the card with glue dots.  The buildings in the front are adhered with foam tape to the give my little city dimension.   "Follow You Dreams" ...

Another Chocolate Affair

Image
If you're going to have an affair it might as well be with Chocolate! I love Close To My Heart's Stamp of the Month - A Chocolate Affair.   And this month it is an extra SPECIAL deal because when you purchase $50 in Close To My Heart Products you get this stamp ABSOLUTELY FREE!   What a deal! I have another card to share that I created with this set.   Again I used the Babycakes Paper (X7173B) .  This stripe just makes me think "Ice Cream Parlor".   So I thought it was a great background for the Sundae in this set. To create my yummy sundae, First I created my dish.  I used 2nd generation stamping Slate Ink and then rolled the edge to get a darker color.  Kind of makes the glass 'shine'.   I added Liquid Applique (Z308)  where the Ice Cream would be.   I stamped the chocolate topping and cut it out and placed on top of the ice cream adding a 'cherry' red sparkle to the top.  The shimmer on the topping is Stardus...

Image
Welcome to our NEW PRODUCT Blog Hop!  This hop will take you through 34 consultant blogs introducing you to some of the best new products in the Autumn Winter Idea Book!  It's a big circle so when you get back to me you know you have been all the way around the hop! Just look for the next link near the bottom of each post.   If you came from Beth Naumann's Blog you are on the right track! The 2013 Autumn Winter Idea was so full of fun new things I had a hard time deciding what to share!  When my new product arrived I spent most of my days creating cards with each new paper pack.   One night after creating a couple of cards I felt like I needed a break and reached for something totally different.  The product I reached for was our new My Creations Burlap Drawstring Bags (Z1872) .  These 5 3/4" x 4 bags comes in a package of 3. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love burlap!  So of course, I would love these new ...

Artbooking in August - Week 2

Image
Hello!  Here we are in week two of our Artbooking in August Blog Hop !  It's been fun and I hope you are getting some wonderful ideas to use with your Artbooking cartridge!   If you came from Cassandra's Blog you are on the right track!  It's one big circle so when you get back to me you know you have completed the circle.   If you get lost along the way you can get back on track HERE . Last week I created a two page layout using the Teamwork Layout from Artbooking.  I had some leftover scraps that I didn't want to go to waste so I used them on this card! Again, I used the ProPlayer (X7172B) paper for this card.  The overlay was left over from my layout that I shared last week.  (you can see it HERE ).  One of the great things about the Artbooking overlays is that you can easily cut them down to fit other projects leaving just the right amount of border.   The large arrows on the card are cut using the "BFF" shift ...

Yesterday I held my annual Autumn Winter Open House.  It was so much fun and I had several people stop by to check out the new products from the Autumn Winter Idea Book!  If you missed my Open House, here are a few shots from yesterday! This month's Stamp of the Month is called "A Chocolate Affair" so it was only appropriate that I had a Chocolate Theme going on! This is the Make & Take area: Everyone got to create the card I shared for the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - "Chocolate Understands".  Details for this card can be found HERE .  I displayed a couple of other options on our new Designed Decor Black Frame (Z1880).   I created the frame's title using the new Framework Alphabet (E1027) stamp .  This is a new favorite! I also used then new Corner Rounder (Z1912) to create the scalloped edge.    Here is a closer look: Check out the new Hair Clip (Z1876) !  I used it as an accent to my frame!  This is ...
