July Stamp of the Month - Life is Wonderful

Image
Welcome to the July Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! This month we are featuring  Life Is Wonderful ,  a set of 8 stamps. If you have come here from  Tracey Pierce's Blog , you  are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way around. If you get lost along the way, you'll find the complete list of participating consultant's  HERE . When I saw this stamp last year when we first got our new Annual Inspirations book, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with this set!  It is perfect for creating a 'chalk art' card.  This is a fun technique to use.  For my card, I wanted to have another color besides white so I used the Pear Pigment Ink.  I tried going for one of the brightest colors of pigment ink because on the black cardstock it makes the ink appear darker than it really is.    I used a piece of Topiary cardstock from the Paper Fundamentals Cardstock Adventure Assortment (Z2...

Countdown to Disneyland 2015!

Image
I can't believe that another year is nearly gone (in terms of Close To My Heart product years!).  In just 11 days I will be boarding a plane headed to California and one of the best parks in the world - Disneyland!!  This is the 2nd year in a row the Close To My Heart is holding their annual convention at Disneyland.  I love it!  Disney KNOWS how to treat their guests and between CTMH and Disney - they do it up right!!! The excitement has already begun with teasers from Close To My Heart and predictions among consultants.   Each June, CTMH releases their list of retiring products which ALWAYS starts a buzz.... "What does this mean?" "What will replace this?"  "Will we get that?"..... and on it goes.   By the way - if YOU want to know what is retiring, you can visit my website here: Retiring Items If you see something you want, you better get it before it is gone forever!!!  All retiring items will be unavailable after August 31 (or sooner i...

Happy Father's Day!

Image
I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day!  I wanted to share the Father's Day card that I created for my Dad.   This was fun stamp to play with, although I had a little bit of trouble creating a collar for my shirt.   Seemed so easy but I cut so many pieces that I didn't like.  I finally settled on this collar.  I know - we don't put buttons on a tie but the card didn't look right with out them!  Ha Ha .... so this tie has buttons.  Who knows, maybe I'll start a new trend! Happy 98th Birthday!

Today is my dear sweet Grandma's 98th Birthday!!  She just recently moved from her family home where she was born and raised to an apartment for Seniors.   Not an Assisted Living mind you.... an apartment complex for 55 and up!!   She loves getting cards from me so I try to send one to her often.  I created this card from the Blossom paper pack and used the Shower Flowers stamp to create bunches of flowers.   The flowers match the those in the paper.  I hope all the colors make her happy. The Blossom paper, compliments and Coral Reef Sequins will be retiring at the end of August!  These are now on a While Supplies Last basis so if you really like this paper, be sure to get it before it is gone forever! Have a Lovely Day with My Crush

Image
If you haven't heard, Close To My Heart has a great special going on with their My Crush line.  My Crush™ is a line of books and accessories that can be used for on-the-go memory preservation. These books are a safe way to hold everyday memorabilia. During the month of June, when you purchase a My Crush Book and the coordinating My Crush Assortment, you will get the matching stamp set for FREE! There are 60 pages in the Bluebird My Crush book so you don't have to save them all for journaling and memorabilia!  Tear out a page and make it into a card.   I shared a card I created with one of the pages last week.  If you missed it, you can see it HERE .   I pulled out my book yesterday and was flipping through the pages and this one caught my eye.   Look at all those butterflies!  Before I knew what I was doing, I had grabbed my scissors and I started cutting out the butterflies! Next, I pulled a piece of Kraft cardstock and ran it through the Qua...

A Happy Day Means Ice Cream!

Image
I'm loving July's Stamp of the Month - Ice Cream Dream.  Not only is it fun to color but it sure brings back many memories growing up.   I LOVE ice cream although I can't eat it as much as I wish.  Oh, I COULD eat it everyday but my hips would be as big as that truck on this cute little stamp!  My love for ice cream goes all the way back to the days I'd spend with my grandmother.  If we were going to my grandmother's house, then we knew for sure that meant ice cream for dessert!  That tradition has carried on down through the generations.  My daughters knew that anytime they went to their Monie and Pa's (my Mom and Dad) house - that meant Ice Cream!   The girls recently moved into a place of their own and I heard them commenting that the nearby grocery store had even MORE flavors of Ben & Jerry's ice cream than the one that was close to my house!  That's a big deal! Ice Cream - it's always fun no matter how you serve it - in a bowl, on ...

Pages are Blooming with Blossoms!

Image
This month my clubs will be creating these two layuots I designed using the Blossom Paper pack.  This paper is so pretty!!  I love the flowers and the colors.  I gave my ladies a break from stamping and used only the matching the compliments and added the coordinating Blossom Assortments and Coral Reef Sequins for the final touch.  So easy!! The above layout has an added element - Flip Flaps!  The picture sizes on the right page are 4 x 5 mats. We don't have flips flaps that measure 4 x 5 but making some to fit is easy!  I just cut off the bottom of the 4 x 6 flip flap and then 'sealed' the open edge with our Sunset Chevron Washi tape!  How cool is that?! - and yet another use for our fun washi tape! Products used for these two layouts: Blossom Paper Pack - X7196B Blossom Compliments - X7196C Blossom Assortments - Z3072 Coral Sequins - Z3042 4x6 Flip Flaps - Z4114 Sunset Chevron Washi - Z2005 ...

Amazing My Crush Card

Image
Today I'm sharing a card that I created using a page from the Bluebird My Crush Book.  There are so many beautiful pages in this book, it's hard to keep them in there!  (With 60 pages, you have plenty to rip a few out!) The Kraft paper with the brown outline flowers is the page I used.  I layered it onto a piece of Sweet Leaf cardstock using Kraft paper for my card base.  I used the coordinating Love This  (B1432) stamp set to stamp "Amazing" right on the card.   Next I stamped the flowers and butterfly with Chocolate ink onto one of piece from the matching My Crush Favorites Assortments (Z1889).  I tied it all together with a piece of Extra Thick Flaxen Twine  (Z3036) and added some Durables Artisan Studs (Z1816). Remember!  During the month of June you can purchase a My Crush Book with their matching assortments and you get the coordinating stamp for FREE!  See and order all of the My Crush options on my websit...
